Wow! This has been so fun to read today with all the "talk" of the boards going way back. Katherine - good job! I can't remember Worthy's first name on the boards but I remember when she changed it. I think her husband was very good at putting her down and she came up with Worthy because she was far more "worthy" then he made her feel. Sarge McD I remember very well also my old friend Windy who lives near enough that we met a number of times when she shopped in Reno. Also Cathy in Eugene I had lunch with several times when she came to her hometown near me. It has been a long time though and I know she is on Facebook.

P & P's first webmaster - can't remember her name - but she worked for the Columbian and I met her once. Vancouver is my hometown too. Oh, of course, Webbie was one of the first members and her boys were just little guys. Marla and Windy were friendly and when Marla came to Reno with her husband - the Judge - Marla, Windy and I had lunch at my home. She is priceless! She sat on my couch with her notebook and she took notes while we watched the Born to be Organized video. I can't believe she is where she is now. (Oh, yes I can! Shes phenomenal.)

The first SheFest was in Tri-Cities area of Washington where CEO lives. I wasn't there but I know she was and a few others whose names I just can't come up with now. (Old age creeping in fast!)

The second SheFest was in my home in Sparks. Cathie in Eugene, Windy, Desert Donna and myself. I still have the pictures we took - somewhere. The third one was at a park near Vancouver, WA and I have some of those pictures although I wasn't there. So, there is another look at early history. As I've said before I am not an everyday poster and never have been. Some times in all these years I read a lot more than I posted. It has been fun all the way along. I miss some of the oldies like ZY and Carolina Miracle. I read that board everyday but only posted once to congratulate ZY and Bren on a big anniversary. ZY is an extra special guy for those who don't know him.

I was one of Marla's first 100 on her Flylist. Of course, I got tired of the bossy emails and dropped; I've always been a rebel!

Today Dmom's dr appt was moved to 1:30; I was proud of myself that I went back to work after I took her home, when I desperately wanted to come home and sleep.

You ladies are making me chuckle! MT's and Twins's antics with the books are classic, as harriet pointed out.

Ooh, I remember SRHS!! She was a single woman, a nurse in TX, right? She was down to earth and funny, if I remember correctly -- but then, that describes most of us here.

I still get flylady emails, but now they come in one email. However, I rarely look at them; I should probably just unsubscribe myself.

Hebrew was fun; we met at the home of one of the gentlemen in the class. I had translated far enough, thank goodness.

Ramblings re: evening solicitor: We had a solicitor come to our house this evening. Unfortunately, b/c it was clear we weren't happy to see him, he indirectly assumed that we were racist. Actually, I WAS surprised to see him - not b/c of how he looks or b/c our neighborhood is all white (it's not) but b/c there is a sign on our door that says, "No Solicitors." The girls made the sign for me, and it is a little too friendly, nicely decorated and way up in the corner of the door, so once in a while a solicitor does arrive on our doorstep. And grinning and waving madly at us through our front window on the way to the door, as if we were the best of friends, did nothing to endear him to us. . . . . . . The icing on the cake was when he was leaving and Pepper got out the front door (she can let herself out) and he was scared, even though she had been right there at the door during the conversation. Pepper just wanted to say "hi" and see if he would play with her. We did not sic her on him, which is an impossibility with a dog like Pepper. She was not barking or growling; her tail was madly wagging. The whole experience left me feeling a little yucky. I really don't like being falsely accused. . . . . I think it has happened a lot in my past so it's a bit of a hot button for me. Dh and I commented though how it was an excellent example of the Fundamental Attribution Error. I learned the name of that concept through a book on tape dfriend R lent me this summer. It was something I had recognized in a particular relationship, basically the assumption of others' motives and aims, etc. in situations when you really don't know for sure - basically filling in gaps in info. (e.g. Why did that person say or do that?) by assuming the worst in them rather than asking and trying to figure out what is really going on with that other person. It is a false accusation when this "worst" is not true, which is quite often. It was SO helpful to "put a name to it" and to realize that it was a common occurrence! I do it too, but I try to catch myself now, and dh and I joke about it.

Off to finish my groc. list and go to the groc. store. Dd16 is off tutoring at the church in Detroit, dh is off at a work dinner. Dd14 is sewing? Or something. . . I don't think she has a lot of hw tonight.

Helia - So that is the term for it? Usually when they come to my house it is to "sell" me their religion, I love the look on their face when I tell them I'm not Christian. They then will try to tell me how I should be saved and I calmly explain that I am very spiritual just not Christian, and then thank them for their time. The best are the stunned fish faces when they don't have a come back. Trust me I have nothing against Christians or any other religions I just hate having people come to my house to "save me." My BFF's are very christian and we talk spirituality all the time, they just don't try to convert me.

Oh I forgot to announce that DP has now elevated our status to BFF's, hmmm I don't have many close friends but I have 3 BFF's (okay so 1 is related) I guess I'm a good friend. That means a lot to me because growing up Grandma always told me that it wasn't the number of friends but the number of GOOD friends you had that was important. Oh and that being a good friend was more important then having good friends and as such the way you have good friends is to be one. Wow flashback to Jr High School there.

Got through the daily cards which are now ready to print and cut, but now "Bones" is on so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

With the religious solicitors, I just invite them to my Bible study. It ends up being a polite conversation that ends amicably and quickly.

I like your Grandma's advice, scattered. I've typically had a small but tight-knit group of friends. Right now, I sort of have 1 BFF here, friend B, and many friends of varying closeness. I am involved in several social groups, thus I can meet a lot of other women and have a lot of friends. Some are more like acquaintances, but on this website I'm more likely to use the word dfriend. I do have a couple BFFs from our time in TX, but I'm not in touch with them that often.

I've made the groc. list -- but I'm going to throw all industry and focus to the wind and watch a movie on the computer with dd14. I can go tomorrow a.m.; we're not going to run out of food before then, though we are dangerously close to being out of fruit. . . .

I think SRHS was from Pittsburgh. But I might be wrong. She was a nurse, if my memory was right.

DH is in the Lodge watch football. I brought one of their Frito pies and I'm sorry. Fritos, chili (from a can) and cheese. Heartburn city. Pass the Mylanta.

There is an old MH parked here with one of the guy's grandparents. They feed the feral cats and there are about 30 of them running around. All sizes from old toms to just able to scamper kittens. It is dark and spooky back here and I keep jumping when they make noise. Think I will shut my window so I can't here therm - will probably melt but better than jumping.

Going to go read in the bedroom. No one can see me from there.

I am coming up with all kinds of memories of people and things posted on the boards. Do you all remember Cathy/Cabby asking about the "delicate matter of shaving"? I guess I can put it that way. It was hilarious and I still have it in my P & P file on my computer.

MT, are you referring to the joke Cathie in Eugene told about a woman's visit to her OB/GYN while "wearing" sparkles? That was hilarious also.

Too many things to remember but occasionally they reappear.

Cowinkie I am editing to add that I had an e-mail from Sarah Brightman fan club that tickets go on sale the 9th thru the 11th of this month for members of her fan club. That's me!

Oh, maybe SRHS did live in Pittsburgh. Maybe she had lived in TX before living in Pittsburgh? For some reason I associate her with TX, but it is very possible that I am thinking of someone else. . . .Hmmm.....

Did another round of back yard clean up and it's looking might fine now!
I painted a coat on the wall that needed paint on the inside of the
chicken run tonight. Just as h. got home I was getting going on that.
We figured out how to add a couple smaller nest boxes
h. build those tonight. [I still need to paint them.]

Dinner is done now.
I got in the shower and I've washed and dried my hair.
I buffed my feet.

Granny duty tomorrow will include taking her to & from preschool it will work out well as I needed to do a store run any way.

Snow is in the forecast for mountians in the Glacier Mt. area and temps. will be dropping mid week time to get out the coats!
