Sunday Standard Time

Hello!
We are babysitting tonight, till ds & ddil get back from supper, so -- as you can all imagine -- everything went on "halt" for a little while. Dgson is now napping in his basinett, though, so all is calm. We took him to the nursing home to visit dh's aunt, also.
Dh is sooo ill w/ds & ddil... * sigh *
OF COURSE they have not completed thank you notes...
and they have not scheduled christening...
but they are already talking about putting up Christmas tree & taking picture of dgs for Christmas card!

I did tell ddil to please make ds sit down and help her finish the thank you's before they did the Christmas cards, b/c I thought that little kinda bad to say "we have time to send cards showing off the baby, but we don't have time to thank you for the gift." * sheesh *
But I also told dh that our problems are pretty small, compared to what some people go through re: their adult children, and I know y'all would be the first to back me up on that.

I have washed sheets today and done another load of laundry, s/s toilets, taken allergy shots, and
dh and I went to CVS and dmil's, along w/nursing home visit.
I need to get sheets back on the bed. That would be #1 priority, I guess.

So sorry for the men in our village who are not feeling well... (((Mr. Sunny)))... (((HRH)))...

Dcousins had Halloween decorations stolen off their front porch. And they supposedly live in a safe, calm subdivision. However, they have been reporting a rash of burglaries in their neighborhood lately.

I slept about 19 hours last night, and then took a nap this afternoon... so I'm hoping I can sleep tonight, too! But it sure did help to get that long rest last night. Hated that I missed Car 54 Where Are You? though... I never watched that show when I was growing up -- I think it ended before I remember -- but now that it comes on late-night analog tv channel, I just love it! However, it doesn't come on until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday/Sunday morning... so it's no wonder I'm always falling asleep in church.

We had a good church service this morning, All Saints Day Sunday, and we lit candles for all our members who have passed away in the past year, so that was a nice way to remember dfil and others.
Also had christening service for dbaby who was born day after dgs... and that of course, got dh in high gear about ds/ddil and their lack of concern/lack of planning for ANYTHING. * sheesh *

Hi everyone - remember me?? Sorry for not posting but I've been busy with lots of stuff for the church here.

Harriet and the rest of the apron crowd - I posted a couple apron pictures on my blog, Finally got it up a 9 pm instead of 8 am today.

Made a huge pot of veggie soup in the crock pot while we were at church. It sure did smell good when we got home. Think I might ask my friend and her sister over for soup tomorrow night.

Falling asleep and have to be up and about before 8 tomorrow for Park Beautification Committee. So I'm headed for bed.

Sheets on bed... kitchen s/s... laundry out of dryer and put away... all dgs's stuff gathered up together...

Slowly, though. It is sooo easy for me to get sucked into this computer.

I forgot what I listed on my PODA this morning. I know I did not crochet, but I fixed the bed up, with DH's help, wrote a lot in my journal, did my devotion, Novena, prayed, and dumped trash from the bathroom. I did some hot spots, got terribly tired, so rested about 1 hour in a twilight sleep. I was sort of asleep, but could hear the TV going.

I was thinking about making Dson a scarf for Christmas with a hat, looked for the patterns in my file and am stunned I actually found them!

DH got a DVD called, "The A-Team" for his b-day from our Dfriends. We'll watch it at 9 p.m., so I'll try to crochet then.

It rained on and off today and later in the week the temps will be in the 40's for a high. I wrote DH's list for Costco, when he goes later in the week. He has a monthly retirees luncheon to go to this week, too.

Tomorrow I have the deed to call the ins. co. because they didn't pay anything on the $450 lab work done before my physical. The lab said they billed them twice, but they never responded. This occurred last year, I was told how the ins. co. did not recognize me as being one of their clients because of 2 digits being off in my number. I need to ask them some questions about 2013, too. And in 2014, I'll no longer be covered by them because I'm a retiree's wife who is not Medicare. I'm almost 61 and DH is Medicare. I'll have to get insurance somehow some other way, when that time comes. I have a wonderful company in mind though, which I'm very happy about and even heard they'll send a rep to our home, to talk over the plan and set everything up for me. I think that's really nice of them to do that.

Also, I need to re-order a med, which the dr. needs to be faxed by the pharmacy and then she'll fax them back. Need to also re-order my thyroid med, too. It's incredible that on Mon. when I went to call the ins. co., how their voice mail said due to inclement weather they were out of the office, from Sandy. Hopefully they'll be there tomorrow. I'm also wondering about my pharmacy, if they, too, had Sandy there. I hope Monday will be a good phone business day for me.

Lucylee, I know what you mean by getting sucked into the computer! It's the black hole! Does baby-sitting wear you out? It does me.

Emptynester, It sounds like you've been so busy lately and have gotten a ton of things done! WTG!

Kathryn, Thanks for explaining the power outages, too. I see where they need to do them for the work they do. Glad you got in a nap, too.

Scattered, I think you're right about noisier girls and that boys are quieter. The boys are into things that keep them quiet and girls get so loud and excitable and rowdy! I had a sister, too. I know.

Elizabeth, Sorry your house was a disaster after DD10 came and went. It's nice you went to church and ate lunch out, too. I hope the cat doesn't remain traumatized. Ours took awhile to get used to our home when we adopted her, too. She's a Tortoise Shell and gets a bit skittish from time to time.

Sunny, I hope your DH gets better soon.

Sunny, thanks for admiring my PMA. I just don't think it could be bad because blood work was normal in August and if this was "something", wouldn't lab work have shown something?

Harriet, How is HRH? How's the heater? Better, I hope.

I'm going to watch that movie with DH in 8 minutes, so I'd better sign off here soon. I've got a lot of things to do tomorrow, too. Everyone have a good sleep, a good night and a nice beginning to our week tomorrow. Wanna know something kind of "funny"? I read that Veteran's Day is Sun. Nov. 11, so I usually see "Veteran's Day Observed" on our wall calendars and NONE of them, and we have many in different rooms, mentions "Observed" on Mon. for Veteran's Day! I had to "Google" and go to the USPS site to find out it IS observed. But why didn't anybody print it on their calendars THIS YEAR? Are they trying to save ink? Were they confused, too? Why? It's just odd to me. Usually, year after year, we know these things because they're on the calendar. The next postal holidays are Thanksgiving and Christmas, but those are no brainers.

Ivy, sometimes it is exhausting to keep dgs, but usually it's fine, b/c he still naps a lot, and he isn't even crawling yet, so we don't have to chase after him. I know it will REALLY get rough later.

You sound like you have REALLY accomplished a lot today.

I think dh just about made ddil mad tonight, b/c he kept pressing the issue of the christening. I tried to tell him to just "back off..." and ddil never let on that she was getting angry... but she just said twice "Well, we'll do it when we do it..." * sigh *
DH just gets sooo frustrated with them. I do, too, but I am not quite so OCD about things being done NOW as he is. DH is just sooo punctual and sooo organized with everything he does that he cannot understand people who procrastinate.

I need to get in the bed and try to start this week right.
