Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
You can't really tell I've actually done any thing it looks and feels
like I've just been spinning my wheels. Picked up hot spots in the creativity room. Including but not limited to picking up sever puzzles
after dgd was done with those.
Lunch is done and I've cleaned up after morning cookie dough mixing adventures. Processed the mail.
Heading to the man cave to vacuum next up.
My first real job other than baby sitting was dish washer in a cafe' one summer. You can't really tell I've actually done any thing it looks and feels like I've just been spinning my wheels.

The chicken whisper's guide is in lib. just called ya-ho-o!

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
20 minutes? That's all, Helia. No, not bad at all!
My first real job (other than the usual babysitting -for $.25/hr I might add- and cleaning house for dMom's boss (I could have sworn she always left the dishes for a week for me to do.
) I worked at a T astee Free ze, which added a restaurant. I only worked for a couple of months and then our Dr. asked them to let me go. He was concerned because my knees were bothering me & I had had multiple bouts with rheumatic fever. At least I got my social security card back then.
Dh and I went to town, filled the gas tank -five cents off on Thursday so it was $3.94 today. At least it's 'down' a little bit. Hoping it comes down a lot by the time we leave for FL in 5 weeks or so.
Have dinner thawing -the guy who often brings us a meal (just because he likes to cook) gave us chili which I froze in smaller portions.

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
OKay My question for you is why you took so long to end this drought?!!!!
I CAN FLY!!!!!!!
(Only with the help of an airline, in case you were wondering...)
Specialist is ordering more detailed blood tests and will fax me the requisition, with a copy of the results ordered to be sent to me as well. He made me copies of the one set of tests I was missing and I gave him copies of the 3 sets of mine that he was missing. Verbally told him that the ultrasound was fine (he had not heard that.) Apparently, he made a note to his booker to scheduled me for August 20 but then all heck burst forth in his life. His father fell and broke his ankle and ended up dying from complications. The specialist still cannot believe it, nor the care that he received at 'the hospital I trained in.' Apparently, things did not go well.
He gave me a quick exam and says liver and spleen feel fine (which confirms the ultrasound and is what I expected.) He explained the reason I couldn't lie on either side when I was really sick was because both spleen and liver were probably swollen and sore at that point. That I can now is another confirmation that all is mended.
Harriet: he is pro probiotics, says it they will make my liver happier. He is also pro exercise and says that the more I can do, the sooner I'll recover. He suggested charting my progress so I'll be able to see it happening. He suspects almost full return of my energy level by Christmas. He felt we could have gone on the cruise, but when he realized I'd be gone a month and then the 30 hours of travel back he agreed it was right to cancel.
He sounds very confident this is behind me now. Still no idea why it happened. No mention of a biopsy. He will pursue autoimmune, though and is planning to get the file from my rheumatologist. It has been so long since I saw her, I can't remember her name.
I will see him again in November or early December. His booker will call with that. I'm to bring him jelly beans next time I visit.
Dh loved him. I did too. Well worth the wait.

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
I'm exhausted now and home. Got cranky with dh on the way home because I'm very tired and he was rushing me and adding unsuccessful errands.
I have an email to write and then I can go to sleep. Wrote most of it in the car and at lunch but couldn't send it because my computer was too low on power and was having connect issues everywhere we were.

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
Always pretty wonderful when you can like the Dr so well, Kathryn. We both felt that way about the pulmonologist dh saw this summer. And his P.A. and our dentist -they're all so good! I'd probably go back to dh's PA (went to him some years ago) but 1. it's so far there and 2. I'm pretty sure he'll be retiring about the time I would decide to go back there. So, unlike Okay, I don't want to 'jinx' it. But you're right, if pulling everything out would bring the rain, why DIDN'T you do that earlier, Okay?
The year our middle DS was born it had not rained in weeks! Plan was to pull off the entire 2nd story of our house, which they did, so they could frame it 4th of July weekend. You guessed it -it poured! Everyone was bringing us tarps and there were pails everywhere downstairs. The 3 kids and I ended up going into the city and staying with friends. There was no place to put a newborn (he was 10 days old) where it wasn't dripping! A lot of the guys working on the new highway going past our house also leant a hand trying to get things covered.
Boy, I sure can digress. No wonder I'm a SHE.

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
Good afternoon! I have come and gone from the doctor and will have to have blood work (no surprise). She agreed that my thyroid levels may be too low. I am having people over to my house Monday night!!! All the house clean up that has been put off needs to be done (not too bad). However, they are coming to sew and the sewing room is the stash and dash place. Better do something about that! This will get me off my franny and actually get things set up so I can sew again, so it is good. Last night I got the errands done that I needed and the load of laundry finished except not folded and put away. I tried to work with DFosterCat, but she did not cooperate. She is not going to like it when we invade her sewing room! I also looked up my entire pay this year to see the lawyer on Tuesday about child support. AND I figured out row 3 on the crochet rug pattern that has been plaguing me. I will keep my notes with the pattern. I ate too much at lunch and now I feel stuffed.

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
I have finished the document evaluation! Yeah!!! Now all I have to do is back up the stuff to keep. It's all in one folder, just a matter of renaming the folder and dragging into place. Then I have to uninstall some software. I still feel like I ate way too much. Tonight, I should call my friend who had gall bladder surgery. They told her she could go back to work in a few days, they told me two weeks! Of course, I was 6 months pregnant at the time, maybe that is the difference. Mom came through her surgery just fine and came home same day. My brother's exFIL is doing well, but is still in hospital (this is expected for his surgery). I have not heard about the other person's surgery, but don't expect to hear anything until I see his wife on Saturday. Way too many people I know in hospital Monday.

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
Hey.
I tried to make that sound as energetic as I truly am.
Wait, I'll try again.... ... Hey!... ya'll... how ya doin'?
(Using this today for a "my tongues hanging out" smilie, not a "phffft" smilie)
I've been at the doctor 2 times today, x-ray, and then specialty pharmacy. Dd has pulled ligaments. She will be in an "ankle stirrup" and will have physical therapy. It will be all right. Bless her heart. She is a little discouraged, but like HRH always says, if her head is fine and she gets our jokes, we will not worry about a foot. (Seems he has had to say this a lot since beginning it to comfort me after ds' fall/surgery.)
My TaDa today has been accomplishing all this during her lunch hour and during just one class - PE, in which she could not have participated anyway. She got to Psych, WHistory and I got her back 2 minutes before Engineering with a doctor's note for the single missed period.
(see note above) So in theory she did not have an "absence". \
This specialty pharmacy had to refer us somewhere else, so there is no "TaDa" for fitting yet, which is concerning.
I have CUOP but had to skim a little so I am thinking I missed something here probably.
Still, I feel better just "chatting".
Elizabeth, friends coming over to sew! How cool is this. Hope you get even more good reports on family and friends.
Nancy, what a fun title for your new reading book.
Kathryn and Harmony have come in with the news that releases me to tell my dream I had a week or more back. The 3 of us were in a hospital room for 3, lined up in our white beds. Harmony was very near the door and Kathryn near the balcony (seemed to make sense at the time) and I was in between. The doctor stood at the foot of my bed and explained to all of us that he had pushed Harmony's bed over there since she was almost "out the door" because she was an easy fix. And that we were waiting to see if Kathryn was well enough for him to push her bed onto the balcony, because if she could go to the sunshine it would get her completely well. I wouldn't post anything about this very vivid dream because what if Harmony was not so easy a fix, or what if Kathryn couldn't fly to Granada or other sunny spot (which I took to be my dream-meaning of well enough to go to the sunny balcony).
Whew! Glad to get to tell that! Answers all 'round in other posts today make me happy. Both of you are virtually 100 percent already according to my dream. Done and done.
Wait a minute. I don't remember any opinion on me at all, which did not surprise me in the dream. LOL! Maybe I'd better go find that dream doctor again!

Re: Thoughtfully Thursday
At the rink w/DD -- well, I should say, "waiting for DD." Got here late -- learned that we need to allot double the time during rush hour, not because of the highway, but because the crawl of traffic for the mile or so between the highway exit and the rink. I'm sure it didn't win DD any points with the coach, who was ticked because the girls who were there on time were chit-chatting in the locker room instead of getting dressed. She said (I should say "hollered"), "We only have one hour of ice time -- we got the ice 10 minutes early, and we're getting on it 3 minutes late!"
Obviously, I got the kids picked up from school, and DH as well. Amusing (to me, not to DH) incident when we were unloading the car: He had a little bit of food left over from the retreat, including a full bottle of Coke. Well, I imagine it was shaken up a bit from the ride home, because it fell when he opened the back of the van, and when it hit the ground, the cap shot off, and the bottle shot at least 25 feet in the other direction, across the yard! (And it was regular Coke, not diet, and there weren't any M entos in sight!
) DH was not amused b/c some of the Coke got on his sleeping bag & blanket, which means I will not be amused at having to take them to the laundromat.
My cellphone is in Columbus! It's supposed to arrive tomorrow; I've been checking the F ed E x tracking all week in anticipation.
I spent almost all the time between arriving home and leaving for here either helping DH unload or printing out paperwork for him to distribute at dd's practice. I don't envy him having to distribute it; it wouldn't have been difficult for me to get it to parents while their kids were on the ice, but DH is going to have to get it to people after he & the kids get off the ice and try to collect as much as he can before going home. I have another parent co-managing with me this season, to cover when I can't be there b/c of DD's schedule, but his DD won't be there on Thursdays till the end of October -- we were originally supposed to have our practices on Wednesdays, and they signed their DD up for a class on Thursdays. So they should be available on Thursdays around the time that DD's Thursday practices are supposed to shift so they no longer conflict w/dd's -- go figure!
Speaking of irony, you really should have done something to end that drought much sooner, OKay!
(All right, strictly speaking, irony is about what you don't expect, rather than what you don't want -- and there are days when what I don't want is exactly what I do expect -- but face it, this sense has been around long before A lanis M orrisette.)
The Z amboni is on the ice, and the girls are off it, so we'll be heading home soon!
