OKay, That's super there is a carnival at the casino for little ones! It's great everything's free and the kids will have so much fun.

Ddil just phoned from the hospital. (Posted over at J & C's thread). She's 19 weeks along now, 2 weeks ago she got shingles, then viral meningitis. The baby's fine and she's kicking, but Ddil is nauseous and on antibiotics. Might get to go home next week sometime. She's been in the hospital 2 weeks now, Dson didn't call because he's stressed, trying to take care of 6 sons, ages 18 months - 15 1/2, is working 1/2 days, etc.... She's feeling better, which is good.

Cowinkie, am praying for the East Coast folks in the way of that terrible storm.

Dee, I hope the worst of that Sandy storm is over and gone by the time you leave, too. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, too.

I hope everybody has a good weekend and that Sandy will go out to sea. Stay safe.

My computer is running great this evening!
The coffee maker broke this week too.
TV down stairs has no sound and no words coming on the screen
so we are just learning to share again. It's not "my" night so h. is watching wrestling. My night was last night.
I'm trying to cuop at least for today.
We are back from the store.

Nancy, I am so glad that your computer is fixed.

Dd2 and her morning guy have joked about having a crowd waiting for them to open. This morning she had conferences for dgd16, so she was planning to go in about 20 minutes late. She had already been down there to put money in the cash register. On her way to take the 2 little girls to daycare, her morning guy called and told her there was a crowd waiting this morning. Dd2 and all the help park in the back and enter thru the back door. You enter into the back room and then there is another door to the main area. When her helper went thru there he was shocked to see so many people waiting outside. Dd2 and I were on the phone when he called her. I didn't hear from her again until she was on the way to pick up the little girls from daycare. They were busy all day. After the open house and radio promotion for it, her business had really taken off. 2 of her workers are out of town this weekend, so she had to hire dgd16s boyfriend so she will have enough help. He works at the local D Q, so he will work for dd2 as needed and when available. Tomorrow is the day that dd2 is having a booth at the annual craft and antique festival. It runs from 9 to 6. She was so busy today that she will have to go early in the morning to set up. Now she is wishing she hadn't signed up for this. Her intial plan was for me and the 2 little girls to be with her. Today I told her that I thought I should just watch them at her house. Dgd18mos is too old to park in a stroller for the day and too young to stay put. So guess I will be at her house. She wants me to get her vehicle, so that I won't be stranded all day and can bring the girls down for awhile.

So as late as it is, I guess I better head to bed.

Nancy! Great to see you back. Sorry about the coffeemaker and the tv. We don't share tv very well around here.

Ivy, sorry about your DD's setback. Does she have that meningitis that's all over the news these days?

(OKay) wow. As usual, I am in awe of how calmly and optimistically you deal with bad news.

For once this Florida gal gets to wish the rest of the country safety in the path of storm. The surf along the east coast was pretty wild today, but we didn't even get any rain. Oh, I hope it doesn't impact election day for them.

Just puttering around today. Fielded a gazillion phone calls. Put together a pretty big paper package for DH who arrived with his arms full of folders and blueprints and sent him off to a couple county offices. Went back through a year of church minutes and compiled a report of numbers for our head who has to create the annual report in the next couple days. I'm glad she is doing this. It's on my job description page, but I see the head gal actually writes it up.

Slept a couple hours, ready to go back to bed.

Hi, Nancy, I'm glad you're back!

Made it to almost all of the places listed this morning. I ended up skipping the bank and Goodwill, and substituting a stop at my favorite clothing store.

After my mention of not liking to shop for clothes, I remembered that the store was having a 40% off sale that included bras, which are rarely discounted that much. I was lucky enough to find 2 bras in my size so now I can get rid of 2 old ones.

I looked at a bunch of blouses and sweaters. Even at 40% off, though, I didn't see anything I couldn't live without. Nothing looked right for a holiday gathering. I don't want a whole new outfit, just a new top.

I'm out of energy tonight. Tomorrow morning I need to put my apron back on and deal with the 3 Ds --
* stack of dirty dishes
* 3 loads of laundry
* update pantry inventory and rearrange canned goods to try to get everything into the cupboards -- the annual jigsaw puzzle of stocking up for winter

Harmony, It's my Ddil, married to Dson, who is having viral meningitis brought on by shingles 2 weeks ago. She's 19 weeks along with a baby girl, too. I'm concerned about her.

Nancy, It's nice to "see" you again.

Booksaver, I'm glad you found 2 bras in your size. That's great! Sorry you're out of energy. Aprons make me smile. Dmom used to wear them in the 1950's a lot.

Lilac, It sounds like her business is really doing great. I hope she'll have enough help, too. You must be proud of her.

I voted tonight. I've been meaning to do it and just got done. When DH votes, we'll put the ballots in drop-off not far from here. It's a relief to have it done now.

I have some mending and hemming to do, so hopefully this weekend I can get to that.

I can't believe it's Friday night already. The week's gone by so swiftly. Do the weeks speed by, sometimes, for any of you, too? I don't know if it's just the time of year, my age, or the season, being right before Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it speeds by, sometimes. I guess it's better than being bored and having time pass too slow though. I'm rambling because I'm tired, so sorry, and goodnight.
