Hi Bernice, it's nice to have you with us. How did you manage to get all your fall cleaning done so soon? Here is my address..come do mine...

I want this to be a satisfying Saturday. Which means I must get some things accomplished and the house looking better.

PODA:
Finish up work in the kitchen.
Run vacuum whole house.
Finish up work at the desk.
Finish folding laundry.
Finish the work in the sewing room.

Hmm, it appears I'm on catch up patrol around here.

And again, I'm the paperwork queen, plowing through rather big stack. In the middle of all that now. BBL

It's been good to see you, Bernice. Stop back (more) often.

I have to echo you on flu shot, Okay. I have to plan mine so that I don't have anything planned on day 2 or 3 after my shot. Last year I was feeling pretty smug when I thought I'd escaped not feeling well (though it is short-lived). Not to be, the next day I was down & out. Always, always happens. But I'd rather have a day or so of not feeling up to snuff than have the down 'n out flu. Been trying to talk dd into getting one. She's around all ages of kids every day and she has several bronchial episodes every winter. She's already started.

I've been working on putting recipes into the computer. I've tried to aim for about 3 a day, but I don't always get there. Today I'm sure I put in a dozen. Found myself throwing out several I'd clipped -just knew I probably wouldn't make them. I'll just keep chipping away at them and might ACTUALLY make some this winter.
Know that I'll most likely be chief cook & bottle washer at dd's this winter. And that's perfectly okay. She works a LOT of hours -now more than ever. She's rarely getting home before 7 or 8 o'clock. She has left Fridays open. But she ends up putting nearly 60 hours a week at her teaching job and now she has tutoring and some after-school care to boot. DSonIL can do hardly anything at this point. Hoping new treatment will be helpful for him. This winter is sure to be 'different'!

Going to DS-A's for dinner tomorrow. DDIL has invited our old neighbors so they could get to see everyone. Glad for that as I was trying to figure a way to get together with them before we leave. Now the days are dwindling down to that precious few!

One thing "found". Dh just looked on the back of my golf cart for the laptop webcams. I wondered if we'd even taken them 'out' of the storage area. I hadn't seen them since then. He was going outside so he looked for me. Just brought my car back -he drove it down this morning early when it was pouring.

So today, for me, can be titled: Successful Saturday. There's some other 'office supplies' out on the cart as well. Dh said he'd bring them in when he comes back.

Good Morning All.

Watched a beautiful sunrise over the mountains here on the southern boarder of NM. Our friend's wind chimes are softly tinkling beside my window and I'm watching the hummers fight over the feeder out the other one.

I'm S2BF and breakfast & meds done. Started a load of laundry and updated my blog. Others are out on a walk but I had an up and down night so am sitting this morning.

Later we are going to a lecture by a Pulitzer prize winning writer who lives in Columbus. He is doing some sort of special for Na'tl Geo and will be talking about it. Then out to lunch to one of my favs - Tres Salsa!!

I don't know what the rest of the day will bring. But it is nice to be with good friends. We haven't seen each other for 2 or 3 years but at one time stayed next to each other when we worked all summer on the Escapade as advanced staff. You really get to know one another when your bedroom slides almost touch. :lol:

Today will be Surprise Saturday, as I'm heading to the attic after I finish posting to do my annual clearing of the big table up there. Not sure what I will find at the bottom of some of the piles, hence the surprise :P !

Would love to reply to all but I'm already procrastinating by being here. So off I go (hi ho hi ho :) ).

Super & sunny Sat. here. I have not had prob. with the flu shots until this year unless I did not connect it to that. It's good to know to schedule a bit of down time after that in the future. Something to make a note of on my "get flu shot card". I try to do that in Sept.

I've been in the shower s2s is done but I still need to dry my hair.
Then I'll head out for my walk and to the yd. sale down the street saw a hoe I can use if it's still there.

Did not get anything yesterday except for one small chain I thought I could use.

Cocoa-Coffee is gone.
BS was 65 today ate breakfast.
The hens are fine they were awake but not off the roost when I took feed out to them at seven. The found the feeder right off and were hunting for the seed I put out last night. Have most of the chick stuff cleaned up in the craft zone. I need to put out oyster shells today and grit also.

I'll uncover the tomatoes when I get out for my walk in a bit. One squash plant in the garden got froze but I'd already picked the squash from it so I can pull it and toss that to the hens this afternoon while I look and see if there are any carrots in the one garden area. Watered another squash by the hen pen that did not get froze yet. :idea: Glad I put all that stuff for them in the freezer for later! :mrgreen:

~~~waving HI to all~~~~~
it'is fun to see what names have been used for Saturday. Names are important (IMHO). This morning I was preparing LO a snack - some crackers with cheese ball spread on top. He pointed to the green chives cut up in the cheese spread and said "I don't like that. ".
I told him "Yes, you do. It's vegetables!".
His eyes got big and he asked - "That is a vegetable?"
Me = "Yes, it sure is!"
LO - I LIKE IT! Then he ate 4 crackers with cheese spread. :lol: :lol:
My Intenet connection is sloooow today. I've rebooted everything (laptop, modem, wifi) without any success. I suspect it may be due to low clouds (our connection is through line of sight to a tower 3 miles away). Hopefully when the low clouds disappear & sun comes out the speed will return.
So far, it's been Sleepy Saturday here -- I need to transform that into Swoosh! Saturday. There are so many things I'd like to get done today -- getting up at the crack of noon doesn't help that (but I needed the sleep). One priority must be getting DD squared away with hockey. I need to figure out how we're getting it paid for -- which means doing some work on the budget. I think I'm going to need to alternate between mental and physical work.
Hey, did we miss your birthday somehow, helia? (Or is that, "What we?" I was fairly out of it yesterday.)
As for flu shots, there's a doctor affiliated somehow with DH's school (alumnus? parent of a student?) who makes sure the whole faculty (maybe staff, too?) gets flu shots as soon as they're available. With the H1N1 a few years ago, DH got a shot from school and never got it. The girls and I had already gotten and gotten over the flu before they finally said that the health care community had gotten theirs, and shots were now available for the general public. I imagine that takes a little longer in Cleveland than in some places -- we have two major hospitals (three if you count the county system) that compete with each other and keep trying to get bigger and better than the other. There was an article in the paper recently asking if this actually benefits people or just drives up the cost of healthcare. (You'd think more competition would bring costs down, but when the nature of the competition is, "We've got more expensive, state-of-the-art equipment than the other guys!" -- not so much.)
Good to see SuzLew posting! Bernice, too! Hi, ladies! (The thing with having been gone for so long is that I don't know who else has been gone, too.)
What's odd about the patio door, Twins, that you can't find a screen for it?
Going to s2s and grab my cards -- back @ TOTH for an update!
