Nancy: ask at church for people to save their egg containers for you.

I got the Tuesday kitchen chores done, made up dh's vitamin containers for his trip and filled the daily dispenser here. Then I made up my lunch, disposed of the rest of the turkey leftovers (stuffing in the compost, turkey cut in the freezer for soup) and made up some leftover cranberry sauce oatmeal muffins. They turned out quite well, despite forgetting the cinnamon and using a whole egg plus 1 tbsp of oil instead of a half egg and 1/6c of oil. (I was cutting the recipe in half.) They are a bit sweet (my sauce was very sweet) but taste good with butter.

I'm off for my nap now. Rain is coming down hard but dh says it should be over by the time my nap is done.

No time to cuop now. I need to leave again. .. I just got back from lunch in time to pack up Pepper, and dfriend just picked her up.

Lunch was really nice; we didn't talk about kids at all, which was like a breath of fresh air! I love my kids, but there is more to my life than being a mom. The dfriend whose bday it is is an attorney and just got a new job, so we talked about that a bit, among other things.

-JOG - Will try for after the next Dr. appt., but the weather is looking pretty cold and wet right now. . . I have done some dinner prep - but not all.

-work on packing and paperwork (kid info for dfriends watching the girls) for leaving town tomorrow
X get Pepper to dfriends' home in neighboring village
-supper at 6:15 so dd16 can pick up dfriend and go to youth group tonight.

I had done an advance order with USPS for our Christmas stamps and they weren't supposed to be available or leave their facility yet, but an email today says they went ahead and sent them sometime overnight last night. I find that interesting. I mean, I still might not have them in my hands as fast as a customer who just luckily walks in to a local post office shortly after they arrive, but this is certainly a change from their stated schedule. Can you believe it's already this time of year, btw?

Gee, more emails say my address labels are already with UPS even though they were personalized , and cards are already nearly to me. I love it when a plan comes together. (Also gotta love these instant package tracking buttons! When did they get so accurate and easy? Last Christmas they were a joke, at least for me.)

I may finish my cards on Halloween yet. If so, first success on that front EVER.

Twins' Mom and others who may enjoy the paper arts, I found this British site on the way to other net places and just thought I'd post a link. I don't know what's "new" or impressive to those who work in paper, but some of these items seemed very nice to me.

Great idea to ask church friend to save egg cartons. I have quite a stack of egg containers but they are paper mesh ones. I wanted some of the clear plastic ones not sure why! LOL!

Not really much time to cuop. I was up later than normal writing letters while DH watched a good old movie. I woke up early, too. I don't feel rested.

I wrote 5 letters between last night and 1 this morning. I went to Costco at 11 a.m. to get my shingles shot. I found a beautiful charcoal grey cardigan with vertical spiraling ruffles on both sides,it has sparkles in it and here I knew I had a silver/black sparkle knit top to match the cardigan perfectly and had black slacks, too. When I was browsing the rack, ladies would walk by or walk around and say, "I don't need it! I don't need it!" and would walk on. But I really did need something like this for the holidays. I got lounging pajamas and a Debbie Macomber book, which I can hardly wait to read.

I helped put things away, when we returned, and sorted the mail, but not much came today.

It is very foggy outdoors, it seems spooky and depressing, both. We'll get our rain from Fri. the 12th through Thurs. the 18th. We're had no rain for over 79 days now, which has broken a 1891 record for us. There are fires, too. 1 is 85% contained, but now there is another one. I'll be glad to hear and see rain. We need it so bad.

I'm going to go take a rest. I'm awfully tired.

You all have a wonderful Wednesday, too. I don't know what we'd do without the WWW! The main thing is we can all use it and enjoy it now.

Awh! This village is so very special. I wouldn't consider moving if it meant I had to leave here!

DDIL wants to start looking for a home near them now. In fact, she had found several for us to consider within hours of hearing DH announcement. She called wanting to know if we planned to purchase a home or if we rather rent one from them - they will purchase one for us. She wants us to move really close to them, but I discouraged that. We are not city or HOA type people (if we want to build something on our land......we are not going to ask permission!). I need to be surrounded by space so I'm 99.9999% positive we won't move into a developed housing area. I told DDIL to hold off the search until we know the timing. Even if the court thing was settled tomorrow, we still have to go through the multiple real estate selling processes. I think that everything would sell fast because in the past 2 years we have received 1/2 dozen offers even though our places aren't for sell. But then again.....I could be wrong and it might take months to sell the real estate.

Today has been full of news that I haven't processed yet.

DSis and her long time SO have split up. He has been part of our family for so long that it is hard to wrap my head around the thought that he is now someone we aren't suppose to be close friends with. I don't handle this part of sibling divorce well. After a few years, I start considering my siblings spouse as a sister/brother. then they get divorced which comes with the expectation that our relationship will also end. It becomes taboo. The divorced spouse/SO won't be at anymore family gatherings, won't be sitting with us at ball games, won't be stopping by the house, etc etc. IMHO....This expectation stinks. I'm not the one who got tired of him and decided to move on to greener pastures! Arrrgghhh!!

When DH, LO and I arrived at doctor office, I took my phone out of pocket to turn it off. I noticed a FB post asking for prayer for person who was just in a wreck......1/4 of mile from us. The wreck happened within minutes of us being in the same spot. A cement truck turned a corner too fast and tipped over landing on top of a car instantly killing a woman from our little town. It could have just as easily been us.

LO coughing/wheezing is coming from his chest area. We came home with steroids and an inhaler. Teaching a 4 year old how to use an inhaler isn't the easiest thing I have done, but we are getting better each puff.

I have to say that I was VERY impressed by the efficiency of all the medical appts. I had today. We were in and out of the lab for blood draws for both girls in about 10 minutes this morning. And dd14's results were in and available for the MD to look at during her appt. later this afternoon. My mammogram was scheduled for 9:45 am. At 10:02 a.m., I was finished and walking outside the building to my car. Dd14 was finished at dermatology in about 40 minutes, which is very good for them. Maybe Tuesday is a good day for appts?

Still to do tonight:
-make sure dd14 logs in to acutane web site and does questions. We can't pick up her prescription until she has done this.
-check in to flight for tomorrow a.m.
-reserve a taxi; dh suggests this so that we don't have 2 cars parked at the airport.
-check kid info letter, print it out.
-pack/figure out what to pack.

Actually, dd16 is 17 today. Today is her bday! We will properly fete her later, possibly next Friday night. I got her a card, though.

I'm so sorry to hear about that woman in the car, OK. So glad it wasn't you.

Harriet, I liked your comments earlier re: dfriend at lunch so much that I wanted to bring you with me!! All was well, and I was very glad I went and had such positive interactions with her.

Okay, I know of 2 accidents with cement trucks that ended like the one today. I always cringe when I see one coming, but a lot of good that will do me if it tips over. I will keep that family in my prayers.

The dr. thought dgd17mos. was doing fine. So they gave her her flu and dtap vaccinations. Which she was not happy about. Dgd16s dr thinks she has some kind of bacteria, so they did blood work. If that comes up negative he wants her to have a sonogram because due to the location of pain, gall stones are possible. I haven't heard if dd2 has gotten the results yet.

None of dd2s employees want to work Wed. nights, so she had scheduled dgd16. With her sick, dd2 had to work, with the 2 little girls. I told her if she got busy to let me know and I would come down and watch the girls. Dd1 called and I told her the situation, so she said she would go down and spend time with the 3 of them. It worked for me. I was just too tired to offer to keep them. This stupid cold is really a pain.

Back from the Seaway. Nearly ran out of gas on the way there. Got the first audio warning. Dh left too late and there was a lineup at the general store so we pushed it. And made it. But we got there too late to do the ownership transfer - they will mail it to us tomorrow.

Got a good tutorial on the car, then had our fish and chip dinner (taking it to the mall's food court rather than eating in the car, overlooking the Seaway.) At the mall was a shoe store I had wanted to get to since they had a sale starting yesterday. Bought a pair of dress boots and dh got some running shoes. Plus we got a cable to connect our phones to the car to recharge and I bought a book for our car records.

The drive home was smooth. The new car has an even smoother ride than the old one.
