Just wanted to say good morning to all of you! :D

Stay SAFE, you in Sandy's path. I have a DF on the coast and others, there, too, whom I'm concerned about. Plus, of course, being concerned about everyone in general, too. It's a monster of a storm. :o

My PODA today is simple:
1- Do laundry, mainly sheets and re-make the bed
2- Dust, if I can muster up the gumption to do it. Needs to be done.
3- Dust mop, which is really a rather fun thing to do. I don't know why.
4- Walk 30 minutes

Waving hello to you all, I hope everyone keeps safe, I know that's redundant and I've already said it, but I MEAN it! ♥

Have a good Magnificent and Safe Monday! :D

((Bernice)) Yes, come here to vent or for support as you need. I hope you will come out to a better place in your life on the other side of this.

Dove, for some reason I thought you were west of me!

Stay SAFE everyone in the path of Sandy. I wonder if Harriet is catching stormy weather today? It kind of looked like it on the satellite photo I saw.

Hebrew is more than half done; I worked on it for about 2 hours this a.m. Then, I s2s-ed, had some devo time, had some lunch. Made a phone call. Dealt with moms group email. It seems like I must have done more b/c it is not almost 2 pm. . . .I'm heading back to the Hebrew books now.

Slipping further and further behind.

Am heading off for shopping now. Have to go into the suburbs.

No rain here, no wind, just overcast. By now we were to have gusts up to 40 mph so I'm thinking Weather Underground was right and the government weather service is wrong.

(((Bernice))) I know there's a lot to be done right now but you can use us as safe place to vent. Put things in Members Only if you are worried about prying eyes.

Have some friends along the lake shore who are evacuating as we speak. Now they're calling for 20' waves to hit the lake shore region.

I've been working on my church council minutes. I just finished typing after much time, only to realize I DON'T have to have them there before we leave. Dawned on me as I checked the date of submission that it's not until the 12th not this coming Monday! So I think I'll wait to do my proofing when I'm not so distracted by the news and the mess around me. The wind has just started to audibly blow. Think now I'll focus on getting things ready to go in the car. Lots of things to do in that regard. If I can, later, I'll go work on the car and start taking some things out. I'm such a wimp when it comes to nasty weather -I hate going out in it.

DH is surely going to want to 1) warm up and 2) take a shower when he gets done today. He's been in once or twice for a bathroom break and that's it. Not even stopping to eat!

Hoping to hear from Harriet.

Hello to all!

Dove--Good luck with the sump pumps. It's a waiting game here, too. DH is at work. I have done all I can to prepare. Have extra water for drinking. Filled extra jars and pitchers in the fridge. Have extra ice. Made big ice blocks by filling tupperware containers and putting those in freezer. Garden tub is full of water for flushing, since we have a well. I hope all this will prove to be unnecessary!

Radio, candles, flashlights are ready. Have propane grill, plenty of blankets and reading material (a must!). We're getting lots of wind and rain, but nothing to be alarmed about, yet. The worst is about 6 hours away for us. Local weather guy is saying to expect heavy, wet snow on Tuesday and Wednesday! Just would like DH to get here safely tonight, before all heck breaks loose!

BTW, I have the crockpot going for supper tonight. How's that for positive thinking? Praying that power will stay on at least through the dinner hour!

Hugs to Bernice and thinking of others here.

(((Bernice))) - BTDT, my DKs and I are much happier w/o a stressful marriage to deal with, many of my DFriends seem to think I need to find a Boyfriend/DH but after two very stressful "marriages" and break-ups I am a bit cynical in regard to the idea. I know it is hard right now but keep your head up and vent here as often as nessecary. I am available via PM if you need someone who has gone through it.

Cowinkie - prayers for your Brother

Howdy to everyone else!

Sandy has not lived up to the hype here in Central VA, I've seen worse in no name storms. DP's DH works IT for the power company and is getting off at 3:30 if that gives you any inclination. Praying for all those is the North East.

DK's are working in the Kitchen so that I can get in there and make some Low-Carb Spaghetti for dinner since DP's DH is on a Low-Carb Diet. Has anyone made Garlic Tortilla's? I don't want to make Garlic Bread because it is too much Carbs but I have Whole Wheat Tortillas and am thinking about making an alternative.

Hi everyone! My house got nearly undecorated yesterday. It took most of the day. After that, I wove the ends in for the crocheted sweater, which I am wearing today. Lunch is eaten and resume sent to a friend. I have looked at the Playmobil site for DD10's Christmas stuff. When she outgrows Playmobil, I am going to have a real problem! I made a list of everything I think she would like and now need to pare it down to what I can afford. The prices are quite reasonable, but there are 25 items on the list!

My boss is away and so is my coworker, so after this I am going to do some job searching! That way the evening will be free for the fun of paying bills (essential), balancing checkbook, putting away laundry, and completing the undecorating process. I am still somewhat sore from lifting all those Halloween bins yesterday.

Hugs to Bernice. I just passed the one year anniversary of my divorce (XDH's idea not mine, complete surprise).

Back from the stores. Currently running 2.5 hours behind. Dh is on a call with our friend in the DC end of Virginia. Looks like they'll dodge the worst of the storm. For me, the winds picked up a bit but not much and just a light sprinkle of rain as I pulled into the driveway at home but that must have been excess moisture in a cloud because it isn't raining now.

I'm off to bed for 45 minutes or so.
