Good afternoon! I have been happily distracted today working on my teaching, which is good for me - and good for the moms group too. :) I happily worked while eating my lunch but am taking a break now.

I did get my a.m. routine done and took care of some emails.

Gardener guy we hire from time to time was here this morning to take down an ugly scraggly evergreen that was next to/growing in front of our garage. We'll replace it with some other plant, hopefully a pretty (as in, it looks pretty) and slow-growing sort that can also help hide our garbage and recycling cans.

I have about 2:40 before the girls come home. I will continue forging ahead on the teaching. At least now I have a general flow of ideas. Figuring out how to present and then craft questions so the women are mining out the good stuff, rather than me telling them, will be part of the process. Of course, I will share some things too. And they will undoubtedly mine out some ideas which I hadn't even thought about, which is part of the beauty of this group!

After the girls are home, I will have about 40 minutes before I'll need to leave with dd14 for her oboe lesson. I can sit in a nearby cafe and continue to work on my teaching. Or, I can take a break and read a book. It will be around 6:15 by the time we get home.

Dh will be out at a work-related dinner tonight, so it will be a simple supper for the girls and myself. Likely, tamales and fruit.

Dh and I decided to punt jogging until tomorrow. I'm glad I went yesterday.

My book club is meeting tonight; if I feel good about my teaching, I'll go. I haven't finished the book yet -- no excuse. It's not even a very long book. But it is fun to be with these ladies, and I value these relationships.

Unlike many of you, we have had NO rain today, though it was overcast earlier. It is sunny at the moment, with lots of white fluffy clouds. Oh - out one window the clouds look more gray. And now the sunshine is weak -- and gone. I guess that is the sort of afternoon we're having.

I hope everyone is having a nice day, even if it is rainy or cloudy where you are!

Hello Dear Ladies,

We're having absolutely beautiful weather here today. I walked for 25 minutes this morning and it was wonderful, temps in the 70's when I was out.

Found out one of the exercises I've been doing might actually be aggravating my back, :o so I've quit doing that one and found another one that might help me. :)

I'm making myself be up and moving for an hour and then rest for 20 minutes. Then back up again. Hoping this will help my legs situation too. I hadn't been counting my shower time as being on my feet, when I really should as I'm on my feet in the shower and I usually don't feel rested when I get out. When Kathryn mentioned how the shower tired her out, it set a bell off in my head, so thank you Kathryn.

So far I've done dishes, put away laundry and cleaned one bathroom. I need to clean another bathroom today and clean the kitchen counters and appliances.

Going to go back and read posts for now, I just made it through the first page.

Mystery, I'm sure MamaP will 'set us straight', but I believe she moved from FL to UT about 2 years ago to live with her ds. Not sure when the timing was, but evidently while you've been in hiatus.

How do I get dh to understand the fatigue?

It has been 7.5 hours since I got out of bed. I ached so badly, and am almost in tears. I can't move fast. Each step is like wading through chest deep water and it hurts (today it is sciatica along with the fatigue.) So I made it through our Costco shopping and then settled into the car, glad I didn't have to drive home. Get home, I gather up my purse and computer bag, say to dh "can you manage everything else from the car, please" and come inside. I put down my purse and computer bag on the chair, drop the mail, start to unbutton my coat and dh comes in, loaded down with all the meat and milk from Costco and asks if I can take them from him and put them into the kitchen (35') away.

He could tell from the look on my face, the answer was no. I'm trying hard not to whine to him when I get exhausted but when all I want to do is lie down, and I still have 12 more stairs to climb (one at a time, when I'm fatigued I can't walk up them normally), get undressed and go to the bathroom, any detour is asking too much.

Having been gone from home since 7:45 this morning, there's a whack of stuff that needs to be done but all that will have to wait at least 2 hours, probably 3, when my body is finally recovered and ready to take another stab at today.

Hi everyone! Last night I got my shopping done: backing for the rugs and groceries. I tried to broil my London broil only to find my broiler doesn't work. It is the first time I have tried it since moving into this house. So I made London bake. It took a long time to figure this out so I was running late. I ended up having cereal for dinner. I did run the dishwasher and finished a magazine that I can now declutter. I did not work on any boxes. I opened the door to the sewing room so the newest foster cat has the run of the house. However, she is staying in her bed, which is like a cave. I am severely tired today and am wondering if my thyroid meds need adjustment. I have gained weight and have had 2 migraines recently. (In my family migraines track with thyroid). I signed on for a Girl Scout camporee in October (BRR). Tonight is Girls Night Out and I am going to do the absolute minimum around the house afterward so I can get to bed. The minimum for Tuesday is put the trash and recyclables out to the curb and take care of the cats and myself. I need to remember NO crochet and NO videos. I don't know what DD10 is going to want to do for Girls Night Out. Chuck E Cheese is out because of her broken wrist. Maybe library, bookstore, or videos at home, or books at home. Right now I want a nap, but I am at payroll and will continue evaluating documents.

Just finishing up a light lunch. It has been raining here almost all day so far, sometimes just a light drizzle; it is pouring hard now. I'm glad we worked in the yard yesterday.

There is nothing specific planned for today. Dh shopped at W-M for some groceries to do till the end of the week. He's home again and relaxing in the bedroom since I had HGTV on. I think he's watching one of the CIS shows now; he might even take a nap.

I've got several more things I need to do today:
**Pay bills due this week and next.
**Transfer pictures from camera to computer.
**Wash lol....sheets/towels.
**Sweep carpet.
**Clean A/C filter.
**Log today's food on MFP.

SO glad I did my walk before I began painting this morning while it was still a bit cool for painting.
Phew I'm bushed saved by the bell / I mean phone.
Granny duty rescued me from an afternoon of more painting. It's warming up outside anyway.
The lower part has been covered once with first coat.
Now the roof its more challenging up and down the ladder and over head brush work.
I have about 1/2 of it done on the underside so that is good what I could reach from the ground.

Lunch is done.

I had picked up two rooms this morning before I got going so that helps unfortunately I left the kitchen for later and it's the most work. A nap is sounding really good right now!

Kathryn, for the sciatic pain, which I will assume is a swollen piriformis, plenty of water, anti-inflammatory med you are allowed if possible, and no sitting for prolonged periods in the same chair or seat of car. For too-optimistic dh, very little advice. We want them to continue optimism, but we need them to hear us. We do need cheery forward-thinking, but an equal amount of understanding.
