I titled the thread Slumber Sunday... because I wish I could.

I'm up drinking my coffee, half dressed and trying desperately to wake-up.

Have Reserves again this morning but should be home around 11:30. Will post when I get back.

On my iPhone but it's harder posting from here. Can't get on Internet on laptop suddenly rembered I could get on via phone. At least enough to say what I just said. BBL when I can.

8:51: Now, I'm on?? Who knows what's going on with our internet. Obviously it's shaky at best. Keep thinking of trying something different (we have it through our cable company) next year. Will be turning it off in about 6-7 weeks. Depends on when people all leave. We're always the last ones and we can't go until all the water is turned off and we're sure everything is drained.

Dneighbors brought all their leftovers this morning -some of which we bought but haven't been opened. They fly back to FL later. He's winterizing their trailer (again), but it so wet out. At least it's not raining.

Had fireworks last night -left over from the 4th of July. Only about 15 minutes but it was good.

Think this is dh's last day to 'officially' work the weekend. He'll be back on week days starting tomorrow -the way he likes it. Actually he, DS-R, dgs7 are all heading to Millville, NJ Thursday morning about 4-4:30a.m. Sigh -that means another night of not sleeping for me. I never do when I have to get up early to 'meet' someone or something. Have to take dh about 8 miles from here to meet DS. DDIL#1 is going to fly to Philadelphia after she finishes work on Friday. She had planned to drive, but figured it was almost the same to flyand she'll be there so much earlier! Me? I'm staying here where it's tranquil and quiet!

I do plan to be away, doing something on Saturday afternoon. It's Halloween here and I don't need to be here.

DH and I aren't going to church this morning. For 1 he has to work and they're having the church picnic at a state park almost 50 miles from us. It's supposed to go from 10-4ish. We just couldn't be gone that long. Almost doubt they'll try that again -for 1 thing everyone has to pay a fee to get in the park as well. Always used to be at one couple's cottage on Lake Ontario or sometimes at the church itself.

I'm up and at it but very tired. Went to bed way too late last night.

I had to be up early which means I'll be hard pressed to make it through to the end of church since I've been up since 7 but awake since 6.

Dh is playing at the first service but I need to set up Sunday School at the second service so need to be there around 9:30. Dh was going to drop me at our church but that would be at 8:50 so I took him instead and he'll have to get a ride back to our church from the minister. Hopefully there's room in their car for him (they have a van so it should be ok.)

I'm going to take 10 minutes to lie down to try and reset and then head off.

I'm up and ready to take on the day. Have approx 27 minutes to get myself and LO dressed for church. *POOF*

Up after a pretty good night. I had taken a long nap in the afternoon so wasn't very tired. Woke up coughing several times.

DH went and picked up breakfast for me so I'm well fed and keeping warm under my blanket. Almost time to jump in the shower and get ready for the day.

Throat isn't sore and the achy-ness is gone so I think I dodged the bullet on being really sick.

Eager to head for the assembly building and meet and greet old friends.

One sad note - notified this morning that a old friend passed yesterday morning. Her husband passed in early June. I've thought about them a lot the last couple of days as they were on the parking crew here 3 years ago and parked us. We had been on the crew with them for several years and they lived at NR.

Just got up here. Almost 12 hours of sleep and yet I bet I can take a nap today too. OTOH, I may not have time.

PODA:
-slice brownies from yesterday and box to take to temple
-make mandel bread (batter made yesterday, need to shape loaves, bake, slice and rebake to crisp them up - kind of a labor intensive process)
-write what I say from the pulpit tomorrow
-make notes about tonight - I have to make an announcement and I need to be sure I have it right
-have baked goods at temple by 3 p.m.
-be at services early tonight - starts at 7:30

For the moment, I'm going to do a quick reading of the newspaper.

Made scrambled eggs in the fairly new micro cooker. Yum....mixed them with real bacon bits & then added swiss cheese at the end. Love that cooker. Have found a lot of uses for it so far. Am writing down how long to cook certain things -like grilled cheese, hot dogs, etc. Going to C World to see about the regular cooker. May as well -have $150 in C World $$ to spend before the end of the year. Could wait until we get to FL but then we'd just be transporting it back here. DH and I really need to look at catalog and see if there's anything we need/want for our Park Model. Did get our card for 3 years of roadside assistance in the mail on Thursday. It was less than a week ago that the 'guy' from G ood S am's called dh, so that was a fast turn around.

Dfriends next door left a while ago. Last night one of their dgks locked the doors on their dd's car. I finally called dh to see if this one particular person was around -actually he was standing 2 feet from dh. Knew he'd have the 'tools'. He came down and got it open in about 2-3 minutes. Relief! They slipped him $20. This morning dh thanked this person and asked him if he knew who it was he'd helped. (the brother of the fire chief from next town who passed away suddenly last Sunday.) Guy, said, "If I'd only know that's who it was, I never would have let them give me anything for it."

Dfriends brought over several things they had left over -like dish liquid, coffee, milk, butter, etc, etc. Some we had bought to stock their fridge etc. She gave me a card and I waited to open it until dh was here for breakfast. Not one, but TWO gift cards were in there -1 to O Garden & 1 to Apple bees! Didn't want them to do that! We're planning to stop there on the way to dd's in November. They live outside Ocala, but were originally from here -about 2 miles away. Imagine we'll stay for a couple of days -probably. Then my DB/DSIL live about 10 miles from them and we sort of plan to stop there. Depends -db may be back up here on a hunting trip about then.

Thanks, Twins. Always glad to learn new things. The older I'm getting the more I want to learn. Perhaps it's because I felt I didn't have the time when we were raising 5 kids.

Woke up early. Got box of stitching projects put away. I can only do one project at a time and the box sitting under the table was driving Mike nuts. Now let's see how long it takes him to notice.

Decided to take all of my clothes out of the MBR closet and get them sorted for our next vacation. (48 days to go, but who''s counting?)

Also decided to sort out costume jewelery to see what goes with what. (Also for vacation in 48 days)


Dh and I will be joining his parents on a 21 day Caribbean cruise. There are "officially" 6 formal nights, but my MIL dresses for dinner every night, so I think 7 actual outfits, but different colours of pashminas and costume jewelery to go with.

I also have a shelf in the linen closet of travel stuff that I need to sort through to make sure I have everything. I see a trip to Walmart in my future.
