Re: Thursday Thing
Thanks for starting us off, Scattered. It is far nicer to start up the computer and know I can come in and post without having to think up a title.
My Thing for the day will be balance. Normally I put things in the late morning but today I have an afternoon non-profit housing board meeting so I need to get going in the morning, nap at 11, then be up all afternoon. This is the first time I've had to be productive/social all afternoon.
The board meeting is in the market village so I'll run any grocery errands I have and I'll go get my blood drawn at the clinic after the meeting. The common room of the apartment building we manage has a microwave so I'll take my heat bag with me so I'll be ready for the draw. It is nice to only have to go for blood draws every second week.
My specialist appointment is one week away today.
I'm getting really far behind on housework this week so I'm hoping I can include that in my focus for the morning. I will try and avoid posting here in order to stay on task. Tiring myself out so I can actually rest well during my early nap.
It is now fall weather so I need to do something about my clothing swap. I have jeans and three turtlenecks but no matching long pants or warm skirts. Today I'll need something dressier for the meeting but with sleeves to roll up for my blood draw.

Re: Thursday Thing
Wishing Kathryn a good day and a better numbers blood draw.
I'm thought less today. Think I'm still tired. Got up at 2:58 for bathroom and then didn't dare go back to sleep. Got up at 3:36 and we left here at 4:08 to meet DS-R and dgs7. 41* -brrrr. Came back and dozed in the recliner for a while. I'm up now, but strongly thinking of laying back down for a while.
Tomorrow I have mammogram and bone density (if my Dr. was able to give the hospital a "reason" so the insurance will cover it.
)
Need to stay somewhat on task this weekend or the RV will fall into disrepair in a hurry. Think I'll rest a while and then tackle the kitchen -that's the most needy.

Good Morning!
I woke up late again today, but am not going to do anything about it for a few days. I am just thankful that I'm sleeping well.
TA-DA
** Bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches made for everyone
** LO delivered to school
I will be out of the house until this afternoon so little time to clean today. The 4 areas that have been recently cleansed look spectacular so maintenance is quick/easy.
3D status -
** Dishes - caught up with shiny sink
** Duds - last load in the dryer
** Dinner -
B: egg/cheese/bacon sandwiches
L: eat out somewhere....I'm thinking Atlanta bread co.
S: Fish, green beans, squash, cowboy beans, baked potatoes. (same meal that i was going to prepare last night but DH wasn't hungry so I didn't cook).

I'm up; I've made coffee and have the sprinklers & groc. list going.
BS has been good for the past week today not so much sigh oh well.
I'm SO glad I spiffed up the kitchen last night and did load the dishes in the dish washer sure makes for a smoother running morning.
I finished up the watering in the front and main part of the back yd. this morning.
Granny duty in a bit this morning.

Re: Thursday Thing
Good morning, villagers ~
Kathryn, that new car sounds fab. Your vacation plan appears to be a great compromise. Travel and sunshine, without you having to spend every day rushing around.
It's an Apron Day, hooray!
Need to catch up on laundry and dishes, and I'm happy to be able to stay home to do that. Waiting on final draft of sewing group newsletter.
Must also dig into the library group's financial records and set up a spreadsheet for doing the bookkeeping this fiscal year. Previous treasurer created a separate file for each month. 12 separate files for the past year, plus the checkbook register, savings & investments register, and I guess a summary somewhere that I haven't located yet. I prefer 1 master file with a separate internal sheet for each month. That's easier for me to track progress and refer back to answer questions, and I can still print out just 1 month when I want. I also want to put the hard copies in a binder. Too many loose pages in a tote bag, I'm afraid I'll lose something critical.
Hopefully by tonight I'll be at a place to hem another pair of DH's pants, and then set the machine aside to use the table for cutting fabric.
Last night I had a really fun supper with Mom, Aunt V and all 3 of my sisters. Oldest sister has a lot of health problems and often cannot join us, but last night youngest sister talked her into it. So much fun laughing with those dear women. We talked about doing it again, maybe next month, and hopefully someone will remember to bring a camera. Much as I hate having my picture taken, I'd love a photo of all of us, and even more fun if girlcousin can be there, too.
Too bad my meal was ... not good! but the company made up for it.
Just made a date for tomorrow afternoon to have coffee in The Big City with 2 friends I haven't seen for some months. I'm glad we can get together before winter hits.
I'll combine that trip with stocking up on groceries.

Re: Thursday Thing
Hello everybody.
Dee, don't you think well visits and tests shouldn't need reasons...they save the ins. co. lots of money, especially when they catch things before extensive treatments are needed. Grrrr. My pet peeve. My ins. co. told me I would have to pay out of pocket $6000 for a colonoscopy. Yikes! I have mamogram and bone density this coming Tuesday. Good luck to us both, huh?!
Every day I get up hoping to be feeling better. But soon discover I still have that odd tired feeling. Today is no different. However, I was thinking how nice and quiet it was today and peaceful - until the phone started ringing. So, I guess my thing for today is just to get through the day and get something accomplished. I don't have many elaborate goals these days.
Desk chores were done until I got that last phone call.
Create some sort of advertising for gal coming to pick up $ for their year book (in honor of Lucylee!). Oh, do you work on the yearbook or just the newspaper? That's probably a whole different group of people. Have to do some other stuff back at my desk too.
Still need to clean up kitchen and fold laundry.

Re: Thursday Thing
The last day of the Rally and I'm already done!!!
Other years I would be rushing around and nagging people to do their jobs. This year - we are just committee members and the Chair has to do that. Our paper work and supplies are all turned in so we are good.
I made myself clean up the MH before I came to the computer this morning. Handouts from seminars, goodies from the market (RV Vendors with freebies) and yesterday's huge pile of mail were all over the table, chairs, floor, couch and any other flat surface. So some is stashed until we get back to the house, some is thrown and some is filed. The place looks a lot better now.
Next up is breakfast, meds and S2S and then head out for lunch and closing ceremonies. We will be staying here 2 more nights for after meetings and the Elk rally. (one of the groups). Then we will head for a whole week of peace and quiet at two Corps of Engineers parks on lakes in Kansas. Then we will head south toward NM.
Tummy growling so I'd better eat.

Fabulous Apron Day to you, BookSaver. What a joy to have so many female members of your family able to get together casually. I have lost 2 girlcousins over the past few years, so I know how meaningful that is. Yes, take the camera, but hide it until you pull it out for a photo, because it can make ladies cringe!
Twins Mom, you must love your new home - you are starting to sound like Emptynester when you describe your surroundings. Congrats on getting in mile walks lately.
lucylee, HRH says to tell you your response might be
"I will endeavor to teach the school board and administrators better methods for encouraging the vitally important Classroom Teacher."
(Can you tell that he studied at the knee of his mother-in-law? lol )
Harmony, there is something antibacterial about all honeys for wound dressing, and I guess when the honey is made from those particular blossoms it is even more potent.
I got in a little sun. Happy about that because I was about to think the clouds and rain were going to stay.

Re: Thursday Thing
Harriet, loved your response to Lucylee!
I've been staying out of the sun. It sucks the energy out of me. I noticed this year, even before I suspected something was wrong with me, that I don't do as well in the sun as I used to. My D3 is probably down, not a good thing.
Putting out one fire after another. Bar counter cleaned off and stuff lined up there for chores still to come. Took delivery of a couple windows and made out that check. Have Ad and check ready, gal is coming here. She sounded so professional on the phone, but I could hear the timidity in her voice. I must remember to encourage her when she comes. 2 other stacks of stuff there waiting.
I am working on filing here in the office. Hoping to get rid of a sea of papers from the kitchen if I am able to match them up. The ones I can't figure out I'm going to put in a file folder with a big ? on it. At least that will be neater.
