Flipped wash, had lunch, spent way too long scrolling through xkcd. (For those of you who don't know, it's a webcomic; today, the comic contained an immense illustration you had to click and drag to see all of. I don't think I saw it all. Imagine seeing a billboard-sized image 4" x 6" at a time.)

Enjoy your quiet moment, Nancy -- it doesn't sound like Twins has any of those coming up!

OK, need to leave soon... I'll clean up my lunch and do some decluttering before I go. dd will be back from her field trip today; I can't wait to hear all about it!

Don't know when I'll be back, since I've been so unreliable about getting back after school.

Waving to Sadie!

Ivy, bless your heart, and I hope the meds fix you up quickly. You probably don't have MRSA, but I wanted to let you know it is the reason that I keep an unopened jar of Manuka Honey from the health food store in my kitchen cubboard. Dstepdil got MRSA on a hand and I didn't know at the time Manuka Honey was so good for it. Of course she got well with the meds, but I researched and discovered all the good info about it. So I've kept some here ever since, ready for the next time anyone in the family needs it. It is made from the nectar of tea tree blooms in New Zealand and has a higher antibacterial properties than other honeys. It has been classified as a Therapeutic Good in Australia, and in 2007 was approved by the U.S. FDA. It's an effective antimicrobial against MRSA in lab experiments but there aren't many studies on people. Anyway, just some interesting info.

I did nap and now had a phone call that neighbors want to come to visit at 4. I am woefully unprepared but will just trudge on. Of course they would want to come just days ahead of new upholstery.

I s2s, had breakfast, had a snack (since I ate breakfast at 11:45) and cleaned our bathroom and swapped the towels.

Dh and I are going down to the Seaway for supper. It is a nice day for a drive and the car dealership there sent us a letter, via Toyota, saying they wanted to buy our car and offering a trade-in bonus if we bought something new or used (later model) from them. So I talked to the sales manager and he sounded like he wants our car. We've been considering moving up to a Prius V since last June, thinking we'd buy before August next summer. The car is much larger so would handle our drives to Nova Scotia much better.

Now that I'm sick, we moved up the purchase date to much sooner because the rear seats recline (which means I could go for longer drives counting the car time as 'down' time.) Plus we canceled the cruise and the backup cruise I had hoped to do is fully booked for our cabin level (cheapest) so that gives us a bit more spending money to use.

With this offer coming out of the blue, we saw it as a sign.

So I'm off to nap now, even though I've only been up 4.5 hours. We'll leave around 4 p.m.

Hi everyone! Last night's Girls' Night Out became Girls' Night In. We ate Chinese, there was no homework, watched the Lightning Thief (AGAIN!) and painted a birdhouse. DD10 has a large collection of birdhouses to paint, but they really house dragons. The one that was painted last night was the infirmary for the dragons. It is like a little dragon city.

Today I got a message from the pharmacy that they cannot renew my thyroid meds, so I made an appointment with the doctor. I think I need an increase in dosage, i have gained some weight and am getting migraines again.

My LR is a disaster area and the kitchen needs some work. I think I will have dinner at church and Bible study. Then, at home, I need to wash hair, cook some stir fry, and work with the foster cat. She is still not leaving the sewing room, but does meow when I call her, but won't come to me. Then, somehow, I have to get to bed early because I am exhausted. I don't have to fix a lunch for tomorrow because I will be eating with friends.

Elizabeth - I'm glad you posted about your medicine renewal efforts. I forgot the mail order pharmacy said a couple weeks ago that they can't fill one of DH meds. I need to check into that and get it back on track..... It almost slipped through the cracks.

TADA -
**Lunch done. Kitchen cleaned up again.
** After lunch, DH and I reenacted moment by moment of incident that happened 3.5 years ago. It was reassuring that we both had the same memory. Sometimes things get fuzzy and forgotten but our memory of incident was matched almost perfectly.
** fedex contacted and scheduled pick up of 2 packages tomorrow. We won't be home tomorrow so I had them add a note for fedex guy the packages will be at gate to yard
** received notice our home insurance won't renew us. aRGH! Our long time insurance agent said the company is losing $$ because of the drought the fire danger is too high. They are dropping all homes outside of city limits. we have 2 months to find someone who will provide home insurance for our location.......so i'll just put this on the back burner to do later.
** watched two new episodes of 19 kids and counting on youtube. This show isn't available to watch with only an antenna, so I'm thankful it is available online.

Next up -
** Put toes up for 30 minutes
** pick up LO from school
** normal evening routine.....homework, play outdoors, supper prep, etc

OK, I'm off for a jog. I got my a.m. routine done and some emails, but not much else. I'll work on filling in a copy of the hand out with my notes when I get back. Girls should be home by then too.

We're eating early tonight, 5:30, so dd16 (and maybe dd14?) can go to youth leadership meeting at church before youth group. We're eating spinach lasagne casserole, salad, bread. The casserole is one leftover from Saturday night. I made 2 small ones, and we only ate one.

((OK)) and house insurance.

((Ivy)) That does sound painful. I hope you heal quickly.

A new car sounds lovely, Kathryn! Ours are all 10+ years old; dh and I both dislike buying cars, but we're going to have to bite the bullet and just do it some day.

Glad you got a nap, Harriet. Neighbors? In your neighborhood?

It sounds like you're keeping on track, Twins.

I've noticed Sadie exercises wisely.

My kids all loved the Percy Jackson series, Elizabeth! I think their Latin backgrounds help as they learn Greek mythology in their Latin classes. Dd16 needs a blood test to confirm her thyroid meds are at the correct level.

Have you gotten sunshine yet, Mystery? I think we're a little north of you - as well as west.

Yay for good BS, nancy!

A lot of proofreading going on today.

That is as far back as I can scroll. Have a great late afternoon, SHE friends.

Home from errand rounds. I responded to a couple of emails first - appears that the first version of what I proofed this morning wasn't adequately proofed by the several sets of eyes who looked at it.

-finish unloading car, and clear anything else out of it (Got rid of garbage while I was gassing it)
-put away groceries
-agenda for evening meeting
-pull up financial statement that bookkeeper sent a couple of days ago and look over it before meeting
-do 15 minutes putting away or filing papers from "hot" kitchen counter

Ack! Cancelled my time to sit and put toes up. I almost forgot that I need to leave early. I am meeting DMIL today at LO school. I am going to introduce her to LO teacher and show DMIL where/how to pick up LO. DMIL will be picking LO up from school a couple days next week for us. *POOF*

 Wasted much of the day looking for a certificate that I was SURE I'd put someplace sensible and easy to find. This was for a replacement for an ever blooming lilac that we mail ordered last year. One failed. I went through lots of paper in lots of places. I had thought it was hung on the fridge -well the note saying they were sending one was. Finally this afternoon as I looked at the fridge from the table I was looking at the small pile of restaurant menus hanging on the side. Hmmm....I wonder. Sure enough there it was about the 2nd from the top. After trying to find the phone number (with no luck at that point) I looked at the certificate and realized it's for $5.49. Told dh by the time we reordered it and paid $7.50 for shipping it was hardly worth it. So after at least 3 hours of searching -I ended up not doing anything about it.

Now I'm looking for our 2 toiletry bags. they're not in my closet as I thought. Now I'm really perplexed. Unless I put them in a suitcase that's been in the storage unit all summer...... I'll just put dh's odds 'n ends in another bag. I'm tired of looking. Have that and dh's travel bag out. Now just need to put things into them -have everything out sitting in the recliner waiting to pack.

Was going to fix chili for dinner but fellow campers gave us a container of french onion soup. Think I'll add some cheese and bread to that and wallah -dinner.

Time to put up our meds for the next couple of weeks. Then I can pack dh's meds for this weekend.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

DeeClutter, Don't you hate looking for something you put in an easy-to-find place and it disappears into a black hole somewhere? I hate that. I try to stay fairly organized, but when I organize and find a better place for something, it gets "lost" when I want it again. :o

DeeClutter, I hope you find your toiletry bags, too. I get physically tired when I look and look for things, too. I think I get a lot of exercise going from one end of the house to the other, looking in and under stuff, lifting bins, etc... You get the idea.

OKay, Sorry you didn't get your time to put your toes up and sit. It's a gr8 idea to introduce your DMIL to the LO teacher, too.

Twins' Mom, I'm glad you proofed the piece and it's too bad it wasn't done adequately in the first place, but at least you've gotten it accomplished. :D

helia, You did great getting your a.m. routine done and jogged, too. Oh, spinach lasagne casserole sounds divine! :!:

Kathryn, You're so lucky you got a new car! Ours is 10 years old, but hardly any miles on it and is in good condition.

Harriet, Are your neighbors close, up on top of each other, or are they spread out? We're spread out here. The closest one is 1/4 mile away.

Sadie, WTG for exercising wisely, too.

Hello to Elizabeth.

Hi Mystery. We're trying to get sunshine here.

Nancy, you're doing great.

Ta Da:
1- Went to the pharmacy, had a consult with the pharmacist, about dosing, and came home.
2- DH started the DW.
3- I "soaked" my ear. (Sounds so funny!)
4- I walked 16 min. while soaking my ear. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone, right? ;)

Plans:
1- Help DH put away groceries when he returns home.
2- Try to write a letter.
3- Try to read.
4- Try to sort the laundry to "see" if there's enough for a load.

I got in a long nap this morning! :!: :D I was feeling so run down. Must be the infection. Need to run and take my 1st antibiotics. Had to be on an empty stomach or 2 - 3 hours after food. I had eaten yogurt about 40 min. before leaving to go the pharmacy. I wish I'd known ahead of time. The pharmacist said this particular antibiotic is a very good one, too. I was so happy to hear that, too. Good news.

Thank you for everyone's well wishes, too. It means a lot. :D
