RE: Seeing the sky - I realized a few days ago as we went thru Kansas that I suddenly could see the sky and wide horizons. My soul just sang. I love the wide open spaces and the feeling of freedom when not crowded by trees and buildings. This happens every year as we head west. My friends joke as I complained about the green tunnels of trees when we were in Oregon last summer.

~~~~~waving at MT as she drives through my part of this world~~~~~ I totally understand the relief felt by returning to wide open spaces surrounded by horizons. I struggle with claustrophobic type feeling when i'm surrounded by buildings/landscape that doesn't allow me to see for miles.

Not making much progress today but that is PERFECTLY FINE with me. LO doesn't feel good and just wants to snuggle.

LO father just txt me and cancelled tomorrow visit. Rescheduled visit for next Saturday. We will continue on with plans for 3 brothers to get together tomorrow.

I am done again...things are looking somewhat better. I'm giving myself a Pinterest break and probably should have some lunch.

I don't know about this wedding....dh and his dfriend (who used to date the bride) didn't recall whether the wedding is at 4:30 or 5 p.m., and I haven't seen an invitation. I just called the venue and they said 5 p.m.; Google maps says 30 minutes to get there, so we need to depart here in the 4:10 to 4:15 range. I need a complete s2s including hair washing also.

OKay, I haven't gotten my crafty area set back up - we hardly go upstairs and things from the move feel so cluttered (the garage especially) that I'm mostly working downstairs. Trying to use my creativity to figure out where to hang things, and how to rearrange the great room and what furniture to buy (eventually) to make it feel more comfortable. As I've said our big furniture is just too big for that room.

Another round, I had a grilled cheese for lunch....
-another 15 minutes on DR table stuff
-reboot laundry again
-get rid of 10 pieces of paper from the "hot" counter
-watch CD for temple defibrillator
-water plants on front porch

Dee and Emptynester - this is how HRH writes down the groceries he's going to pick up. Of course when I do mine each item is on an individual flip card. I tried Chinese fortune cookies for better separation, but they make such crumbs, you know. And the prep time just isn't worth it.

I'm going to vacuum basement and then go to bed for my nap.

The auction is now all set up.

Hair is washed. I'd say sweet smelling but that's a lie. I used the Apple Cider Vinegar so there's no smell at all (unless I sweat - the dampness brings out the salad dressing smell again!)

I have my clothes laid out for tonight so just have to straighten hair and do makeup after my nap.

You sound like my mother, MT - in a good way! Living in central Illinois, my mom says she misses the sky. Central IL is not even that much of a crowded in place. She grew up on a farm in SW Kansas and has always enjoyed seeing the sky when she goes back to visit her family. I must say, I enjoy both! I love seeing more of the sky, even when we go to IL to visit my parents. But I do so love trees and woods. . .There is something majestic about large mature trees. I've often thought that if I were an elf, I would be a tree elf. Maybe I like the mystery of a path through the woods where you cannot see exactly where the path is going b/c of the trees. I find that enticing; the path sort of beckons to me. I don't know. I like both, but I've always loved forests, even as a child. After visiting the Alps regularly with dh and his family, I've also developed a taste for their rocky barren beauty, at least they are barren up above the vegetation line. I don't think I've yet met a landscape I didn't eventually come to see as beautiful. Even cities hold a certain kind of beauty; different cities have a different feel/taste. LOL! Maybe I'm just not discriminating enough.

I strongly agree with the value of creativity! I think I value creativity greater than more standard sorts of measures of "intelligence," I'm not such a hands-on person; I never was, though I used to knit and found that kind of therapeutic. Honestly, I have been neglecting creative outlets for myself since I had kids. For me, some of my creativity comes through in my moms group teachings; I get to structure 1 hour of time for the women. Creativity can come through in writing, music, other venues too.

Dh is working in the attic; he has cleared out all the boxes and is installing a raised wooden walkway which he made yesterday. We are getting insulation blown in and dh wants to be able to still use some of the space. He feels the walkway/platform needs to be installed before they do the insulation. We need to go through all the boxes which are now sitting in the entryway (not used much; we use the side door here).

a.m. routine is done - except for teeth. I've had some devo. time. I'm going to do my vacuuming chore (dh and I have taken over ds' weekend chores) and then dive into some Hebrew. I don't know when A will be here. I also don't know when ds will be here to borrow a car. I don't know why he hasn't yet handed over that bit of software to his robotics team. Maybe he enjoys continuing to meet with them. . . However, he has apparently joined UM's Mars Rover team, so he's going to need to be doing some work for them eventually. . .
