A day of rest and peace Sunday

As our schedules always seem to be so rushed and the weekends are not often a time of rest or peace I thought I would send you a day to just be you. Breath in and enjoy the day!

where I lived 14 years ago, in the country, Sunday was a day that even the grocery store was closed. At first I baulked at it, (coming from the city), but then I saw it's purpose. We get so bogged down with what we have to do that we forget just to be! Have a really great day.

Ah, but dbw2, that's what I ended up doing yesterday! I finally declared a "personal holiday" for myself and gave myself permission to read a book and relax, and go to work today, and to skip the temple event last night. So today, my PODA is....
-normal routines to start week
-work several hours at payroll work on tax returns due this week
-brunch next door
-get two frozen turkeys to other synagogue for food bank turkey drive
-what else?

First round:
-figure out washer, appears that debris filter is clogged?
-walk the ddogs
-s2s
-make the bed
-put away a lol that goes upstairs

I awoke last night to d kitties chasing a mouse through the house... I rhymed!!! unfortunately this little kitties still don't grasp the concept of catch and get rid of, they played catch and release all night long (poor mouse - but at same time I don't want any mice) All our neighbors and many near the woods have been hit hard this year. we have not seen a lot of evidence and when we see any well they disappear fast

This morning I decided to make up a game - Surface Clutter Award - to the one who leaves out the most clutter - since thats a negative I decided to let it be my little game in my little mind guess who won - ME.

I just found out that I can upload docs from my PC to my Kindle. So I uploaded the Meds and Supplements lists that I often have to provide the Dr. Now I have it with me (as I rarely go anywhere without my K.)

I'm also expecting a call from hospital before DH's stress test on Wed - so now I'm not tied to computer when they call for the list.

We got cold last night so I turned on the furnace this morning. It still feels like it only blows cool air - but the thermometer is going up so I guess it is working.

TTFN - off to write up my blog for the week.

The washer debris filter took a long time. I ended up with two small blisters because I kept trying to turn the plug on the emergency drain and couldn't get it out; I couldn't tell whether it was threaded or not. At that point I walked the ddogs and tackled it when I got back. A pair of long nose pliers on the plug got it out. I ran the towels that were sopping wet in there through a spin cycle, and now are doing a light wash again with a vinegar rinse to get the rest of the suds out. After draining the excess water, I have a ton more cleaning rags and towels to wash!

I am going to take the turkeys to the synagogue now. If I should be at dneighbors in about two hours, it probably doesn't make sense to try to get to work for awhile now. Once the turkeys are delivered I'll do a few rounds here at home.....and plan on work later.

What about the clutter, blessed, that is a result of trying to take care of the others for whom you are responsible? Aha! If you were to go back and rethink ... ...how much of the clutter you previously assigned to yourself actually had to do with homemaking for everyone in the home, not just you? Then how much could you still assign personally?

Ouch, Twins Mom. But good job on the self-sufficient handywoman front.

Sigh. handywoman comes up as a red-underlined misspelling while handyman does not. The spell check doesn't have a clue who's handy.

Nancy, it's the crowds I dread. I suppose I don't really hate shopping so much, I just don't feel comfortable in the crowds.

Time to get dressed for church.
Emptynester, I'm so glad I thought to buy a new pair of navy tights, which will work well with a warmer dress. The sun is shining but it is brisk out there. Hope you get warmer.

Is anyone else having weird "no post specified" or 'forum doesn't exist' errors in their navigating around the village in the past 24 hours? (The internet at this hotel is spotty so it might be at my end but it has happened on both my phone and computer so I know it isn't my browser.)

I'm up but not at it. Looking at the time on my computer, it is almost 10 so I should be at least dressed by now. We still need to eat breakfast - no idea where to go or the hours for the place in the hotel. May end up going straight to lunch instead.

Decided to skip church today. Made that decision yesterday which meant today could be a lazy start.

Coughed a lot through the night but when I'm up and engaged (doing something physical) the amount of coughing is minimal. It is only when I sit down to relax (i.e. waiting for dinner at the restaurant, or sitting to read) that the coughing fits hit hard. Not sure how I'll control it at the memorial service. Hopefully, it will be short. I have mints, chewable vitamin C and zinc/c/echenacia tablets in my purse to suck on. And I'll dose myself up fully before going. The service is at 3 this afternoon.

Good Morning Ladies,

rubbing my eyes as I post this. I am TIRED!

Unpacked over 30 large boxes of jewelry items yesterday. Very time consuming. Getting ready at our store for the coming shopping season.

It's raining here, the house is dark. We had high winds yesterday, power kept going out. Dbrother was not happy as the TV kept going off. He asked me to fix the problem and I jokingly replied that I can't calm the wind, I'm not God.

Will spend some time coup to see what everyone did yesterday.

YES true true, lol, d Harriet!!! my clutter in the 3 season room is animal and laundry related, dining room was the recipes, kitchen sink full of dishes bc i and dd did not put our dishes in the dw - my no one else's dirty laundry in the closet (allll mine)

but the 3 season room yes now that is clutter!!!

I did declutter my brain a bit today: I went through the newspaper and found activities for Christmas... put it on a word document and recycled the paper
got rid of Christmas ideas list and put it on a document (for my eyes to see only )
put the recipes away except what I need for this week but put them away for me to grab.

next finishing my plan for the week.
