I agree, OKay, the idea of dancing through our days on Friday has always made me smile. I don't think it's so much a concept of hurrying but of having gotten good at these things and knowing what's needed so well that it's like a dance. And, yes, it can be energetic and cheerful. Our many "steps" around the house and through our podas are great for our brains!

Hope Kathryn will not mind but will use her as an example since she says in H and F that she had 3978 steps yesterday that were not a "walk" at all but work around the house and car. That's a lot.

Had just commented in holiday thread that online shopping seems to be working for me right now, too, so I may try to stick with it more through the holidays.

Glad you are getting close, Twins' Mom.

blessed, the putting away is a HUGE part of the success of the project!

Stay safe, lucylee. Once out and enjoying the bluegrass you'll feel more energized.

Dee, I hope you get energized once you get into the day, too. Sorry about the night's sleep.

Mention of WM and I know that is an upcoming need for me. We need to buy a new room humidifier.

Today is my ddad's 6-month appt with the urologist, who always just sits and chats and charges us money, saying he wouldn't do anything at my ddad's age anyway even if he found something wrong. I think we ought to be able to phone that in. Instead, it is a big chunk out of HRH's day and mine. We do have a pick-up at pharmacy #1, so at least that's a bit of combined tasks. My ddad really can't walk through stores well, and waits in a car worse, so it's doubtful we'll do more than the drive through pharmacy window.

Dd needs to really push on her room, laundry and any homework this evening and early Saturday as she has yet another friend calling for a sleepover Sat night, then the mother may let me pick both up for SS the next morning.

BookSaver, I have more than just a load I'm  to say. We are approaching Mt. Washmore here despite best intentions. There is always an interruption.

We had fun getting to watch some of our grand son's flag foot ball practice last night.

Got the car oil changed yesterday, the place forgot to vacuum it so
I asked that they do that before we left, and the boss had to do that and
discovered the windows were not washed either so he did those also.

Had a small pan pizza first time in a couple years my bs was in my target
range this morning.

H. got up early to do sandwiches it was his turn this week. But only 1/2 hr. earlier was not enough time. DUh! I thought he was getting up a full hr. earlier. He learned that was what he needed to assemble eleven sandwiches. So I had to get up and slice tomatoes and put pickles
on them and help put them in baggies.

Coffee is on.
Last of the Laundry is in the washer now.
I've fed the chickens.
Straightened up the bed.

Dgson will be here after school today.
Yesterday I finished up a child's size prayer shawl in the pastel fuzzy yarn dgd was a perfect fit for it. I'm going another in white as that's the color of yarn I had & now know it will make one that size!

Kellogg's cereal recall mini wheats do not have any of those p/c is not working up to par today for a link about it sorry. Heard this on the news. I almost got some of that kind of cereal SO glad I decided not to.

Morning y'all...

Don't know what I'll do today but know where I will be.....OUTSIDE :D

The highfor today will be 78. Finally the weather I've been waiting for see me do my happy dance...

I'm up. First thing I did was open all the windows in the house. Then I made my oatmeal and coffee. Right now I am enjoying my coffee. Need to go to the post office to mail a few packages. I can drive with my windows rolled down. I have outside work I can do, but may just walk doggies and then take my book outside and read...Ahhh for me a real slice of heaven. Gonna enjoy it while I can. Next week we should be back up in the 90's. Such is life in the desert :D

We Have Rain, Blessed Rain! It has been so long and we more than need this. :D

OKay, I am an online shopper and as far as I am concerned, there is no better way. I cannot stand having to go to stores to try on clothes and etc. This is the way to go. Of course, that doesn't mean that when I am in AZ I don't dislike going to the "girlie store" as Cowinkie calls it. (Actually it is U L T A and they even send me a catalog and coupons! )

3 more days and we are on our way to San Jose and Monterey. Monterey/Carmel first and then to SJ to see dggd. This trip has to be made now because we won't see her again until April. Then......she will introduce us to her new baby sister/brother. We are excited. We will find out when we are down there which it will be.

Happy weekend to all! :D

Finished up my dishes and now have a pot of chili going. Since dh got soaked earlier in a hail/rain storm, I'm sure it'll sound good to him for lunch/dinner. Trying very hard to have our main meal earlier in the day -easier to control my BS by doing that. Once again last night it was late when we ate. Even though I only had scrambled w/cheese & bacon crumbles, it was after 6:30 & BS was 119 this morning. Not bad, but it needs to be lower. Think it gives credence to my 'eating late' theory of being harder to burn.

Fridge & freezer are doing well at dwindling. May take some things like catsup & relish to family get-together on Sunday. We don't eat those anyway, but have them through the summer for burgers & dogs for everyone. Do have plenty of hot dogs left, so may suggest that for a Sunday night supper next week. I can pick up rolls (though we don't eat those either). I'll leave the last Sunday, the 28th to DDILs. Bringing taco shells, chopped onion and some beverage this week. Easy, huh?

DH got his $100 check today from Strong hospital for the COPD study he did. Nice! That was an easy one. DDIL is letting us know if there's one we can participate in. Most we can't because of being gone 6 months.

Have to pick up a change of address form today (or maybe I'll just do it online). Will be at the post office so it would be $3 cheaper to do it that way I guess. But I'm with Harriet & Okay -online shopping as much as possible. Have some gifts wrapped for the boys' families and will take them next week so they can store them away until Christmas. Would like to get a little more done however. I did join A mazon's Prime membership so know it'll be free shipping for the most part. Had a hard time deciding when to start & end forwards. Ended up with Oct 27th and April 22nd. Hoping that works. That reminds me I need to send an email to the credit union. They were supposed to change us to paperless statements. Not according to yesterday's mail. :|

Good morning, village! It is barely still morning here. I have one lol started.

I love online shopping, too. I'm always amazed at how fast A mazon orders get here.

Nancy, your child-sized prayer shawl sounds very cute!

Almost gave up on coming here, as DH put a security thing on this laptop while I was away. Now it runs excruciatingly slow. The free trial has 3 more weeks. Surely, he won't pay for this, I hope! It took forever to check the daily obits from both my parents hometowns. I always check them, because that is the only way I know if a close relative has died.

Glad that Norma has rain and Cowinkie has open-window temps! Thank you all for the nice 'welcome back' yesterday!
Going to run errands today, so I can avoid the Saturday rush.

Sigh, I'd gotten one load of laundry done and now HRH is here and says no more. He is worried that I will be torn between laundry I need to hang and getting out the door in time to be early for the appt. He cannot bear not to be early for dr's appts. It is a habit he learned a long time ago when we all thought drs hung moons and he just can't get out of it. In truth, my ddad will nag him about the time, so I guess it's just as well.

On school run I may have to park and talk to the girls. There is a conflict between the time the other girl's family wants to pick up dd and the funeral visitation/funeral for her great aunt. (They've decided to do the same thing I did with Mama's - both at church within a two-hour period.) Neither of my other children can attend, plus dd will miss greeting out-of-town relatives who really would appreciate seeing her. Do you suggest to a family that they pick your child up at a funeral? Sigh. Probably not. This would cut hours into the time they thought they could be together. I am truly torn. I could let her see as many people as possible, return her to the house for pick-up and then try to attend the funeral later myself... ...at least the graveside. Sigh. Multi-sigh.

Harriet I would say it's okay to pick up dd where - ever and just say "church" instead of funeral.

I am back from my walk today's exercise is done!
Having some hot tea right now.
While I think about the rest of my day and plan alt. dinner idea as it's supposed to cloud up and rain is possible grilling may not be the best option. Thought of something on my walk if I could just think of it now; oh yes baked pumpkin and meat balls w/ salad.

Hi everyone! :)

After a busy week, I was determined to get here today. I've been spending most of my computer time in the attic. When I cleared off the table up there recently, it motivated me to tackle the second half of my organizing project from last year. I got a little overwhelmed a few times because there were so many boxes of misc to sort through. Each time I was thankful for the tips I've learned from Pam & Peggy over the years. Using the 4 box method is always a big help, as is putting things I wanted to keep in the vicinity of where I wanted them to be stored, even though I didn't know the exact permanent place for the items yet.

At one point I felt like I couldn't move without banging into or stepping on something, so I brought all the garbage bags to the outside can, cut & flattened empty cardboard boxes, & brought donation boxes down to a storage area in the basement for next time I'm headed to the town where Goodwill is. It helped a lot to have clear space to move around in. I've had a lot of fun with this & it is so satisfying & motivating to see progress! :-)

Sheets are washing, dinner is planned, & the dining room table is begging for attention. Lots of mail & misc to go through on there that I really must deal with today. Finished putting away non perishable groceries this morning after getting flu shot, & pulled out my guacamole recipe. I want to mix up all the ingredients except for the avacado so that when they ripen it will be easy to mash & add them. Would love to spend a little time in the attic, too, if there is enough daylight time left later.

Harriet, about your dad not having a lot of strength to walk through stores -- do you think he would be agreeable to a wheelchair? We used one for dmil, & it was nylon & foldable & lightweight enough for me to easily put it in my trunk. It was so convenient to quickly wheel her through parking lots & stores, & she loved getting out of the house. When we got to the departments she wanted to shop in she had plenty of energy to get up & walk because all her strength wasn't depleted by a long walk from the car. If I remember right, her doctor wrote a prescription for the chair & Med i care paid for the monthly rental of it. If your ddad would enjoy going with you to run your errands, it would give you more freedom. If he were to get agitated, though, then it wouldn't help either of you. Maybe consider borrowing a wheelchair & doing some trial runs with both you & HRH to see how it would go?

Dryer buzzed a few minutes ago & tea is long gone. Off to finish my PODA (or as P&P said -- Parade of Daily Adventures  ). Waving ~~~~~ to everyone here & all who stop by later. Have a wonderful day! :)
