Ditto what Dee said, OKay! Don't let your guard down.
Of course, part of me is thinking, that is 48 hours away, who knows what excuse they'll make for not showing up at all...
but please, do be careful.
Tomorrow is another day.

A few hours ago I was planning to make dinner tonight...of course, I haven't done anything except pick up ingredients so I need to get rolling.

-clear kitchen counters (again, there's still stuff I pulled out for the plumber)
-clear kitchen table
-flowers (that I bought on Monday) into a nice vase

Frustrating day. I'm trying to get the Silent Auction set up. Early this week, I could not print from Open Office (my word processing program.) I was several versions behind, so rather than try and fix the problem, I downloaded and installed version 3.4.1, not without problems but finally got it.

Yesterday I typed up the list of 40 items we have for the auction, by item number, description, category, value, and minimum bid amount. As is my habit, I saved my work but left the file open. Oh, and I save in .doc mode automatically so when I send something to someone with Word, they can open it.

The category was to put everything pretty on a sheet people could make personal notes on because the items were to be displayed upstairs, but the bid sheets would be downstairs.

Today, set up happened and they left room for me downstairs, so we didn't need the personal note sheets to be handed out to everyone. Great, that means 60 less things to print off!

We laid everything out for display and then I came home and started to build the bid sheets. It is a matter of cutting the info I have in my master chart and putting onto a bid sheet. Easy-peasy.

Except, unbeknownst to me, my files had been saved but were all corrupted. Everything I've written since Wednesday is corrupt and unusable. And in the process of dh trying to fix things, the master list got closed so the file is now completely unrecoverable and has to be rebuilt by hand. Except I had done internet research to find the values of things and EVERYTHING is at the church so if we miss anything, we'll have to come back and fix it here and then go back with the corrected sheets.

Dh is in the process of retyping from my incomplete hand notes (they didn't have to be correct, if I needed to know the amount of a gift certificate, or the brand of an item, for instance, I could walk over to the dining room and look at it.)

I'm in the process of removing version 3.4.1 and reinstalling version 3.2 although I have no idea if doing so will recover the printer.

Sigh.... I don't need this. When I have 2 hours of productive time after my nap, spending 1 hour of it recovering from a crashed program does not make for a happy camper.

Ouch, Kathryn! That really, really stinks!

The house next door finally closed today and a moving truck just pulled up, so they are moving in. It turns out that only one child lives there permanently, there are two more that live with their mom mostly. A blended family.

That round is done...another:
-check in with dh to see what his time frame is...I hope he didn't decide to go to temple!
-reboot laundry
-clear 10 things off the tall breakfast bar

Debmaster Glad Dee could help you. Now that I have a smart phone, I'm hit or miss getting here when using it and suspected your problem was mine, but I have the right address, so that isn't it.

We discovered that it was only files I created with tables that crashed. Yes, that's all the auction ones, but my health diary is unscathed. And I was able to recover, in v3.2 the data that was in the table in v3.4 so I could read it off to dh and he could update what he typed to match what I had at the end.

Dh has gone to pick up pizza for dinner and then we'll type up the bid sheets. My perfectionism/marketing personality is getting in the way. Something like a gift certificate, it will sell itself. Something like the ugly throw pillows won't unless you market them as Soft Bun Warmers and suggest people buy them to keep on their pew so they don't have to sit on a cold pew in the winter! And someone donated a set of Bose QC15 noise cancelling headphones. I'll be bidding on them, as will the minister's dh (we both fly a lot) but they are also useful for people who want to watch tv at night without disturbing other in the household. New, they sell for $300 so I'm hoping to get at least $200 for them (I might buy them myself.)

(((((Kathryn))))), It all sounds so challenging! :( Sorry about that.

Debmasterex, WTG that you got to post from your iPad! :D

Twins' Mom, You sound like you've sure had a full day with everything going on! Happy dining to you. :D

DH got home from Costco and 2 stores, I helped him put things away. Then he looked at me "funny", yet very excitedly happy and said, "You've only been to appt.'s lately! How would you like to get out of the house?" I said, "But I need to take my antibiotic first." He said fine, asked me if I wanted to get a nightgown. I took my pill, we drove 10 miles West to a favorite store, there was nothing good there. We came home for a min. so I could take a pill and eat yogurt. Went to Costco, he had a hot dog, pop and I had a chocolate swirl frozen non-fat yogurt. We found nothing I wanted at Costco, so we went to another store. Nothing there. He said, "Let's go to JCP!" We did, I found a lovely lounging pajamas set in rayon/spandex. Grey top and snakeskin print bottoms.

We get home, he looks at me, and says, "Well, GOOD! I can watch some FOOTBALL tomorrow now!" I let him watch all he wants, so it was a bit odd. Now he seems to have a clean conscience from buying the lounging pajamas, so I'll let him watch all he wants. ;) Always do, really.

We were gone about 2 1/2 hours, I'm tired, hot, and it's in the mid-seventies now. It was nice to get out, be around people, get fed, etc.... I haven't gotten anything done around the house or on my PODA except walk a lot at stores. I guess this is mid-to-late afternoon and I have time to get a few things done before dinner and then later, before bed.

Happy later afternoon and evening, Villagers. I just had to share how nice it was to get out of the house. (I gave up driving because of my eyes.) :(

Hi everyone, I am almost ready to leave payroll for the weekend. I have so much to do, a real long list. Tonight, I need to get started on cleaning up the sewing room so people can use it Monday. Other clean up as well, but that is the most pressing, LR won't take long, and kitchen is usually kept up. My book on hold is finally in!!! Tuesday night, I will be in (temporary) posession of the Happy Hooker (a crochet book). Tonight, I also want to call and check on my friend who had gall bladder surgery. I also need to balance checkbook (yuck), do a LOL, and fold the last LOL. Friday night is usually a lonesome night for me because DD10 comes over on Saturday now, but October should relieve some of that. There is a knit/crochet group that meets on Friday nights at a yarn store starting in October and lasts through the winter. Tomorrow is cat adoption clinic and I will be there with 2 of my 3 fosters. The other foster finally came out of her hide a bed when I fed her last night. She just doesn't trust people or other cats. More time needed for sure! I need to get serious about putting some resumes out too.

Harmony: I am sorry to hear about you being diagnosed as hypothyroid. I am too and will probably be adjusting my meds soon. The good news is that it is usually just a matter of taking pills. I hope you find your right dosage soon and that things get easier.
