Harmony, I am feeling pretty good - although I did take another nap; I could sleep like Rip van Winkle. On Monday I will call doc to schedule some bloodwork and a sleep study if possible.

Another round:
-15 minute shift in the garage - either emptying boxes or cleaning up
-quick car clean up on the inside
-water outside plants
-clear 10 pieces of paper from the high "hot" counter
-put away the breadmaker from yesterday

Napped for an hour. Had energy when I got up but worked for almost 2 hours full tilt and am now fading. So I'm down for 15.

Got the chickens on, made the dressing, set the table (finding it first by sorting and stacking the paperwork on it), switched over to fall decorations (without Harriet's reminder), made the salad dressing, and supervised the potatoes and carrots being prepped. As the veggies were being cut up, we got a text asking if it was too late to add two more. Nope, so more veggies were cut and two more places added to the table.

I still have a lot to do and there's my timer.

That round, I think I lost my timer in the garage. I have several, and I'm sure it will turn up. In the garage it's come to poking through a box, sometimes combining it with other boxes, sometimes moving to Goodwill box, sometimes leaving on the step to the house to bring it in and put away.

I think I'll get out the two boxes of fall decorations and see if there's anything I could use now...also fold the laundry in the dryer and empty the dishwasher.

Hello, villagers ~
I'm trying to cuop. Very enjoyable reading what y'all are doing today. I am having a very "uninteresting" day and am quite happy about it!

The weather turned cool yesterday, which made me instinctively think in terms of stocking the pantry. Came home with a trunk full of groceries.

Last time we were up visiting the ILs I noticed that DSisIL has a new stove. It looked too wide for the space I have, but she said it's a standard 30-inches. I decided a long time ago not to replace ours (with its non-working oven) until I found something I really like. I may have found it. She has her microwave mounted above the stove, instead of a hood. However, it seemed to me to be a bit too high for lifting down steaming hot dishes. I'm dreaming of getting back to baking yummy casseroles and holiday cookies.

OK, break's over, must get back to the historical financial reports.

Howdy. y'all!

Having a busy weekend with DH's work picnic tomorrow and church picnic today. Have never seen so many casseroles. Everything was covered in bread crumbs and/or cheese...it was good, but no wonder we are too fat in this country! Next time I will bring a plain old naked vegetable! My dessert was eaten and we did enjoy the fellowship at picnic, though.

Watched a small plane doing acrobatics over our house this evening. Yikes!

Fall is a busy time around here. The fair is nearby if we can fit that in. Will probably have to do that next year.

Have a fall wreath stored in basement. Guess it's time to bring that out. Got it on clearance at W-mart several years ago for about $2! It's a large full wreath, too. Nice to read that several of you are doing your fall decorating!

Waving to all. I am following along, even when I don't post.

Hi Booksaver! There's a LOT to CUOP today! :!:

Twins' Mom, That's terrible that you lost your timer in the garage, but it's great you have several. I have 2 that I use a lot.

Kathryn, I napped for an HOUR, TOO! DH built a fire in the fireplace insert, so it got so hot it put me to sleep! :!: You're going great on the chickens, etc.... It sounds like everything's coming right along nicely. :)

Harmony, Yes, I'm glad my ear/neck/scalp are better, too. My dr. is a D. O. (Dr. of Osteopathy) so he suggests things, whereas normal doctors don't. I'm very lucky to have him. Great reputation.

Scattered, Oh, your BFF needs to post? :?: That's sweet! :) What kind of dog do you have?

MysteryWoman, Oh, how fun for you to win a prize in the raffle! :D

Hi Cowinkie! Your card idea sounds like a good one, too.

Harriet, I read your post, but when I went to re-read it, to comment on it, it wasn't there, so it must've gone onto another page. But from memory, your history with writing sounds awesome! I just write short stories for adults. I took a correspondence children's writing course, only to discover how I hated writing for kids. I don't know why because I have adult kids and grsns. So strange, but I just don't "get" it when it comes to writing for kids- at ALL. I really admire people who write for kids and people who write mysteries. I've never written a mystery, but they publish them in "Woman's World" as mini-mysteries. I've printed up info from on-line about writing mini-mysteries and have several of the Woman's World stories saved, to study. Someday I'll make it in there.

I've been reading on "Writing Lies for Fun & Profit," by Lawrence Block as a sort of "warm-up" exercise, before I begin to write. I worked on a short story today, will add more to it tomorrow, and I outlines a different one. I should do laundry, the mail came, but I didn't get any letters, so I'm caught up with pen pals. :D DH's fireplace insert fire made it so warm in here that he had to push open the slider door and pull over the screen. His favorite days are Sat. because of exiting college football. If something's really exciting in a game, as he's sprawled out on the sofa, his legs and feet "wiggle" like HE'S playing football right along with those young men. He played in college and gets so "into" the games. It's cute. ;) It gives me time to read and write. I'm so grateful he's not a demanding DH. 42 years now and I picked out a good model. :D

Took a nap but had a bad dream; I dreamt that my DMother and DSister (who is too like my DMother) had moved in and were not contributing to the household or helping around the house (which would be very typical of them) and just before I confronted them about the fact that I was over it and them living Gucci lives while my DK's and I lived in the poor house... my DS13 woke me up. LOL I'm sure a psychologist would have a field day with that dream.

I've laid out my outfit, Skinny leg jeans, pretty green shirt (that I love but don't wear because it shows my tattoos), and Gogo boots (what I call my black boots that go up to my knees). Need to go S2s.

Ivy - Ddog is a Vizsla http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vizsla she is a great Ddog and we found her as a puppy at the pound. :)

OOOh, Scattered, Vizlas are such regal looking dogs, in my opinion. Ever go hunting with yours?

Twins, you'll be the 3rd around here getting diagnostic tests; there's more of us if we just count routine exams/tests.

I have to say, though, we are all expert nappers! I actually skipped my nap today as I stayed in bed till after 1:00. It took me 4 hours to start feeling tired. And I got no housework done except for a load of dishes.

Well, working on one's craft should be considered a good use of time, right?!

Dee, Hope your hair turns out well. We women love it when our hair looks good. I think it gives us a little "lift". Sorry to hear about your shoulder. Have you ever had rotator cuff surgery on it? Have you ever done PT for it? Glad you're looking forward to company, too.

Let me see if I can do this in short, Ivy. Quite a few years back I tore my shoulder to shreds, resulting in a complete shoulder replacement and screws. There is little muscle left so I can barely lift my arm (and really only from my elbow down). Have a steel shaft in the center of my humerus. After all these years it is still quite painful and nothing to be done for it. I did do PT for about a year & a half and they finally decided it was never going to do any better. As for my hair, love it! Can I sleep standing up tonight?

Got some pictures done at W mart today. Love the latest one of dgs. How he's growing! Love holding him, just can't do it for very long. Would love to be taking care of him while ddil works, but I just can't.

We did have over 200 kids today. Amazing in only our campground (we have 191 permanent sites and probably 70 seasonal sites (weekenders). Actually I was gone all day but dneighbor brought over a dish of pasta and said there were over 200. It was so chilly and now rainy that I'm glad I wasn't here.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Harmony, I'm thinking if we could just get together, the SHEs might qualify for a bulk discount on diagnostic tests!

Dinner is done and 90% cleaned up (dishwasher is running but will need unloading and there's a few more things that were hand washed to put back.)

It was wonderful meeting more of my son's friends. They are all connected through Jeff, who is busy trying to kill them all by getting them to do adventurous things (white water rafting, zip lining, ski patrol, rock climbing, scuba diving, marathons...) He's off to Africa next month to climb Kilimanjaro. I couldn't really ask for a better friend for ds since all this activity (although expensive and tiring) fights depression and is giving ds a lot of accomplishments. Plus very entertaining stories!

There was lots of laughter at the table tonight which was good for my soul too.

I'll be there tomorrow to cheer them on, hopefully with a sign that says, "Yes, Jeff IS trying to kill you!" since that is their catch phrase. Jeff's parents will be at the finish line and he told me where they'll be sitting so I can look for them there.

Still trying to arrange breakfast with my nephew. And we've been invited to the bbq Jeff's hosting after the run.
