Re: Willing Wednesday
Cool about HRH's invention, Harriet!
I'll think of him whenever I eat a bun w/ cornmeal on top. And that shows great commitment to his wife that he refused to take the job in Ohio, although that would have put you a lot closer to me.
And Sweetie's many inventions too, I think I forgot to say how I smiled when I read them! Why am I NOT surprised to find many of our dhs are creative thinkers - inventors and designers, etc.?
I bet my dh would enjoy chatting with many dhs here! His most widely used invention (probably more like a design) is probably microchips that used to be (not sure if they still are) found in most American made autos, including the tires, I want to say. . . I think that was Motorola work, not UM. . . .

Re: Willing Wednesday
Mr. Guy is now reading everything I printed out about Sweetie. His remark was - "He is just brighter than bright" and "this is just the head of the pin". Sweetie doesn't talk about himself much - you have to drag it out of him. Former Breadman Mr Guy also read about HRH and the cornmeal dusted buns and was impressed. I think we have a whole village of very intelligent DHs here. (I sure don't want them to know that though!)
Have meant to post how nice it is to have Ivy, Mystery Woman and Scattered here. I love reading their posts. I'm not known for much more than 1 a week so it is nice to have people who post such interesting stuff.
Forgot to mention the huge hail storm we were in last Friday night. Our friends drove us to downtown Indianapolis and we were caught in the biggest hail storm ever. We had to pull off and sit for awhile because we couldn't see around us. They are natives and they had never seen such a storm.
I was so afraid the car was going to be damaged. Fortunately it wasn't.

Re: Willing Wednesday
There's too many pages for me to cuop right now.
Did get the floors swept and the main floor tidied before my meeting to day with our financial guy. That went well, I was able to hold my own. Thank heavens for reading the Economist and listening to the financial report each morning - I knew Kraft was splitting up and asked about it before he raised it plus I knew about some other trends he was talking about. Poor dh zones out because he knows nothing, much like me when I'm listening to a conversation with his friends on standards committees. At one point, I thought of making financial planning a career which is why I should be able to hold my own. Didn't do that, but my training really helped our own financial security over the years. Although being naturally frugal probably helped more!
Mystery I understand what you are saying about pushing myself too hard but the physical reaction I get lasts only hours (until my rest is over) not days so I figure it is simply defining a limit. I will accept doing only a portion of what I normally do, but I won't accept doing absolutely nothing. Doing nothing is an option. Except for some of the finance stuff I do for the business, I could hire out housework, give up church activities and give up offering myself as available to preach, going out to see friends and any hope of travel or even trips into the city for dinner and a movie.
I'd be free to lie in bed and read all day, or watch tv and movies and surf as much as I like. But I figure any advantage to healing would be offset by complete muscle loss and my back completely giving up the ghost and me returning to being disabled. I'd rather take 18 months to heal but not give up a lot of mobility, than heal in 12 months and spend another year or more trying to recover my mobility, lose the fat and regain muscle.

Re: Willing Wednesday
Good Morning, Villagers!
We stayed up watching Jay Leno last night, so I got to sleep very late.
I'm slow moving this morning, have a poda planned, but don't know if it'll work out today, as I imagined last night, it would be like for me today. Does this make sense? Plans change.
PODA:
- Laundry
- Stretches before and after walking
- Crochet 1 round in the a.m. & 1 round in the p.m. on the gift afghan. (Am trying not to overdo the elbow).
- Read
- Edit a story (I keep second-guessing it, coming up with corrections to it, and feel like it stinks and like I'm ruining it. I keep procrastinating, need to finish, I'm frustrated! Seems to be so hard for to do.) I don't know if I should get it over with and Just Do It- or let it rest and work on something more fun than such a serious story.
Am so stalling!
(((((Kathryn))))) Good luck at the specialist's tomorrow.
Twins' Mom, Good luck with the words you'll be saying today.
Lucylee, Habits are to be broken sometimes, I think. At least that's my case. Good luck with the car. It brings back "not fun" memories.
Scattered, Once again, "Willing Wednesday" was a great title to the PWYC. I need to make myself MORE WILLING today! I think after my coffee is finished and I've showered (am so late!), I'll "get"there.
Helia, Your art project at your house reminded me of our DD when she lived at home and had art project messes leftover.
Dee, Sorry you lose your posts. I wonder where they "go"?
Emptynester, Soup is GR8 on a rainy day!
MysterWoman, You have a big day ahead of you! You sound like you have so much energy!
Waving to OKay and Blessedw2!
Nancy, Good luck on the eggs!
Cowinkie, Your DH sounds absolutely intelligent!
Harriet, Your HRH sounds brilliant, too!
Hope everyone's days are going well and Happy Hump Day to you all!

Re: Willing Wednesday
Hello dear ladies,
For some reason our internet is iffy, was here earlier but couldn't post so waited until now.
We had a good rain this morning and now we have sunshine.
didn't get a good night's rest, last night. DH was restless, having back pains and so I slept about 4 hours. During that time I had a dream about being stuck in a car on top of a very tall building and trying to figure out how to get down. I think I watch too many action movies with my guys.
Last night's dinner with Felecia and co-workers went well. It was nice to socialize with friends without being on the clock. We all laughed a lot.
In honor of Andy Williams, I found "Moon River" on the internet and did slow graceful exercise movements to it.
Thank you Elly, for the Bible Recomendations. I'm going to look it up.
I'm going to rest now before heading off to work. Right now I need toothpicks to keep my eyes open. I just focused on the 3D's today.

Hello Ladies!
I finished my short story and sent it off. It was about a woman with fibromyalgia because I've got it, too, and I wanted to make it as true to life as I could. I suppose this is why I'd been procrastinating on it. Maybe it was too painful to write
although I had the main character have a positive attitude.
DH is grocery shopping, so I'm off to work on a ta da list to report later on. I'm so glad I got the story done. It helped me to write to you this morning, how I'd been procrastinating on it, which made me want to DO it, so I could report to you. So thank you for being here, to "listen". It means a lot to have a village to come to.
Have a GR8 afternoon, Ladies!

Re: Willing Wednesday
Well, we didn't stay home and make soup. It quit raining so we went and played tourist. Darling little town of Marquette, KS. Kansas motorcycle museum (run by man's widow - sat and listened to her story for about an hour), Drug store with soda fountain, lots of artsy places, great people even better architecture. I'll have to do a whole blog on the town, food and people with about a zillion pictures.
Found birthday card for Dbro. Found a heavy pottery vase-like pot for me to put kitchen utensils in for the counter at the house.
I realized as we crossed the Smokey Hill River that I read a book of the same name by one of DH's favorite authors. Now I want to find it for his Nook so he has something to read.
PS: My DH made neutron counters that were the proto-type of what went up in Skylab. Does that count for inventing??

It’s never too late to be what you might have been.

Re: Willing Wednesday
This is the last day of turning eggs thanks for the good wishes on the hatch. Wonder if that's a good enough excuse for missing church? We have eggs hatching LOL!
Back from a store run and errands finally found jeans in my size but they only had one pr. of the ones in my budget in the dark color I wanted! Sigh~ Oh well that's all I could afford anyway. They are in the dryer now.
Walk is done. Journaling is as well. I have a plan for dinner turkey sausage patties with g.b. @ Albertson's recall here glad I have it to use.
