Re: Name your Saturday!
I am planning on have a Special Saturday.
I am trying not to get my hopes up.....but a Mama's hope is hard to keep down. LO parents are suppose to see him today. We will be in protective mode to keep LO safe, but with open hearts just in case DD is willing to receive a hug from us.
Today is packet pick up day for LO's kid marathon tomorrow. He has never seen a marathon so he isn't for sure what it is. I don't know how to explain to him how fun the energy level is as you gather before the start and then the feeling of accomplishment & joy of people cheering as you cross the finish line. I suspect it is just one of those things he has to experience to understand.
Last night I felt horrible. This morning I'm fine. Whatever it was making me sick seems to be gone. I know they say the flu shot won't give you the flu......but I find myself wondering about all the same flu type symptoms showing up after getting the shot. I'm thankful whatever it was didn't last long!

Sunny Saturday here.
changed bed sheets and quilt cover
2 loads washing
headache caught up with me today.
Went down to health food store sale day.
bought Ca + minerals, probiotics.
grocery store for veg, cheese, chicken meat, and frozen veg to keep the probiotics cold.
Our version of Sam's - bought new sandwich press - been missing the last one that went electric on me.
and a 2yr month to a page diary. tiny squares.
home
as the sun set - huge blood red from fuel reduction burnoffs.
shopping away
Neighbour teen had finally mowed for me. And taken notes on the time taken. Had whipper snipped as well. Paid him

Re: Name your Saturday!
Hmmm....what to name my Saturday? I'll have to think on that for a bit. Know I'll come up with something applicable.
Today is SOGGY for sure. Rained almost an inch since about 1:30 this morning. I was awake from about 1:15 until after 4. When I woke up to get up I thought it was going for 9, nope only going for 8. So that means I have an hour to spare right?
Thinking of you today, Okay (not that there's a day I don't).
DH took the car down to work this morning. I figured out the days before we leave and labeled each with any special dates/appointments. At the most we have 27 days left and it quite likely won't be that long. About the latest I've heard of anyone leaving is Oct. 26th. Once there's no one but us, dh and dcampowner will start shutting down all the water. I imagine they'll start the sprinkler system in the rec hall. Those all have to be pulled and shut off, making it unuseable once there's no sprinklers. Have the memorial service for our dVirginia there next Saturday, but I don't think there's anything after that. Sure dcampowner will be very glad to have things close down this year. He's only been back to work for about a week & a half. He had shoulder surgery (he was hit head on just down the road last fall) early this summer and has had a hard time recovering. When dh is finished doing this job dco really needs to think of hiring someone younger and paying him what this job is really worth. Not sure that will ever happen.
We were going to pull in the one living room slide in a week or so. It dawned on me in the middle of the night that we probably can't do that. By pulling that in, we'd cover both of the living room heat registers. I was hoping that was one thing that dh could get done ahead and figure out what needs to be done to lower the solid roofs (awnings) over them. There's no way the kitchen or bedroom slides can be brought in early.
Darn few people here this weekend. Wish it would clear up enough that dh could get some of the outdoor things done that he wants to finish. There's a lot!
I decided this morning I really need to keep up my daily routine (DAILY!) Ya' think? I brought 2, still boxed, web cams from the storage area the other day & it dawned on me early today that I haven't seen them since. Where to look, where to look. I hate looking for things! Still am looking for the cover to dShelley's crockpot. Love that size and I sure could use it tomorrow. Making a big batch of mashed potoates to take to DS-A's. DDIL#2 is roasting a turkey.

Re: Name your Saturday!
Show Improvement Saturday
Yesterday is gone. Dd slept 12 hours hardly stirring so I know she needed rest. I have already gotten my ddad's breakfast on the table, gone over my 5x5 and checked Desk Day needs.
Next up is outdoor chores, then some remainders of Desk Day that was interrupted yesterday. Breakfast for the rest of the family, all of us having gratefully accepted Saturday morning's invitation to ease into the day. Cannot help the fact that some of the 5x5 will require going out on errands. Sigh. Will leave it up to HRH which of us should do it, though. He needs a little consideration. Lots of work is certainly still available to do surrounding dd's room and clothes/closet. Spiffing master bath would help.
Great good luck finding items today, Dee.
Hopeful for you and LO, OKay. Percentage of people who say they get sick after flu shots certainly cannot be coincidence, whether anyone can explain it or not. Canadian BC Centre for Disease Control study showed those who received Canada's H1N1 flu shot 2008 and 2009 turned out more likely to get flu than those who didn't, and no one can explain that either. I'm glad your symptoms seem to be over quickly. It dawns on me with dd32 and dsonil having to go to dr yesterday - wonder if they had gotten flu shots? I will call them today.
Lynlee, lots going on with you. Happy for your spiffy yard and a sale on health food items. Here I usually find a "buy one get one half off" sale or large quantity sale, which are less helpful since I didn't want to take that much home with me or let that much money go that day.

Re: Name your Saturday!
Hmm..... name your own. . . Maybe satisfying Saturday for me -- b/c I would like to be satisfied with my house, my exercise, my eating, etc. by the end of the day.
I had a very nice bday celebration last night; dfriend R and ds came over! Food was great, fellowship was better. I got very nice gifts and kind "speeches," a family tradition we have. Dd14 made an awesome buttery glaze to put over the angel food cake. Yummmmm.......
Dh and I are going to a wedding late this afternoon!! We will go for a jog earlier. The girls will be helping watch the small group kids tonight; dh and I will have to miss. In the meantime, I need to get caught up on laundry, do Saturday chores, do some Hebrew -- maybe some yard work, though it is rather damp outside right now, but not raining and not looking like rain. . . . . and there is some weak sunshine breaking through the clouds.
Dh has gotten his annual flu shot already. I never get it and I never get the flu. Though, this could be the year. . . . . The kids are kind of hit and miss with the shot; sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't. They've never gotten the flu. To be honest, they don't get sick very often; I think last year, btwn. all 3 kids, only dd14 missed one day of school due to sickness.
Girls are still asleep here; I'm echoing Harriet - they need their sleep.

Re: Name your Saturday!
Good morning! I've read the paper and next am taking ddogs out to walk. We had a little shower earlier but it seems to be over. I have the door open to our patio and dMacs went out there and laid down on the patio couch and enjoyed the outside. Ddogs don't spend as much time outside as they did at old house, here it's the daily walks and then some short trips into the back yard for potty breaks. Our patio door isn't screened and I don't know whether we could find a screen that would work, but dh has gotten really weird about bugs coming in so if he were here the door would be locked down instead of standing open. But with the rain, there aren't a lot of bugs flying about.
I think it's Simple Saturday here. Dh is doing a volunteer shift tonight at a local fundraiser which I will skip. It's a fun event but I start feeling claustrophobic there so I'm happy to skip it. I hope to continue the trend of emptying boxes in the garage and perhaps I'll take a Goodwill load this weekend.
I always get a flu shot - in fact the company I work for usually has flu shots available to us one afternoon at the office. I had the flu or something similar one year during tax season - more than twenty years ago because it was pre-children - and it was miserable! Feeling awful is exacerbated by knowing work is going undone, so I take all possible precautions, and luckily, haven't had a sick spell or even a bad cold during tax season in a very long time.

Re: Name your Saturday!
Harriet - Sure hope things show improvement at your place today - in a life being more easily livable way.
The sale has 15% of bulk bin goods, and suppliments, 10% off grocery so is good to get whats needed. I really need watch prices though as some things are cheaper elsewhere even with the discount. I've decided to buy whats reasonable locally in the spirit of supporting those stores i/l the big places that require travel. So buckwheat and cashews are locally bought as needed these days. Prices similar without the travel. Or such an ouch at the cash register.
Hope ya'll survive this years cold/flu season well.

Good Morning Ladies
Name your Saturday...for me it will be "Soup"-er Saturday, I hope to make a few large batches of beef and chicken vegetable soup, it has turned super cool here, highs only in the low 50's so a soup dinner sounds warm and good.
Sorry I have not been around lately, you all probablly thought I was just a fly-by but not the case, you are stuck with me
I am happy to say ALL of my Fall cleaning, sprucing up is Done and the house looks great..It took a little longer then planned, but one does not plan for the laptop battery to go dead, stomach viruses, ear infection, a chipped tooth, make up soccer games, and everything that goes with raising 3 kiddos..I now am the proud mama to a 9 year old, D8 turned 9 on 9/27, we had a small pizza/slumber party this past weekend.
So there you have it..I need to get moving now and get all the veggies ready for my soups, and start the chicken.
Hope everyone has a great day:)
