Ivy, this is a new tv, the delivery I was waiting on this morning. HRH shopped for it partially trying to repay dstepson for outdoor work done here over the summer. He looked at online deals for a while until he found a bargain for his birthday and dstepdil's, 2 days apart.
Hoping the Emptynesters had uneventful travel after the fog lifted. (And glad we found out it did lift quickly)
Thinking of OKay and helia's posts and the concept of "studying ahead"... ... dd had blurted out the question at curriculum night to next semester's English teacher, "Will we be reading any books?" and was given two titles. I'm wondering about getting them for her now, ahead of time. We already know next semester will be a tough one, and the science class still may be AP/honors - it is in limbo right now because of a teacher's medical situation, waiting on a decision about who will teach.
She doesn't have constant pain in the ankle, Harmony. It is more like potential pain and the hope of strengthening it. So she will have to wear this splint for P.E. class. I'll be interested to see what the P.T. is - they didn't call today, though, to set anything up. Hmmm ... ... Good job on the nap. I know you meant nursing home. (smiling at Sunny)
Kathryn, did technology finally stop attacking you today? It sounded like quite a battle I wouldn't have wanted to wage.

Re: Finally Friday
Harriet, Did HRH get 2 TV's? 1 for your dstepdil AND HRH, both?
That's amazing to get good on-line deals so close together.
I enjoy hearing about Emptynester's escapades and travel, the weather, and what they're eating, where they're going, and who they meet, too.
That's too bad, Harriet, about the teacher's medical situation and things being in limbo, as to who will teach. Do you think dd will be studying ahead?
I hope PT for the ankle brings her new strength in the ankle and a healing, too. I've had ankle PT and wear AFO's, which are Ankle-Foot Orthotics. Mine are suede, heavy-duty plastic or acrylic with Velcro to close them and steal. I'd say they come 8" up on my shins/calves. They're for balance because I pronated, kept twisting my ankle, and was spraining it. I'm a "Walker Woman", so this interfered with my exercise regimen so much. I'd be laid up, elevating, icing, and would wear an ankle brace, which is OTC and an elastic slip-on one. Eventually my podiatrist suggested this, after many cortisone shots and ankle PT. He said he believes I inherited pronating from one or both parents. It's wonderful to be able to walk daily now, but I won't wear skirts in public because of them showing. They've become a part of me now.
Kathryn, You had quite a day today! I hope you get a good rest and enjoy that shower in the morning, too. It sounds like a busy day for you.
Sunny, You sound like me! I'm practically a hermit and would rather stay home, too.
I've only been out for appt.'s for a month now, 1 day a week. So getting out today was a real treat.
Harmony, I don't think any wife can understand how their DH thinks.
At least after 42 years, I've not figured mine out yet. He throws something new at me, almost as though we just met.
Mystery, I bet you're enjoying getting acquainted with that phone.
Elizabeth, The Happy Hooker sounds like a great book. Are all the patterns crochet or does she put knitting ones in, too?
I have some dry clean laundry on the back of the sofa laying flat, for me to put away, but I also have a load of socks, underwear and 1 of my tops drying. DH put them in for me. I'll fold/hang all the laundry at the same time tonight, before bedtime. I was reading 3 short stories on my Nook. They were good. 1 was about a Native American chest, which was carved, 1 was a story about a wife who decided to remain with her husband and not divorce him after he'd had an affair, sad story, and 1 was a thriller murder mystery, which was gory, so I hope I can get to sleep okay tonight.
I want to write EOD cards tomorrow, for cleaning on every other day.
Have a good sleep, Everybody! Goodnight.....
