Finally Friday

I'm making progress one card at a time. It is days like today that make me super glad that my cards are broke down into small chunks/tasks. I keep moving forward in between priority care. DDad is having a very hard day - one of his worst ones. I'm torn between taking care of LO and keeping his germs away from DDad. I can hear the exhaustion in DMom's voice when talking to her on the phone. She always has a up beat attitude. I admire her strength and determination to love and care for DDad the very best she can.

I worked on new spreadsheet to give me the BIG picture of my food choices. I already had the spreadsheet set up to track food like Indiana taught me, but it didn't give me the long range information that I am seeking. Now I have the information by meal, day, and any long range combination I want (week, month, quarter, etc). The tools are ready....now its up to me to input the data. this time last year, I was at my goal weight......I intend to be there again. And stay there this time!

DH has finished fixing the closet shelf/rod. Now I want to rearrange the shelf and pull the things out from the floor before hanging the clothes back in there. May as well have a 'perfect' mess in here, then I'll feel really good when it's cleaned up!

Just relented and turned on the electric fireplace for a few. Just long enough to take the chill off in here. Thermometer says it's 65 but I'm freezing. Put my hand on dh's arm and he jumped and told me to turn on the heat for a bit. So closed our door and did that and I'm wrapped in a blanket.

Did up the dishes this morning, cleaned up the kitchen, cleaned the microwave and did a LOL for us. Just reminded me, I still have to get them out of the dryer. Love the names Scattered was giving all the appliances.

Need to call dchuch secretary and make sure she sees my email with the council minutes attached. Will do that now.

Dee: We turned the heat up one degree in the daytime and 2 in the early morning so we wake up to a warmer house. It disturbs my sleeping a bit (I tend to have a hot flash about 30 minutes after the heat comes on - coincidence?!) but it is nicer for getting out of bed (and the morning hours since the house holds its heat very well.)

As for the zone work left for months - it does make a difference because a month from now this work which is inside/outside window cleaning will be harder due to snow and below freezing temps. So I did that and decided to put off my upstairs weekly chores until tomorrow or maybe later today. I just spent 90 minutes on that but it meant 4 zone work check marks (outside window cleaning, clean upstairs windows, clean main floor windows, grease window latches.)

I'm taking a well deserved break now and will have my lunch. I need to run out and get salad for my dinner - dh is leaving at 2 to watch Skyfall with ds (who is getting off work an hour early today because he went in an hour early) and won't be home until 7 so I told him to stay in town and have dinner with ds. I don't mind having chicken fingers and sweet potato fries but I need a salad to go with that.

Good morning y'all..

For me its Finally on the mend Friday. I had to go back to the drs. and get a huge anti-biotic shot and then was given some kind of super power anti-bacteria drug. This seems like it has been a wasted month. However I took advantage of keeping up the house when I had good days so my house is in good shape. I haven't been able to walk Willis or go to the gym for 5 weeks cause I've been feeling so puny. I have a new pedometer and haven't even felt like calibrating it.

Today is library day for me. Dinner is already made and the laundry basket is empty. Now I need to work on my desk. More and more it has become my major hot spot. Its where Sweetie puts my mail, and I haven't been doing much to keep up except to pay bills.

Funny story to make y'all smile. Yesterday Sweetie was working under the car that he is building in his new garage and Willis decided to join him. Willis shimmied under the car next to Sweetie, rolled over on his back and proceeded to inspect what Sweetie was doing. Willis stayed like that until Sweetie decided if Willis couldn't hand him any tools then Willis was a bad assistant and shooed him away.

I have to start on digging out my desktop. Hugs to all in the village. Hope LO begins to feel better...poor guy I hate being sick and I feel for him...you too Okay.

I am home from moms group steering committee. I am having lunch -- and have checked emails. One email reminded me of a prayer meeting tomorrow a.m. in support of the team of medical missionaries from our church currently in language school in France. The last thing I want is another meeting in my schedule; I've already had about 13 hours of meetings this week, and it looks like friend A may be coming over tomorrow to hang out with us, which means some time to talk with her. She can be quite intense. Also, I need to prep to teach SS on Sunday, and I am feeling weary from all the things that have been going on, and I'm also looking at a lot of organizational work for moms group Thursday as we start to gear up for the end of the year. Can you hear me justifying skipping the meeting tomorrow? I believe this is a regular occurring meeting, so I can go to the next one. If I'm seen as a religious slacker, so what. I can't do everything.

I need to take info. to a nearby University, not the big one, for dd14 who will be attending a band clinic day there next weekend. She has also decided to audition for the honors band -- not sure whose it is or how that works, but she'll be at a great disadvantage as a freshman competing with upperclassmen. And she just got her audition music from her private teacher last week. . Still, I'm pleased she is willing to try. I just hope she will not be discouraged by bad results. Dd14 is worried that if I put the info. in the mail, she will lose a spot since this is done on a first-come, first-serve. However, since her private teacher is an oboe professor at the University and is running the oboe section of the clinic, I have the feeling she'll be OK. . . .

Later this afternoon, I'd like to get in a jog. Also, I may take dd14 to the sewing store across town to talk with a potential teacher for her around 4. Then, I'll be driving dd14 to and from the high school for the first synchronized swimming team practice. 2 hours for lap swims; I imagine she'll be exhausted afterward. But, she'll be with a friend, and that might help. Dd17 is going to a women's event at the church tonight and then to her small group's sleepover party.

I'm off to find the building where I need to take dd14's application.

MAYBE I'm feeling a teeny-tiny bit better -- forgot to take any Aleve this morning before I left the house. Still haven't had anything, but I feel like I need it now.

Finally Friday is here- at last! Yeah!

It's cold here, in the 30's outdoors, my small office is 65* and I'm freezing. Have sweatpants on, a long-sleeved tee with a hoodie over it and wrist/arm warmers. Will make this as quick as I can and then go back in by the fire.

I got up hitting my world running! I called the ins. person who was supposed to mail me claims. She said she was the wrong one, so gave me a # of another ins. person. I asked her while I had her on the phone, I'd talked to the ins. co. to get a book of my benefits and coverage, but they said for DH to get it at the plant, as they don't mail them anymore. Told the lady DH brought home an odd book about thrift and different ins. plans, it's the wrong book and where do I get one. She said, "OH! I'M THE ONE YOU WANT!" I was thrilled, she had our address and everything, so I'm getting a book now!

She gave me the # of another gal, I called her, explained the situation, about how I'm looking for claims forms. She said they should bill their office, but I explained this office doesn't do that, we paid the bill and I'm supposed to get a claims form, to fill out and send the info. She said they don't do that anymore, but I have to send a letter and the bill to their co. address. I thanked her, promptly wrote out my business letter, stapled the receipts and forms together and they're in the mail. I have copies of everything, so if they haven't paid us in 8 weeks, I'll re-bill them!

I just wanted to say that my oral pathologist phoned me with my biopsy report from the pallet sample taken. All it showed is that the spot was just "trauma". I must have bit on a sharp cracker or something, which causes this trauma red lesion to form and stick around for about 5 months. So, no oral cancer! I'm so happy! YOU are the first to know because DH is gone at Costco. I think I'll go call him on his cell.

Twins, I wanted to say how I feel sympathy for you. We moved into our old house in 1975, my Dson was 1 1/2 and our DD was 3 1/2. We raised our family there, lived our lives together there with good and bad and everything about "life" in between. In 2004, we moved out of the old house into a newly built one right in back of it. The old house has asbestos and it's slated for demolition, when we get the $, which will probably be when I'm on S. S. I don't mind looking at the old house, out the front windows of the newer house, because of such fond memories, but I'm afraid that when it is demolished, it's going to be so hard and break my heart because it's where I raised my babies. So my heart goes out to you.

Helia, The mom's group sounds so fun. It's great you're supporting medical missionaries, too. 13 hours of meetings in one week is a lot! Wow! You must be a youngster with lots of energy or be on good vitamins! I'd be so tired, but as I read on, you dod say you're feeling weary from all the things. I would be, too. (((Helia))) Try to park legal!

Nancy, You're doing great. Congrats about the team collage win, too.

Progress..

Done with desk and decluttering piles of stuff. Now am getting ready to order some of my Christmas gifts. The companies will mail direct and I love that. Remember I am into stress-free Christmas. Sweetie keeps asking me what I want for Christmas....and I told him I wanted to spend my Christmas on a far away beach. He told me he would take me to the desert across the road, make me close my eyes and pretend. He owes me a vacation from last year's promise and I told him Hawaii would be nice. He reminded me that I may be headed that way later on next year for a girlie week, and I told him I wouldn't mind going twice

YEAH for you Ivy !!!!!! I just check out books. I love to read, but couldn't do much of it while I was teaching..only in the summers. I hated that part of my career. When the end of school came around many of us at school were looking forward to cleaning our houses and reading. It was amazing, when asked what will you be doing this summer how many teachers would reply ...READING

I read some during the school year, but in the back of my mind I knew there was other work to do. After 25 years its funny how I have to keep reminding myself its OK to read for more than an hour at a time.
