Hooray! We finally have our internet/phone/cable back on!

Scattered, I agree completely -- I am also so thankful for this village full of wonderful women.

We lost power for six days but since we were warned the power could be out for 7-10 days we were prepared. We kept warm with a kerosene heater, stocked up on gas for the generator, & had plenty of food & water. It was also nice to be able to light the gas stovetop to cook some hot meals. Dfriend a few towns away let us shower at her house -- that was wonderful.

We were blessed to have been spared any damage. We only lost some tree limbs yet almost every other house in our neighborhood had big trees fall over. There were times during the storm I truly thought the roof would come off or a window implode. I have never experienced such strong winds before.

I hope everyone here is OK after the storm, too.

My best storm tip to everyone would be to buy a headlamp. I bought them at either H ome D epot or L owes last year, & it was so convenient to be able to read & to light my way around the whole house at night, hands free. Dh especially loved being able to tend to the generator without having to hold a flashlight.

Welcome back, Dove!

I'm working away slowly here.

Got the basement and main floor slipshod vacuumed and dusted.

Dd and dsil called to talk about Christmas. I had suggested coming earlier in December but that doesn't work since dsil has to be here on the 27th or 28th re: his potential new job. So the rough plan is they'll come in sometime late on Christmas Day and then we'll work our way on the 20th towards Southern Ontario so they can go on to Waterloo and we'll visit her godparents for New Years. Have sent an email regarding this to the godparents.

My senior friend is home from her holiday and we visited by phone for a bit. She has a long run of medical appointments coming up and so I'll take her to one next Friday to take the strain off her daughter-in-law.

Now I'm going to have lunch, do the kitchen chores and then have a rest. May mop the floor as well if I have a second wind after lunch.

I am soooooooooooo happy. My dsisil who is going thru chemo is having a good day. She has a dear friend who coming to stay for a few days. It just felt wonderful to hear her voice today.

YEAH!!! It's good to see Dove is back online and safe from the storm.

Medical appt's #7 and #8 of this week were done this morning. I'm not sure what I feel about endodontist visit. Neither my dentist or endodontist can give me a recommendation. they both gave me 3 options, but can't recommend any of them. Both of them told me they are not sure what they would do if they were in my shoes. I'm going to think about the options for a few days before making up my mind.

Lawyer called and gave news about meeting with new judge on Tuesday. Ours and LO lawyers were there, however their lawyer was a no show. the judge set hearing on guardianship for Dec 6th. We will appear before the judge at this one.

DH and I had lunch with some VDFriends. MUCH enjoyed.

I'm going to put toes up for a bit then get busy on SHE cards.

I'm on track got an Rx refill going before I was close to being out bc of the holidays coming and fighting this cold. They are done this is like in record time!

I have laundry going so I happy to see that h. had taken it to the basement already that helped!

I've swept the traffic areas, have buzzed the vacuum in the back of the house.

Time to flip flop laundry.
Had a dab of rice left in the box so I cooked it up for the chickens and added some cereal flakes of cereal no one here likes but they gobbled it down it's such a good feeling to give 'em some thing warm when it's cold out. Now the dryer vent is going so they can huddle by it!

Also that I showed dgd the joy of popping bubble wrap keeping her occupied for a while now!

I have loads of things to be thankful for. This village place. My free country. The fact that we're not bankrupt or homeless.

I've just been puttering around today. And sewing. Nothing strenuous. Need to fold up the load of clothes in the dryer.

Dove, It's great to have you back. Did you have anything from this 2nd storm?
OKay what is wrong with your teeth? I need to go also.

Got my one mile walk in.

Felt a bit more ambitious toward housework and cleaned out the fridge. I'm getting groceries tonight so that gave me incentive.

I'm very thankful for this village too and the wonderful caring ladies that come here.

Going to read a bit and then head off to work.

OKay: you'd think it would be a no-brainer - custody goes to those who care enough to show up.

I've done all the kitchen chores and the floor mopping. Am giving some consideration to moving the kitchen table. Ours is quite large (seats six without being opened up, can seat 8.) The area for the table is actually quite small so instead of putting the table there, we pulled it into the kitchen proper so it forms the fifth 'wall' of the kitchen. There are times that's great (it becomes handy to use as a work surface) but the people sitting at the table can be in the way of movement from room to room so that's a disadvantage. Plus, I'd like a change. So I'll keep giving it some thought.

Am considering walking to the general store since I didn't exercise this morning. Not sure if it is a good idea or not.

While eating, I heard a noise from the tooth and it immediately hurt. Both the dentist and endodontist say the crack noise and the symptoms since are classic signs of a cracked tooth......however after multiple xrays and test they can't find any crack. My options are...
** Put a crown on tooth. A crown would give it stability and may work if the crack is above the gum line. If I go with this option he recommends a gold crown in case he need to do a root canal in the future on this tooth. (porcelain crowns are more easily cracked when drilled). If the crack is below the gum line then this would be a waste of effort and money.
** root canal then crown. The nerves are definitely alive in the tooth. However, endodontist said this may be just spending a lot of money and still lose the tooth.
** pull the tooth. There are not any easy options to replace it. Not enough existing bone for an implant. Bone graft in sinus area would be needed.....then wait for a year or two for the bone to grow....then put in an implant.

I asked about learning to live with the pain and chew on the other side of my mouth. Although possible, he said the chances are high that the crack will grow and eventually lead to infection......which could go undetected for long period and have a very negative impact on my whole body.

Sheez....how to know which choice is right? If the educated and trained fellows (dentist & endodontist) didn't know what to recommend then there is no way that I know. I guess I should just flip a coin. I'm leaning toward a crown, but my head is full of LO court and surgery thoughts so I'm not going to make a decision right now.

Hi everyone! Once again, I stayed up too late crocheting and watching mindless videos. I did eat at church and attend Bible study, so not a total loss. I also got more yarn. Today I NEED to figure out how to reset my watch. Twice a year, I have to refigure it out and it is never a nice straight-forward process so I can write it down. Tonight, I have a meeting at church, so I will miss art class. I need to run a load of laundry. I am also going to try a trick mom sent me about unclogging shower heads. Before Wednesday, I need to get the animal org board meeting minutes out.

Okay: Sorry to hear about your tooth. Toothaches are absolutely no fun. Wish I had some sage advice for you.
