Finally Friday
WooHoo it's Friday! Working 5 days a week for two weeks in a row is tough on me as I'm use to only working 4 days a week. I'm working a 12 hour shift today to get a little bit of overtime.
Yesterday was a busy day; worked 7-3:30 then DP followed me home to finish going through the Card file, sent the DS's to pick up pizzas, took DS13 to his Back to School night, then it was home to bed. DS13 is allowing some of his grades to slip due to not doing his homework and reading books in class, he was really not happy with me when I started blessing him out. Before bed DS19 asked what happened and when I explained he got very parental, because that is exactly what he did and he ended up barely making it through HS.
Well, time to get my coffee cups ready to go and get out the door. Have a great day villagers, not sure if I will have the energy to check in when I get home.

Re: Finally Friday
Yes, finally Friday, I do have some things on the agenda tho.
Plumber for the disposal here in possibly 15 minutes? Need to clean up the kitchen!

Re: Finally Friday
Been awake for over an hour, but am only as far as 1/2 dressed! Shower, meds & coffee are done. Now for breakfast.
DH and I tried the new pizza place in town last night -he had wings and I had a chicken quesidilla. Brought 1/2 of it home for lunch today.
Been making l**ts of l**ts for year-end. About 5 weeks from now we'll probably be out of here. 2 neighbors pulled out with their MHs a little while ago. Know they're not leaving, leaving. I haven't seen anyone this week -because of not feeling up to snuff, so had no idea they were even going anywhere. Did notice they put their golf carts next door, so obviously gone for the weekend. Wonder if that means our neighbors aren't coming for the weekend.
Have to go pick up some materials for dh today at a lumber place about 15 miles from here. He's ordered specially cut roofing to make a little 'lean-to' in the back of our shed. Hoping that means that some things will be hung out-of-sight? Guess the shed is HIS man cave. Where is that 'shudder' icon?
Since we won't have company this weekend after all, think I'll start pulling and packing. Have to inventory what I have in food so I can plan on using most of it. No matter what there's always things to be given to the dks at the end of the year. Found the mouse discussion pretty interesting. Last year we battled them for quite a few weeks -this year/winter we've had none so far. But in an RV right over the berm from a big field -oh yeah there's going to be some! Try to cover everything while we're gone for the winter.
Forever battling procrastination!

Uh, I think a lot of us have THAT problem, Mystery. Think that's why we're SHEs.if she spent half as much time working on her HW as she does avoiding it, she'd have been done long ago
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hmmmm... I think y'all were talking about me yesterday...if she spent half as much time working on her HW as she does avoiding it, she'd have been done long ago
I, too, am sooo glad it is Friday!!! Busy day, as it is the end of the six weeks, but I am finally beginning to see some progress in getting things on track at school. Dgs will be here tonight for a few hours, then tomorrow we are all going to nearby festival where ds's band is playing, * NO BALLGAME * and Sunday will be a "normal" day for us. So yes... I am more than ready for the weekend! Hope y'all have a great Friday!
Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Finally Friday
Mystery, my dd was the same. I don't know if you remember the battles we used to have. You weren't here the year dd was a senior when she was failing senior English and wellness and needed them to graduate.
But college has been completely different - 3.2 GPA for last year.
Plumber has been here, only took a couple of minutes to pull a tiny screw out of the disposal. Also painters showed up today to repair the wall where the nook shelves were installed. I need to be out of here at 10:30 or so to meet VP-Admin at my office, and we'll have a quick lunch and talk, and at noon we have a conference call with two folks from our "movement" regarding the rabbinic issues.
Other than that, I will do some clean up/straighten up around here and perhaps a shabbas dinner? Hummmmm.....need to think about that.

Re: Finally Friday
Good Morning!
My day started with responding to a txt from LO father. I wasn't finished with that txt discussion before I received a long phone call from DGS17......all before the sun came up!
Yesterday evening it stopped raining for a few hours and allowed us to move some of the Man Cave (MC) stuff around. Now about 75% of it has been deal with. DH took one load to GWill and another pickup load to the trash. I suspect there will be a couple more loads of trash before we finish this impromptu MC project. My sweet but totally ornery DBrother called yesterday morning to offer DH a place to stay. DBro said he drove by our house and saw all of DH MC stuff in the yard and thought I might have kicked him out.
Today DH has another fasting blood work done. He normally has one done every 4 months before his regular diabetic checkup with family doc. Yesterday he went for the blood work and found out the doctor had also ordered him to collect & save all his pee for 24 hour and to come back for the 2nd fasting blood test today. Strange. I've never heard of this combination of tests.
OMM =
** It rained overnight so the MC project is on hold until it dries up some. 80% chance of rain today so it might be a day or two.
** Need to take DH pickup to local repair guy today. The door handle stopped working.
** Need to follow up on DGS17 request he made this morning.
** Follow up on DH missing med (mail order)
** Research Home insurance solution. We were notified a couple weeks ago our insurance company is cancelling all homes in the country due to the fire danger.
** SHE cards. Start small. Baby steps. I can't juggle 100+ of them yet, but I can do a few.
** LO haircut after school

Re: Finally Friday
Good morning!
My cellphone is loaded onto a delivery truck about 35 miles from here, according to the delivery website. Anyone want to take bets on 1) when it will arrive and 2) how much work I'll get done once it does?
If I don't get distracted by the shiny, new toy, I should be able to get a fair bit done today; I don't have to drive either run (the other parent, a geologist, is going to be there today to teach a couple of the classes about rocks, so he's going to handle both trips), so that gets me an extra hour+.
And now I've wasted much of an hour reading an article in the New Yorker (started it over breakfast and just kept reading...). Must. Get. On. Track.
So, where do I get off complaining about dd and her homework, huh?
Thanks (I think) for pointing out that that apple hasn't fallen far from the tree. Still feeling like I need to find something that works for her, though. I have l**ts for the girls up on a white board in the dining room, and that's done wonders for DD -- she's just, boom, boom, boom, check, check, check, all done. And her getting all done seems to put dd into even more of a tailspin, because she's still doing her homework while her big sister has time to play.
OK, before next TOTH, I want to:
• say prayers
• go over yesterday's cards
• s2s
• make bed
• tidy bathroom
• clean up breakfast
See you at the "crossroads"!
Yikes! My package just arrived. Will. Not. Get. Distracted. Will. Not. Get. Distracted. It is a brown box; it is not shiny....

Re: Finally Friday
Okay, I'm down to about an hour before I need to leave. Painters are done and gone. We also need to turn in our 90 day repairs/touch ups to be done.
Between now and then I need to:
-get cleaned up and dressed, etc.
-make li%t for rest of day (first time I've looked at a li%t since Tuesday)
-check on ingredients for recipe for supper

Re: Finally Friday
We are up and waiting for the fog to burn off. We feel like we are in some type of goth movie right now.
Had a wonderful time in Lindsborg, KS yesterday. Ate Swedish meatballs and took lots of pictures.
Came back to the rig to download and needed to run a virus scan which ran the rest of the night. So no blog update.
We should be in a quiet place tonight so maybe I can get some work done.

Re: Finally Friday
Got the previous all done, though it took a bit longer than I hoped. Not because I got distracted by the shiny toy, or at least not that shiny toy -- I had my pedometer in my pajama pocket, and I couldn't find it when I went to transfer it to my pants pocket after s2s. Grr!
I like your punctuation of "li%t," Twins!
Sounds like today is a road day, MT?
Next up:
• review plans for the day
• find where DD hid the funnies & read them
• start a load of wash
Any time between finishing those and 11 am I will grant myself to making a cup of tea and opening the shiny toy. BB@TOTH with the update!
