I also have trouble coming up with words sometimes, but occasionally I bring up one that is not so much in common use. I do read a lot still....

Just talked to vet about Macs - no cancer, just liver inflammation and weird blood work, like Kathryn. We're going to try a course of antibiotics now. University guy didn't call me back today about the throw-up from the frat boys in our parking lot. sorry for TMI

I've ordered a pizza - once I eat something I'll walk ddogs and be in for the night.

Helia, the office mgr/secretary at the temple just did one of those and got a virus. She had forwarded the email to me to "look at" but it was too late.

Lucylee, your dh and mine are a lot alike when they get something on their minds. Does your dh want the christening for the religious aspect or the social aspect?

The religious aspect, Twins, but I don't think he thinks I'm worse off than him, because I wasn't christened. He just thinks it's something we're "supposed to DO" you know? I mean, the service is very meaningful to him and he is very sincere about the religious aspects of it -- and I think ds is, too -- it's just that ds feels so constrained by his own schedule. He has missed church just about every weekend since dgs was born b/c he's been playing somewhere.
Then dh starts grumbling to me, "Well... I hope they don't wait till dgs is able to walk down to the altar himself..."
Yes... I think you know all too well what I'm up against here.

LOL, Lucy, yes I know the routine. When they get something in their head, it's just the way it's supposed to be, and heaven forbid it doesn't turn out the way they envision.

Dh is still grousing about the house, the bugs outside, the yard, dd, not having all the pictures, etc. that we own on the walls. And he likes the new house.

Ddogs walked.

Of course, it seems like it should be bedtime! I am going to read.

I am so glad today is almost over.

The medical appts took longer than i had hoped.
** hearing test - This test had a totally different outcome than LO last hearing test (different ENT office). I am angry they messed up so bad. I've talked to 2 doctors about it and plan to talk to 2 more. I'm going to make sure the word gets around what a bad job they did.
** ENT doc pre-op visit. After getting the results of today's hearing test, the doc expects LO hearing will improve by 35% at least after the surgery.
** Surgery center pre-op registration. I filled out a dozen papers while LO met with "Skip". Skip will be taking LO back to surgery and they became fast friends today. LO is looking forward to going to see Skip on Friday. On advice from a friend, I made sure that LO won't have to take all his clothes off. He will be allowed to wear his underwear into surgery.
** Hospital out-patient registration then we went to the lab for the blood draw. When we pulled into the hospital parking lot, LO started asking one question over and over "Are they going to take my blood?" I tried to sidetrack him. I tried to distract him. I tried to humor him. I tried to ignore his question. But there was no getting around answering him. He talked to everyone he saw about it....well over a dozen strangers had a conversation with him. They gave him advice and encouragement, but all he was interested in was someone who would tell him that he wasn't going to have a needle stuck in him. He cried about 10 minutes curled up in my lap before we went into the office and I had a small hope that he had cried it out and would face it head on. Nope. It took 4 of us holding him while he SCREAMED during the blood draw. Exhausting for all.
** Two trips to the pharmacy to get LO meds for the surgery. The insurance computers were down all afternoon and the prescriptions couldn't be processed without them (unless I wanted to pay the full price myself). I have another doc appt in the morning so I'll stop by the pharmacy and can hopefully pick up the prescriptions tomorrow.
** I arrived at DParents home just moments before one of DDaddy "melt-downs". Morphine under his tongue relaxed him & slowed his heart down enough for him to start breathing again.....and all is well.

(((OKay & LO))) I made it larger because ya'll need a BIG hug. I remember going through all that with DS19. His were so bad that he did not start talking until he was almost 3. He ended up having to have 2 sets and then another surgery to have his tonsils removed, before the ear infections finally started to clear up. Up until he was 4 he would have 2-3 infections a month (yes I'm serious) if he only had 1 we were celebrating, from October - June. He is now perfect okay so it's been a good day and I don't want to kill him. When I worked as a Lab tech and then as a paramedic I would "burrito" LO's in a sheet to stick them. I had it down to a science so that it would only take 2 of us to get the job done and the kiddos felt loved rather then restrained.

Ugh, I really need to get my orders in... crap just figured out that I need something from my Captain first. Well, yet another thing that gets to wait till Wednesday.

Dinner is done, not much energy left. Need to flip Bert & Ernie, slice remaining meat, and make beds. Think the DS's will get to make their own beds and I will make mine when I go up to bed. Feel the need for some serious chocolate will I watch my show.

Back from choir practice. It went as well as can be expected since I'm a slow learner. And we had bad news for the church musician.

The memorial service for our friend's wife will be on Sunday afternoon. Given it is a 5 hour drive, I left the decision to dh. He wanted to do both things and would be said to miss either of them. So then he made the critieria "which would he regret missing." The answer was the memorial service so we told our church musician that we won't be there for the musical Sunday service (which I'm writing but thankfully not leading.)

Ivy: I'm a lay preacher who is licensed to do pulpit supply for our denomination in this region. I've also done a service for a Presbyterian church 100 miles away when they were really stuck. I'd like to work 10 - 12 weeks of the year and before being licensed did at least 6 weeks a year in my own two churches but now that I have to be paid, they are using volunteers. So I write prayers, do readings, teach Sunday School, or do the children's story to keep me writing and presenting in front of the congregation. I also sing in the choir so that helps with practicing eye contact, enunciation and breathing. Anything to keep at it and even improve my delivery.

There are 100 preaching points in our area but there are 30 lay preachers so getting Sundays is tough if one's own congregation won't use you. Since licensing last spring, I've had only 2 weeks of work. On the bright side, the 6 weeks a year I used to preach are being filled with other volunteers so it is nice that other people stepped up and are leading.

Ooohhh... (((OKay & dLO))) What a day! So the surgery is Friday? Will be keeping you all in prayer. (((OKay's ddad -- and dmom, too!)))

Everything has been quite pleasant so far tonight. I hope dh doesn't go over there and start in on ddil again. I told ds, privately, when he brought dgs over, not to let dh make ddil mad again. DS said, "Oh -- she said she thought she made daddy mad!" Ddil is a pretty strong-willed girl, herself, you know? So maybe I won't have to worry too much about this -- maybe she can hold her own pretty well w/dh.
And they did make an appt w/a new pediatrician. DH even had his doubts about that last night. I just hope they like this new person. We certainly have heard lots of good things about her. My dmom has even met her and she made a great first impression on dmom! The other doctor, well, we knew NOTHING about her. Ddil just picked her blindly off the internet. Couldn't get her first choice, so she said to heck with it, I guess... Live and learn.

We're getting lots of political calls tonight. I will be glad when tomorrow is over. At least, I THINK/HOPE I will be glad. Local race is very tedious here too. Superintendent of education is on the ballot and I really don't want to offend or hurt the feelings of either candidate, so I don't really want to tell either one of them that I am or am not supporting them, for fear it will get back to the other one. I've told y'all, this is a REALLY small town. At least, whoever wins will only be my boss for about six more months!

DH & I went to Wmart, put away groceries.
Cleared the table after supper, but dishes still stacked in sink.
Talked to dmom & ddad on phone. More in J&C.
"Played" a little w/dgs... he is really fascinated w/his little fish rattle tonight.
Gave him his bottle.
Put him down for nap.

My house looks so much better with its floor scrubbed. My lands it was a mess!

I've been doing internet research on the few things I don't know how to vote tomorrow. I wanted a lot to do early voting, but never could figure these last couple out so I waited. I guess I got some answers but not sure. It's local stuff. I have to go early early in the AM because I am afraid of the lines and I have a church Deaconess meeting tomorrow night at 6:30, so I dare not go late to vote.

Oh, speaking of the meeting, I sat down and did my minutes from last month and I had so much trouble formatting. DD called about that time and we figured it out together.

Scattered, I don't know why you picked that name, you don't sound scattered to me at all!

Lilac, glad your DH is on his way again. Tell us again why he goes on these trips?

I not only got the meat put away and Bert & Ernie flipped but I also packed my lunch for tomorrow. I picked up some of the new G lad reusable/disposable containers that have a dressing cup which snaps into the lid, so I packed myself a steak salad along with sliced beef and a couple of pieces of bread so I can make a sandwich for dinner (there is a toaster at work and mayo and mustard).

All in all a great day! I got more accomplished today then I have in a long time and now I am just about ready for bed.
