Saturday Swing

Post by BookSaver »

Good morning, villagers ~
I've no idea why the "St Lous Blues March" by Glenn Miller is stuck in my head right now, but I'm enoying it. I love both swing band and blues music.

The rain is supposed to hold off until tomorrow, so today I'm hoping to swing through more clean-up in the garage. Not sure what DH has planned. I hope he'll have time to help me move items that are too heavy for me to do by myself.

I'm up and at it. No schedule written up for the day but I'll need one. It is sunny now which wasn't forecast. We still have a ton of outside chores to do so maybe we'll get a couple done today and ease the load for tomorrow.

Ds is obviously coming back for dinner since his computer and clothes are here. He's off on his first aid course today. Last night he was writing out things to learn on index cards and said (grinnning), "who would have thought writing things out on index cards is a great way to learn?!" I told him he was lucky I didn't punch him right there and then! Part of it is that he wants to learn this material (as opposed to English Lit) and part of it is that he's older now. At least all those unsuccessful learning tricks we did when he was young stuck in his head enough that he retried them now that he wants to learn. He's really excited to be part of ski patrol so that's a great motivation. Just like getting his SCUBA certification was motivation for trips to the doctor and lots of studying for that.

Today holds some outside work, lots of laundry since ds grabbed the machines last night, some church work, a trip to the grocery store and then a shower tonight (or after yard work) so that I don't have to shower tomorrow. We could shower since we'll have water but rather than push the generator, I'll just let it run a few lights and the heat and water for light washing up. The water heater isn't on the generator but the heat pump puts excess heat into the hot water tank so our water will not go cold even if we use up a lot of the water from the tank.

When I first woke up at 6:05 a.m. I was trying to think of an "S" word. I went back to sleep and I'm happy that someone started this thread. Swing is much better than whatever was floating around in my sleepy head... :D

I have a lot to do today and none of it involves housework. Mike and I need to take dd's car to her in Toronto. I also want to go for lunch and stop at Michaels. (Mike broke my Ott lite, so he's going to buy me a new one and he has a 50% off coupon for today. :D )

When Mike wakes up, we can get ready to go.

Good morning! I slept in this morning - was 9:30 before I got up - I still need to take ddogs out for their walk but they are being patient.

Somewhat late evening - dh and I were at temple and we were among the later ones to leave. When we got home we walked ddogs, then dh went next door where they had a fire going in their firepit. (Beautiful evening - clear as a bell and the panoramic view of the hills and mountains is spectacular!) I stayed in because I was kind of "socialed out" by temple. But.....dneighbors had friends over who had their dog with them, and my dog boys could not settle down, even later when dh came back they still were raising cain. I finally closed our blinds altogether and shut them up in the bedroom with me and things finally settled down late.

Nothing on the calendar today. I need to deal with some temple biz and do some laundry and clean up/straighten up but otherwise am blessedly unscheduled. Dh gone to torah study, I know he'll be wanting to get out and go places later.

There is a large event on the river this weekend, so going downtown for almost anything may be difficult.

Ok, to change clothes and get these ddogs walked.

Morning y'all.... Nitters....Lynlee

I'm up, doggies fed, footprints gone, breakfast made and eaten, and I'm now working on my coffee. Need to make my magic potion and then start the rest of the day.

Sweetie and I are going to two car shows. The wearer is perfect and it is a great way to spend some time outside. I have no idea what's for dinner....maybe In and out.

Waving to y'all. Enjoy your day. Cya'll....
