I'll be okay with just hens if these eggs don't work out but the rest of the family may not be! Back from my walk saw a guy w/ his car wrapped around a telephone pole and two cop cars with lights flashing. The guy was standing by the cop car. Made me glad I was having a more together day than he was! Saw some deer on my walk too.

Good morning, villagers ~
Thanks for the lovely opening post, Scattered. Very well stated.

Last night I came home quite discouraged and frustrated from a meeting at the library. Reminder that I just joined this group. They've had a big fund-raising event on the calender at least 6 months, so I assumed that last night's meeting would be last-minute touch ups to the plan. Oh, no no no no -- they had only figured out a couple of little things. They've already sent out a bunch of advertising for the event, promising things that I'm not sure we can deliver. :(

So ... I offered my advice when they asked, made firm commitments for the time that I have available, and actually agreed to do a lot more hours of physical labor than I had originally expected to do. Then I came home and collapsed.

I felt better after I cuop here in the village. It calmed me enough to get some sleep.
This morning I am working more on adjusting my attitude to their way of doing things.

I have an eye appointment in The Big City this afternoon for regular tests. Hopefully I will have the sewing group's newsletter to take with me to the printer, I really don't want to have to drive in again tomorrow.

Then I'm going to try to fit in some fun shopping at a thrift store. I'll pick up a couple of good calzones to bring home for supper.

Oh Nancy, that's a good way of putting things in perspective. My day isn't going that swell, but at least I haven't wrapped my car around a telephone pole! :)

Mystery, I know, I know -thus the giggles.
may have been due to jiggle -- which is not a worry of mine!
This particular gal had PLENTY of that.

I made sure I had no metal on, Harmony, then remembered, of all things, my pedometer in my pocket. Lying flat on my back on the x-ray table for the bone density managed to set my back off, big time. Had to wait a while for it to calm down before I could go back to my car. Thank goodness that's only every 2 years. Probably will have dh go with me next time, if only to have someone to lean on when I'm done. Will talk to my own Dr. about a different mode of mammograms. I've read/heard about thermography and ultra sound. Since I've always had good ones so far, perhaps that might be an option for me.

Did up the dishes -had quite a few all of a sudden. Then I started on my dresser top/tv in the bedroom. Needed to get some way beside the bed for dh to put his fire pager -since we feel the need to make sure the closet doors are closed now that's it's more chilly. So moved some things around, moving one candle stand (that I didn't want in the living room anyway) into the bedroom and wallah -'tis done! Think dh will be impressed. There's not a lot of room in an RV to move things around as I'm sure MT will agree. I do have a bit more room in here because it's a park model, but nevertheless....... The alarm clock is by the TV and it has to be up high enough for dh to see it. That was the challenge. I like this 'candle' stand much better there anyway. I barely managed to fit the other basket stand I had between the bed and the wall. Now dh can put his charger there and all is well. Moved the portable tower heater into our bedroom (it had been sitting on the deck) and got it plugged in. Thought is we'll turn that on low during the night (when needed) and close our bedroom door and not turn on the furnace unless it gets real cold. Don't want water freezing. In that case I'll probably only set it at about 55* and dh will turn it up when he gets up.

I've put some half bricks in a bucket to de-clutter at some later point. Picked up apples, up and down the steps doing more laundry being active today it good! Breakfast is done now having some more coffee watering front is nearly done now so I'm feeling productive.

Still keeping my fingers crossed about the eggs but the good news about fewer is that they might fit in the bird cage I got for that; for the first week or so any way!

Are you getting eggs now, nancy? I probably missed that. I confess, I often do not do a thorough job of cuoping. Hehehe. .. a new verb.

I had coffee with dh. I checked our online bills, stripped the MBR bed, and gathered towels before I left. Now, I'm home and eating lunch, an instant soup cup - 3 WW points. I'll leave in about 2 hours to go to the park for my jog.

How nice it must be to have your dd2 and family close by again, Lilac! I hope at least one of my kids settles not too far away from us.

Our apple tree didn't make many apples this year, thank goodness! The apples are inedible and just make an incredible mess in the yard and on the road.

I'm a little stuffy today. I wouldn't say I have a full blown cold, but a little something has been hanging out with me for a few days. Two of my friends have been in bed with fevers and very painful sore throats. Both thought they had strep - and both apparently do not have strep.

Next:
-finish lunch, maybe some cott. cheese
-get laundry going
-map out the week, which I haven't done yet
-start making DPCs. . .

Got all the previous done.

Lunch is vegetable soup and the last package of cheese crackers I found downstairs. Must get more cheese crackers, as they are one of the emergency backup lunches I keep around. When they were attending school 5 min. from home, I could easily run something to school after dropping them should I oversleep or belatedly find out we had no bread for sandwiches. Now that they are :30 away, there's no way I'm going to make the hour round trip to drop off lunches, so I've been trying to keep cheese crackers, juice boxes, and fruit and pudding cups on hand to be able to throw a last-minute lunch together. Problem is keeping the girls from snacking on them. (OK, I must admit I have, too, once or twice.) I think the thing to do may be to actually put the lunches together ahead of time, especially I chose the ingredients to be shelf-stable.

Need to come up with an easy dinner for tonight. No hockey, but DH has his annual retreat group starting tomorrow, so he has to go shopping tonight. It takes a while to get enough food for a dozen teenage boys (and their two retreat leaders) for two physically active days! (DH's retreat is based on the challenge course he runs for the Scouts; the spiritual side is based around Mark 5:36, "Fear is useless; what is needed is trust," or more commonly, but less poetically, translated, "Fear not, but have faith.")

Oh, goodness, Nancy! I wonder if the deer had anything to do with the car wrapped around the telephone pole? I'm glad the driver is all right.

(((Bookie)))

Next up:
:15 figure out dinner & do any prep work needed
:15 clean up lunch & any mess left by dinner prep
:15 excavate dining table

BB@BOTH! (bottom of the hour)

Definitely Fall here -neighbors across the way are loading their car, preparing to leave for FL. Dneighbors right across pull out on Sunday -but they'll be at her dsis' a few miles away till later in October. They've sold their RV and the new ones are moving in next week. Will surely miss them. But they only live about 10 miles from DD's in FL so will see them. They plan to come back for potlucks, etc this fall and probably will next year. They'll stay with her sis and he will continue to work at the nearby golf course -at least that's the plan.

Just called to see when another ddfriend is leaving -4a.m. tomorrow. It is Fall!

I want to go do laundry but noticed friend a couple RV's away was heading that way. Think I'll wait until I know she's done. Would be better that way. ;)

Good to 'see' you, Debmasterx!

Good Morning, Villagers! :D

Scattered, you picked the perfect (are we "allowed" to use that word here?) word to describe Tuesday! Together! :D

I got up early, today's the day my antibiotic is taken from 2 taken 4 times a day and it goes down to 1 taken 4 times a day. The ear's okay, but my lymph glands feel awful, so I wonder if I picked up a "bug" at the dr. office last Thurs. when I was there. :? I'll wait and ride it out today, then decide tomorrow morning if I'll go back to taking the antibiotics 2 at a time 4 times a day again. :?: I could call my nurse, too. I guess.

I got up, started writing in my journal, was cranky because I don't feel 100%, wrote terrible things about being unhappy, etc... But later, when DH was in the shower, I ripped out 4 last pages of my journal, ripped them up and put them in the burn trash. I feel so much better for doing that, too, and feel journaling this morning was just a cathartic-type exercise, because my outlook is much better NOW- especially after a hot cup of coffee! :!:  Does anybody else ever do this? Wake up cranky and just hate everything and everybody, but once you've woken up and had the blessed coffee, your whole entire outlook changes? :?:

I planned my PODA last night, but don't know if I'll do them now. :?: But my "plans" were to:
- write out a Christmas card list
- do my stretches, walk 30 min., do stretches
- rest my elbow (not crochet!)
- read
- write a letter to someone

I might not walk or write the Christmas card list because I'm a bit under the weather. But we'll see what a (late) hot shower will do for me. I might feel better by then. ;)

My Ta Da so far:
- I put DH's coffee and chocolate in his mug while he was in the shower
- did emails, read obits, death notices, news
- made calendar reminders
- downloaded some free cookbooks and a couple of mysteries
- I ordered a .01 cent book called, "The Clutter Busting Handbook: Clean It Up, Clear It Out, and Keep Yourself Clutter-Free," by Rita Emmett. It's hardbound in very good condition, is coming from CT and they'll ship it out on Thurs. and I'm looking forward to this book SO MUCH! It's something I did for "me" this morning that I know will be helpful and is a good thing, too. I've ordered used books before, in very good condition and have been very happy with them when they've arrived and I've opened the pkg. :D

Dinner -- M arket D ay to the rescue! Had some frozen tomato soup with mini ravioli, which is now in the crockpot, and some garlic cheese bread, the sort that's individual slices that will take under :10 in the oven!
Lunch is cleaned up, and the dining table looks pretty decent except for a pile of paperwork next to my place. Hmm... I will have to go through that and see if there's anything that could be worked on while I wait in the car line. Also in the car line, I will work on a small grocery list I can shop for while helping DH shop for retreat. I have finally broken down and gotten a cell phone, which is supposed to arrive Friday, so then, I could even post here from the car line! 8-)

Fall here, too, Dee. I'm wearing fleece for the 2nd day in a row and long sleeves for the 4th. I think with the electric blanket we'll be able to hold out till the end of September before turning on the heat, though, which is always our goal. After the beastly summer, I appreciate the chill, though.

Deb was peeking in? Cool!

Tidying the papers (including today's newspaper) on the dining table reminds me to wish Twins and Cathyy an easy fast!

Ivy, calling the nurse sounds like a good idea. And what you say about coffee -- isn't that what coffee's for? ;) I do hope you're feeling better soon!

Will tidy the coffee table & check on the playroom before I head out, but that's all; I want to head out early and make a couple of stops on the way to pick up the girls -- drop off the box camera that dd took on her field trip last week and a couple of other box cameras I have laying around at the drugstore to be developed, and stop at the bank to get change to pay the girls' allowances, which they should have gotten on Friday. If we don't pay them, they might start stinking again! ;)

Whether I will be back after picking up the girls is always iffy....
