Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good Morning Villagers!
Thanks to Melatonin and my allergy medicine, I got a good nights sleep. Ahh it feels so good!
I am up and d2s, working on caffeine level now. Class again today and then when I get home I must do homework. I think we will have boneless pork chops for dinner.
They have the Meteorologist from Wisconsin is going to be on the Today show today, I'm hoping they have her on before I have to go, she is inspiring.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good morning scattered and others to come! I hope this will be a wonderful Wednesday! I like that quote! My imagination has taken me to so many places during my lifetime. . .. . Frankly, an active imagination can be a distraction sometimes. LOL!
I have a couple social activities, starting with a friend (new to the area, in my moms group small group) coming over for coffee at 9:30.
--I'll be darned. Just as I typed that, the above-mentioned friend called to say she couldn't make it after all b/c she is having a migraine. . . .SO, i unexpectedly have my morning free. I hope to get caught up on some of the things on my li&t.
I got up this morning to make muffins for the girls and dfriend.
My friend B IS coming over around 1, and we will go for a walk together.
Dinner tonight here is chili, which we like to eat over rice w/ cheddar cheese on top, cornbread, and a salad.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Very slow here this morning. Was truly fatigued and shaky. Thought my BS might be low but it's right where it should be. So I'm just taking a leisurely approach to the morning. I've pushed myself into getting s2slippers, meds & breakfast done. Sipping a cup of java hoping that gets my corpuscles moving. Not a lot i HAVE to do today, just the routine things. Should go to W mart to pick up some things.
Have the living room picked up, but that was really very little to do. It can look a 'mess' in a hurry if not maintained all the time!
Talked to AT & T yesterday trying to decide about a wi-fi hot spot. Trying to figure out if a plug in from another carrier won't work??
I should 'borrow' my neighbor's just to see. Hers simply plugs in the wall and will do up to 6 items. We have the computer, wii, my phone, and 2 k indles that would have to work off it.
As I typed that last brand it brought to mind something that used to happen on the old boards. Anyone else remember? When we typed a brand name of any sort, advertisements would appear, advertising a similar item, place, etc. Sure that was because they were 'free' sites. That just flashed through my mind. We have b ots & spiders here but looking for what, I can't remember.
Think I'll spiff up the kitchen next. Not enough dishes to do yet today, so maybe later.
DH has 2 winterizations to do this evening -before dark I am imagining. That word (imagining) brings back a sweet memory of dgs13 when he was probably quite young. He and his mom were in the car, he was reading and she had the radio on. DGS says: "Mom, could you turn that down, I'm trying to imagine here." Guess you had to be there.
That boy loved to read -still does!

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good morning! I am up and about, albeit on the late side, and have a PODA going for this day off of payroll work. I was up around five a.m. for awhile, then went back to bed for a little more sleep. I still need to take the ddogs out for their walk...
PODA: (parade of daily activities)
-meet with the guy who did the prior repairs on the old house about some things that came up on the inspection - if he can meet today
-Groceries, gas, what other errands?
-Call vet and P/u heartguard
-call a dfriend who left a message the other day
-temple report that is about two months late
-hopefully some time at home this afternoon so the additional shelves for our laundry room can be dropped off
We got the inspection report back yesterday for the old house and it's not as bad as I had feared.
(No mention of any prior inhabitants of the attic, for instance.) We think we will take care of all those that the buyer has stipulated that we do, but we do need to find out what is involved. I think we may need a HVAC guy for one and perhaps a plumber for another but I'm meeting with the general handyman first to see what he can do.
Tonight there's an event at temple that I *should* attend but I'm not sure whether I will. I am so tired of everyone wanting to talk about the rabbi's contract, pro and con. I don't need to hear it, we will have a vote in two months so just hold it for now, LOL.
For now....
-breakfast
-walk the ddogs
-clear kitchen table and counters
-meds/vitamins, me and ddogs
-start a lol

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Not even looking at my PODA yet,Twins. What I really want to do is go back to sleep for an hour or so. Perhaps I just need to give in to that for a while. Caffeine isn't helping one iota.
Was pretty foggy this morning and is just plain gray now. Not sure if it's supposed to rain or not. One day this week it's supposed to be almost 80 (that might be today) and then it's plunging and not getting out of the 50's. I probably should get myself in gear later and go to dd's MH. All the Christmas presents I have so far (and all the wrapping stuff) are over there. Need to go do that when it's not freezing out. There's no heat at all in there now so really need to be doing that while I can. Trying to keep that mess out of here as much as I can.

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good morning!
Not s2s yet; had a hard time going to bed last night due to a sour stomach, and so had a hard time getting up this morning. By the time I finally dragged myself out of bed, it was time for DD to get into the shower, so once I managed to get dd awake, which took quite a while, I just headed down to start on lunches.
I had a meeting last night -- board of our local hockey program (the one dd plays in) -- that ran from 8 till 11:30.
Big agenda -- upcoming tournament, fundraisers, start of new programs, and what to do about some families that had left the program: one, where the father had coached the two years previous, had not yet settled up on last year's fees; the other (the goalie on dd's team!) left the program abruptly and had the chutzpah if they could get a refund of fees -- by our bylaws, some of their fees were non-refundable, and they owed some of the rest, having participated in the program for a month, but some neighboring programs refuse refunds outright in such situations. Both played in their new programs before getting their release from ours, which could mean fines to those programs from the league but will more likely result in a slap on the wrist.
CUOP from yesterday:
helia -- yes, dd was tired; it's become a vicious circle: she takes forever to do her homework and so gets to bed late, which makes her all the more tired the next day
Ivy -- I'm glad it's not AMD -- both kinds stink. My grandmother has dry-type; by the time we caught hers, it was far enough advanced that she had to give up driving, and of course, there's nothing they can do about it, but 16 years later, she can still see well enough to live on her own. My mom has wet-type; she got treatment quickly (though not as quickly as she should have; she mentioned at Easter dinner that she'd been seeing funny things for the last couple of weeks -- but she did call her eye doctor right away on Monday when we insisted she do so), and her vision is still good enough that she was able to pass the eye exam to renew her driver's license recently, but the treatments are expensive and time-consuming, and wet type can leave you suddenly, totally blind. I'm glad your situation is very treatable -- make sure to keep looking at your Amsler daily!
scattered -- yum! And I wholeheartedly agree with your addition of rosemary; I think rosemary goes so well with lamb!
lucylee -- I would really be ticked if I were your DDIL -- your son is sharing in the benefits of the wedding gifts, so he ought to share in the task of writing the notes. Just had an evil thought
-- what if she were to make up stickers saying, "Thank you for the lovely wedding gift," stick them in cards, and make your DS sign 'em? They'd be done, but they wouldn't be "couth." Would your DS be mortified -- maybe even mortified enough to take it as a prod to do them properly -- or would he just be thankful to have them done and you off their backs?
Waving to Dove flying by!
And today...
scattered -- the quote reminds me of Wishbone (children's series in which a Jack Russell terrier acted as the protagonist in various works of literature), "Your imagination can take you anywhere!"
Is that how the practice of breaking up brand names started, Dee? I was wondering if it was done to help keep search engines from finding our little corner of the Web. Love your DGS's quote!
Did you have bats in your belfry, Twins?
You are president of your temple, right? Sounds like a job not to be envied!
We are having a cool, gloomy morning here, Dee; the temperatures are supposed to get up to the low to mid-70s, but the sun isn't supposed to do more than peek out. Tomorrow's supposed to be similar, but with more sun, but by the weekend, it's supposed to be downright chilly. Don't know if you get our weather a day later or less than that.
Junior ring ceremony, blessed?
Have eaten breakfast; my fuzzy brain could use more caffeine, but I don't know if my stomach could tolerate it. Goodness! Is that the time already?!
Must get myself in gear!
Will try to get done before TOTH:
• morning prayer
• s2s
• tidy bathroom
• clean up breakfast
• open blinds/turn off lights
*Poof!*

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good Morning!
This morning is a prime example of what happens when I get over confident that I can do my cards & schedule without looking at them. It's not that I wasn't busy doing things, but just not the right things at the right time.
I slept in late and then spent extra time washing my hair. LO was rushed getting dressed and eating his breakfast. DH was rushed getting ready. I don't like it when we have to rush around. As DH was ready to walk out the door, he asked "Is an apple a good breakfast?" It wasn't until that very moment that I realized I hadn't fixed our breakfast! I had done LO breakfast but completely forgot to do ours!
Those Low Carb Tortillas came in handy - throw some roasted chicken and mozzarella cheese in it - zap for 1 minute and breakfast on the run is served.
Lesson learned.
** Cards are good.....when they are used!
** over confidence in a extreme sidetrackable person is not advisable.
This morning txt messages started early again...before the sun came up.
** LO parents requested to move their current visitation date/time. And they requested we drive LO 200 miles to meet them at a zoo. nope. I declined their request and truthfully told them we are busy during that time. We are back to meeting Saturday sometime....they will tell us what time they can do it on Saturday.
** DGS15 requested I teach him how to drive. No problem! I taught DGS17 to drive when his legs was long enough to reach the pedals. DGS15 has never had any interest in driving and refuse any offer to learn how to drive. Now he is ready.
Thank goodness we have an abundance of country roads to practice on!
Today is filled with elder care appt
** DAunt has asked for a ride to her knee surgeon appt
** DMIL has asked a ride to her chiropractor appt
** DMom requested I take her to her heart doc appt. DDad can't be left alone so we will load him (including wheel chair & oxygen) up and take with us.
We can't load everyone up in one vehicle so DH will do his side of the family elder care appts and i will do my side.
DDad asked me yesterday how I was filling up all my spare time. SPARE TIME?!! i have spare time?????
My day is typically full of activity from 5am to 8pm

Re: Wonderful Wednesday
Good morning, villagers ~
Today's 9 by 9 (in addition to 3 Ds):
1. Pack clothes for 4-day sewing retreat which starts tomorrow afternoon.
2. Finish packing personal care items for retreat, don't forget to pack toothbrush & meds!
3. Make final decisions on which projects to take, and finish packing them.
4. Finish packing sewing machine, tools and supplies.
5. Finish packing non-perishable food & kitchen supplies.
6. Write checks for bills due.
7. Go to the post office & ATM.
8. Load everything in the car that won't be affected by cold overnight temperature.
9. Fill recycle and trash bins ready to go to the curb.
Yup, that l!$t should keep me running all day!
Last night's meeting with the whole sewing group was a lot of fun. The program speaker talked about using Derwent Inktense pencils to draw and color on fabric, which she then transforms into various quilted projects. Then ... she passed out supplies so we could all try the pencils for ourselves! We spent about half an hour coloring and giggling like little girls.
