Ivy, try to do this in a nutshell. I was thrown off a treadmill while still hanging on with my left hand. The accident pulled everything apart -including muscle, bone, joints ,etc. The ball & shaft and wiring & screws put it all back together, but after well over a year of PT it was decided nothing would help any further. There also was little muscle left that wasn't torn away -I did it on a Monday & it was Friday before they could operate. It was very painful for a long time and often still is. Yes Fl weather helps some. (actually I'd had open heart surgery the summer before and the shoulder was far worse IMHO). I'm sure there is arthritis in there at this point. Pain is still sometimes excruciating and that's when I remember WHY we go to FL every fall. We've been going the last several years for about 6 months. DH has been coming back north (to work) a month or better ahead of me. He flies, I drive (usually with dd). Hoping I can drive back with him in the spring. He hesitates to have me here during April when it can sometimes be brutal out.

All that being said I am very grateful to at least have use of my left hand. I just can't move my arm away from my body or lift it. But in the end it's all good.

I can't believe I have as much packed as I do. The more I can do ahead the happier I'll be. DH is also ahead of where he's been in other years. He's really hoping to be out of here by the end of October. Just depends on who and if anyone is left here (other than us). The one we thought would be here until the very end is now leaving this Wednesday. The latest that we know of right now is someone is staying until the 25th for a dentist appointment.

DH and I have to go pick up just a handful of groceries after church tomorrow. Also have a coupon for 20% off everything at a local discount store. Well, guess it's actually not local but all over. Know there's 2 down near dd in FL.

Ok, I'm off to bed. Ready to snuggle in. It's down to 46 outside -toasty in here though. Dh just went through and closed all the shades. It's ok at night but I know I'll hate it in the morning. Have a good night everyone.

I'm NOW happy to say my Saturday is "Satisfied Sunny Saturday"!

I finished reading the print-outs in the file on writing! I washed 1 load of jeans, DH is going to cook up chicken veggies stir-fry for dinner, and we'll run the DW after dinner. I decided to not do anymore laundry for today, because the DW will be distracting enough this evening while we watch news, college football (DH) and baseball play-offs. I want to read on the clutter-busting handbook I got used in the mail today. Then, we'll stay up to watch the opening monologue on SNL.

I'm Satisfied, too, because I've emailed a few people to catch up with them, have some things "to do", which I know might not get done today, but there is always tomorrow. I'll try to get a bit more walking and/or movement in this evening, my pain went away, and it's been a good day for us here. My cat's even been good. ♥ She's sleeping on our bed right now, goes out into the garage after dark to try to get a mouse, but she's a novice still. I need to run and put jeans away now before dinnertime.

Lynlee, Do you have a pill cutter for your broken tablets? I take 1 Synthroid daily, but 1 1/2 on Mon. and Fri. to keep me at the right level. Just curious if you had a pill cutter. They're so handy.

OKay, Why does your DH need to blow lines out? Does it have something to do with cold weather and water lines?

I wonder if LO parents will wait 9 weeks before the next 1-hr. visit, too. I had such an odd feeling, knowing my father was my father, yet not knowing him very well. There was a connection or I felt like there was supposed to be one, but it wasn't like seeing my adoptive step-father all the time. Life is so strange sometimes, especially for kids. Thank you for saying I have strength.

Kathryn, You have been so very busy today. I missed my nap/rest, but I'm glad you got one. Oh! They made the pizza wrong? Oh, no.

An evening wave to Dee, Harmony, Scattered, Suzlew, Kally, Lilac, Nancy, Twins' Mom and others I've probably overlooked.

Have a nice evening, Everyone! :D

Dee, I posted after your post came in, hit submit, it disappeared, so now I'm trying it again.

I can't imagine your journey with pain and the frustration you must have felt with your shoulder ordeal. And open heart surgery, too. You're a Miracle!

I'm glad FL weather helps you, too. Do you walk along the beach there or are you near the water?

Have a good snuggle and great night's sleep.

Goodnight, Everybody. Sweet dreams. :D

Ivy, I think that's great that you actually wore a crown for a while!

I spent more time at the computer and desk. Updated mileage log. Updated file I keep on our rental (was 8 months behind) and got the medical book updated with receipts and insurance stuff filed. I'm still paying on DH's 1st surgery.

Stopped for dinner, and DH and I sat out on the porch while it rained a bit. Watered the watermelon. The patch we have in the grass now has 4 watermelons growing. Don't spit your seeds into the grass, you'll have to deal with this!

Ran to the store to get a couple things. We are putting together baskets for all our pastors at church, as it is pastors' appreciation month...so now I have to go back to the kitchen and make 6 med size pumpkin breads and write out 6 notes of appreciation...and encouragement. I wish they were already done.

Dh told me that when it warms back up, he will turn the sprinkler back on, since he now knows what he is doing, he can blow them out as needed.

Today we both missed having a pellet stove. But I still don't think we will spend the money. We can buy an awful lot of gas for the expense of a pellet stove. Plus, dh says he sure doesn't miss having to clean it. Huh? I did all the routine cleaning of it. Which was every couple of days, for months. He just had to pull it out and clean before we used it in the fall and then once or twice during the season. It was a fireplace insert so that is why is had to be pulled out and cleaned behind.

Okay, that is wonderful that LO was able to control the situation. I am sorry you didn't get to interact with dgd but I am so glad that you were able to observe her at play.

I put pics. of coop and chickens on my f.b. page dson took 'em with his good camera today. H. & I got the platforms in front of the next boxes on, and we both worked the chicken ladder. We are done with the coop until I can get a new / better feeder the other one was too small.

No eggs today, did not expect any with the change was told they might stop laying at least for a bit b/c of the stress of moving. The hens settled in for a nap this afternoon even though we were working on the pen with some final touches. [see above]

Dgds and dson & wife came to see the coop and hens. dgds helped to feed hens some treats  they love movie popcorn! After that wanted nothing to do at all with weeds from the garden! LOL!

I pulled weeds in a spot I've been meaning to get to today yea! Picked the big squash for decor in front of the house.

Got a new to me hoe today and h. swapped the handle out so the one with the best blade part is on the best handle!

Got a new to me coffee maker for $3.00 also!

Hello to EVERYONE!!!

My Saturday has been tiring/irritating/hot/cold/sunburned.
Check out the score of the AU-ARK game if you need to know more.
* sigh *

But we are home, planning to see dbro sometime tomorrow night, ds/ddil/dgs will be home by tomorrow, also, and will have time to visit w/dbro before ddil has to go to work @ 11:00 pm!
We have spent a LOT of the last 3 days on the road... and we are tired... but we enjoyed everything except the outcome of the game today.
I've probably eaten waaay too much.
I did NOT get all my papers graded.
I am very sunburned.

VERY HAPPY FOR IVY & FAMILY * CONGRATULATIONS ON THE NEW DGBABY-ON-THE-WAY!!!

Need to check J&C, but I can see that hugs are in order for (((Dee))) -- hope dgs is doing much better by the time you read this!

(((OKay & LO))) -- Sooo impressed w/dLO's maturity... sounds like he is handling everything amazingly!

Glad to be home. Everything is put away, thanks to dh's OCD... ;) I'm afraid if I were alone, it'd all still be in the SUV and I would have come in and fallen asleep. Of course, I slept a great deal while dh did 90% of the driving over the last three days. I'm just like a baby in a moving vehicle. Start the motor; I'm asleep.
Tomorrow is another day.

Final Update:
  • s2s Done!
  • hang up laundry to dry Done!
  • fold load of laundry in the dryer. Done!
  • vacuum and dust main floor (guests tomorrow.) Done!
  • set dining table Part Done
  • practice anthem for tomorrow Done!
  • nap (doing nothing is exhausting) Done!
  • make up meal plan and grocery list for tomorrow Done!
  • out to the store for mini quiches (good sale and they are on my HGP list.) and other groceries. Done!
  • second load of laundry dried and folded Done!
  • tidy kitchen, wash dishes Done!
  • sort through and organize paperwork in kitchen
So, yes, I got a lot done. I'm only up to 2730 steps, though, for the day. I won't cross over 5K unless I either do the treadmill or walk for the mail. Neither happened today. In fact, the pedometer didn't go on until 2 p.m. but that's because I was in my pjs until then.

Off to bed now. I did practice the anthem for tomorrow one more time with dh (he's singing harmony to my lead) and got the Sunday School CD burned properly for this week (messed it up last week.) So my church bag is packed.

'ivy - I do have a pill cutter and need it for the T3 which are really hard when they are "fresh". I have 1/4 every 4th day. 1/2 rest of the time. 1/3 a T4 daily.

I did strike out with the vacuum for 20 min. Just made a start from hallway - and what was off trom there.

sleep tight all
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.
