Re: OKay Monday
Harriet, dd1 usually does Thanksgiving but last year her dh said they weren't doing it again. When she has it, I contribute a lot to it and their family, dh and I, plus dsonil dm and any of his brothers also come. Then that evening dd2 and her family come. Then they complain that they are eating our leftovers, well so are we. Last year dd1 cooked an extra turkey breast so that we would have plenty of turkey for sandwiches. Then we had 2 different dips and chips, a relish tray and all the desserts were uncut pies or whatever. So they had nothing to complain about. But dd2 kids drove dsonil crazy and he said no more. So I need to talk to dd1 about her going ahead and doing the dinner like we have been and including her inlaws. Then she can do the extra turkey breast like last year. Then we can come to my house for turkey sandwiches, etc. like we had last year and her dh can stay home and away from the kids.
I am hoping that this Christmas can be more normal. Last year, we had just moved. We put up the tree and put any new ornaments plus all of the Raggedy Ann ones and called it good. Everyone came for Christmas eve and it was so tense. That was the beginning of the end of my dgds15 being close. The day after Christmas I took the ornaments off the tree and we took it down. The end. I want more than that this year.
The "friend" who came between my dgds16, is now causing dgd16 daughter of dd1, a lot of trouble and pain. But that is a whole other teen drama. At least my 2 dgds16 can be together and talk now, but I don't think they will ever be close again. I hate that but will settle for "civil" and be thankful for it.
((((Okay))))

Finally, a.m. routine is done. I got dh's travels on my calendar; he thinks Toronto can work after all if I join him Thursday afternoon. . .. .Yes, it might work. Still kind of a short trip, but that might be OK. Laundry is finally going. I've also taken care of some moms group business - a small group swap of one woman for another in a different group, working out transportation for a student child care worker. I'm going to finish lunch by eating some split pea soup - instant, somebody's vegan brand I found at Whole Foods - while working on Hebrew. Then, I'll head to the groc. store.

Morning Y'all...
I am like everyone else here...thinking of Okay and sending prayers and hugs to her via airwaves.
Fall is in the air...and average day temps will now be in the high 90's. There's a shift in the winds and the sun's intensity is not as strong. Next week the temps should be in the lower 90's. I wait for these days
I took Willis on his first training session with me and he past. We happened to encounter a neighbor and her 2 dogs. I gave the command to sit as soon as Willis saw the dogs round the corner. He did and waited perfectly still as the dogs walked by. They were on the other side of the street, but in the past even that has been a challenge. Gives me confidence that Willis can handle more exposure to other dogs from a distant.
I have desk work, laundry and dust to concur .... Lawrence and his camels are peeking over the horizon, but he'll just have to wait for another time....
Lucylee...we have coyotes that walk through our community during the day on an occasion. More new houses in my community means less times this will happen. However their walking path is at the end of my street....perhaps 100 yards..and I am surrounded by open land outside of my community. Not unusual to see them at night crossing the road from one natural habitat to another. And as I've said here many times before, I love it when cool weather comes and I can sleep with my windows open...then I can hear them "singing" during the night and early morning. To me it sounds like music in my ears...
Gotta go feed Sweetie....BBL...cy'all............

Re: OKay Monday
I heard coyotes singing in Illinois and last night here in Kansas. It made me so homesick for AZ. I love full moons and coyotes singing the first night we are back.
I really don't fear them - in fact they keep the feral cat and rabbit population down.
So far I have downloaded a couple of books, filled the meds containers, and not much else. Maybe time for a nap.

Re: OKay Monday
Lilac, aren't you afraid you're setting yourself up to be very busy once you get trained at your DD's store? I hope your holidays are less stressful this year.
I'm sorta dreading holidays this year. DD2 is already talking about a family trip Christmas Day, and that makes planning tough, especially since DD1 shares her kids with X and won't have them till late afternoon. I just wish there was a simpler way of planning things.
I spent some time going through a file and putting it together, making a critical decision and writing a check. That's been OMM for a couple weeks.
I have all around the computer and halfway over to next desk cleared of papers. It's a start.

Cowinkie, it is wonderful to see how much you are enjoying your retirement. I am with you on sleeping with the windows open. I seem to sleep so much better.
I am about worthless today. At 3:30 I woke up sweating even though it was cool in the room with the windows open. Then I realized I was having a problem with my bs. When I went to bed about midnight it was 171. It had fallen to 31.
I was in the middle of a whammy of a crash. I just started eating and I remember being so confused about what to do. The one thing I was very aware of though was to eat! When I told dh this morning, he asked me why I didn't wake him up. I really wasn't thinking clearly enough to do that. Since I will be spending 2 nights in a hotel alone, I plan on taking plenty of things that I can eat if it happens there. As Nancy and any other diabetics here can attest to, after a crash, you feel like you have been put thru a wringer. I am not sure what is going on, whether it is the stress over this trip or I am trying to come down with something, but something is messing with my bs.
Well I better get some clothes ironed and a shower. Dgd17mos dr. appt is at the same time the boys get out of school, so I will be picking them up and keeping them until she can pick them up. Those 2 fight all the time and drive me crazy. As dh says, they have a "hearing" problem.

Harmony, I have told her that it is just on an emergency basis, her or the kids sick, that I will work all day and if I go in on call, it will just be thru the rush. She has mentioned an employee meeting tomorrow evening, but not directly to me. I decided I am not pushing it, because if she has changed her mind, yeah, because I am definitely not looking for or needing a job. Now when dh retires, that might be a different story.

Re: OKay Monday
OKay, I've been saying little prayers for you as I've been going about my morning routine.
Harmony, Sorry about the family Christmas Day trip, which makes it tough. My DD is divorced and has an "ex" and I don't know if she gets our grson on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. It makes planning a challenge.
Lilac, It sounds like working at your DD's store might be fun during the holidays. Don't get too tired though.
Emptynester, I absolutely LOVE hearing about your travels and escapades!
Hi Cowinkie! Your name sounds so cheerful to me. Fall is in the air here, too. But it's more like going to be 70* today, I believe or less. It's great that Willis is doing so well. He sounds like a smart dog.
Helia, It sounds like you've been busy, too. It's hard, sometimes, to bless everybody during the holidays. But when we do, I think it makes us feel good- and occasionally tired out, at least for me.
Lilac, Raggedy Ann ornaments sure sound cute. It's hard to have Christmas right after a move. Been there; done that.
Nancy, You're sure doing a lot of physical exercise! Wow!
Dee, It's nice you talked with DD so long. It's sad she's homesick, too.
Ta Da
- I cancelled my dr. appt. for tomorrow, as he suggested to do last Thurs. if the ear had healed over the weekend and was looking good! It is!
- I read my devotional, prayed, wrote in my journal.
- I ate breakfast, took meds, supplements, etc.. had coffee.
- I wrote on a story a little bit.
- I dumped trash from in the bathrooms.
- I cut coupons and an Autumn bookmark out for a friend and got her envelope ready with a sheet of Autumn paper. Will "try" to write her today or tomorrow.
- Hung up clothes in the bedroom, re-made the bed, set the dawn simulator for tomorrow.
- Put TP around the bathrooms, loaded and ran the DW.
- Got out a.m. clothes.
- Cleaned the kitchen counters.
- Stretched, walked 30 min., then stretched again.
- Crocheted on a Christmas gift afghan for our 17-month-old grson.
I'm going to take a nap this afternoon, I'm pretty sure because of doing so much so fast this morning. Worked up a sweat. But it's good to move, too. I needed to because I was so stiff this a.m. so now I feel much better and more limber with less pain.
Happy later morning and early afternoon, Ladies!
