Is LO better tonight?
Not yet. He is still sitting and watching TV. Hopefully tomorrow the meds will take affect and he will start to feel better.

I have told LO not to draw on himself and he is good about not doing it. Today, the pediatrician took a marker and started outlining the swollen/red area on LO thigh so it would be easy to tell if the red inflamed shot area was expanding or getting smaller. LO told the doctor .... NO! You aren't suppose to write on my skin!  Before he would let the doctor finish doing it, I had to explain to him that it was okay for a doctor to write on his skin, but we aren't suppose to.

Not sure what we will do with ourselves tomorrow.

This was supposed to have posted a long time ago and I was interrupted for hours. Sorry If it's a repeat by now. (Kathryn wonderful visit with your uncle)

ellyphant, first get the avatar image/photo you want sized correctly (90 x 90 pixels, and there are good directions for this within the Tips and How-tos forum), then save it to your computer. Click on User Control Panel at top left of your screen here, and then click on Profile and then Edit Avatar. You'll see the maximum dimensions explained there, and below that you'll see the space that says "Upload from your machine". Just "select" that avatar image from your computer image listing to place it into the "Upload from your machine" space. Click "submit" and you should be done.

I also find that style of parent-teacher conferencing to be time-wasting. Another thing I don't think people realize is that there is just no privacy, which could be important. Also a lot of distraction is going on, hearing just a few feet away about a different child's grades (no one's business). Of course it can be fast - no one wants to say much out loud - positive or negative - into a room of other waiting people, whether it is particularly positive or negative.
If you don't believe in miracles, you're not being realistic.

I am going to bed right now. I am so far behind I feel like I'll never get caught up.

The house is stickier than it was this morning. I did not get the vacuuming or mopping done. I did get us fed and the kitchen mostly cleaned up. Still dishes out there. I spent over 1 hour trying to fix DGD's cup, which she is very attached to. It is a regular sippy cup except for the top which has a nipple-like soft insert top. I think she's too old for this, but not my kid. The soft part comes out so it can be cleaned in all the grooves. I cannot get it back together properly. I wasted a lot of time with it. And got very frustrated.

DGD went out in the pool after supper and I thought DH would sit there with her for a bit, but he wandered off to water the garden, etc., and I had so much still to do...we didn't stay out long, it was getting buggy. Hopefully I will feel better after a rest. I never did get a rest this afternoon, the phone rang a bunch and I had to do payroll.

Kathryn, your DUncle sounds wonderful. It is a shame he is not enjoying his life instead of wishing it away.

So off I go to take meds, take out the dog, and go to bed.

Okay, I am so sorry LO has strep and your trip was cancelled. I hope by morning he is feeling better.

Tonight dh was invited to the Nascar race this Sunday in Kansas City. One of the guys from out of town who he is going on the Galveston trip with had 2 extra tickets and invited him and the guy from here. Dh told me I could say no. Well I could have, but I didn't have the heart to. He took it hard when I told him that his dsis cancer is stage 4. This won't change that, but will keep him occupied this weekend. Tomorrow is dd2 open house for her business and starting at 5 is B oo at the Z oo. The kids dress up and you follow a path thru the zoo and get candy and other goodies. With the boys home she needs help getting all of them to the zoo plus she wants to be in and out of the business during the day. So with dh out of town, I can help and I won't have to worry about him having too much time to think. So that is my tomorrow.
Today dd2 had someone in the shop continuously for 6 hours. Tonight is the adult party and there were others painting also. Dd2 just called and the party was a sucess and they want to do it again. I am thrilled for her.

Well I need to wash my hair so it will be ready for me to color in the morning.
