Blessed - I wish I could take the day off, unfortunately since this is my only day off I have too much to do. I wish the clutter were mine... then I would have a sense that I could decrease it, instead I have to beg until I'm blue in the face.

Sadie - Oh the wonderful Christmas shopping season is coming fast... sending energy your way.

Kathryn - Good luck with the cough and I turly hope you feel better soon.

Harriet - Have a great day at church and the blue tights sound wonderful.

Twins - you made me think of my garbage disposal which I desperately need to replace, the leak is so bad we have to have a basin under the sink.

MT - What kind of Kindle do you have?

Woke up with a headache again, think I need to rearrange my pillows. Having a slow start, but really need to get a move on it.

What do you all think of the name "Maxie" for the Fridge/Freezer, Maxie is the name of Chilly Willy's Polar Bear side kick.

Done breakfast. And lunch. And, I suppose, dinner if you just go by number of calories consumed! I decided to get my value out of the breakfast buffet since we have to pay for it (but it is a very reasonable price.)

Harmony Just to let you know, none of the cereals had HFCS in them, including Kellogg's low fat granola, Smart Start, Kashi (didn't expect it there), and 2 forms of Special K (did expect it there.) The Smart Start, which dh had, is a scary cereal. He commented that the label said it was an adult cereal so I asked if it was fortified with iron. Yes, 150% of the RDA. Yet the container was small enough that I could see a child easily have 2 - 3 of them a day for snacks.

We are going to try and walk off a bit of that food now since it is a lovely 61 degrees, sunny breaks and little wind. And there is a creek-side path to follow.

Kathryn - That sounds like the same variety of cereal we have at work, it must come as a pack. I love the Granola! Have a great walk.

I ended up doing more than what was on my list but it is needed. DS13 just got up, told him to get his cereal so he can help me, going to have him fold 1 of the LOLs.

Taking a break and then it back to finish cleaning the cupboards, I got them 1/2 done in that last round and cleaned the hood.

I understand d scattered. I no longer beg or nag any more... I just get a bag for each person and as I am going through a room I toss there stuff into their rooms - it gets draining but at least I am happier. Sometimes, not often any more, if they can't find it and may get a bit cranky if I put it in their space (I know it's there way to pass the blame on some one else because they are frustrated not me personally).

You do sooo much dscattered!!! look at all you accomplish on a daily basis... I wish I could say the same thing :D

hi kathyrn, mt, and sadie too!

heading over to d mil soon and a gift stop.

mexican dip and tortilla chips, salad with fixings and dressing are with dh already as he left earlier :D
dd younger is still making her pumpkin muffins with cream cheese and touch of cinnamon frosting done :D
dishes are piled and another full set in dw ready to wash but I don't have time, counters now clean. mixer clean :D
front room/living room is filled with things from front hall closet because of doors being put in. :P
t
take care all. have a great afternoon

Good afternoon. It is cold, windy and sunny here today.

Dgs8 has a basketball game at 2:30. I will either watch the 2 little girls here or at their house if they are napping, so that dd2 can go. Dgdalmost19mos just doesn't want to sit still and watch. No one can enjoy the game for wrestling her. Xsonil was so excited that dgs8 could play both rec and YMCA basketball this winter. Just because he can, doesn't mean he should. With 2 practices a week and one of them being Mondays, dd2 either has 2 nights a week or 1 night a week to mess with it. On top of that it is at 6:00. Xsonil is the coach so that accounts for it being so inconvenient for dd2.

Yesterday afternoon dh and I went down to the shop for gelato. They had a party going on in the party room and every table was full out in the main area. He was able to see what goes on when they are busy. After that we went to several stores to look at Christmas trees. Decided on one at HD, but didn't see any in stock. I will call this week and find out so I can order one if need be. Last year our pre-lit tree had a section that didn't light. Since our tree was just up a few days, due to our move, we just ignored it. The tree isn't that old, so I hate to get rid of it. We will put it in the basement this year. I have enough ornaments for both trees. Might as well use them. We will check each section before we put it together and maybe we can find the problem. Like I said last year we didn't have time to worry about it. I'm looking forward to everything but the gift buying this year. I have the money just not enough ideas. I am hoping to buy fewer gifts but bigger ones for the 4 youngest. Everyone else will probably get 1 gift and the rest in cash. The 3 older dgkids like that. Think the adults do too.

Our bedroom and dining room furniture are E than Allen. I have been watching a serving cart that I have always wanted, on ebay. I came up with the idea to buy it and put it in our room and put a TV on it. We haven't had a TV in our room in ages. Last winter dh was sick a lot and missed a lot work. So he was either in the basement in a recliner or upstairs in a recliner. He would have been more comfortable in bed if he could have watched TV. This morning I was measuring in our bedroom and dh came along and helped. We decided instead of buying the cart, that we could put the TV on his tall dresser. It would be easier to watch if it was there. So as we went into the dining room, I pointed out 2 empty places that I could put that cart. He commented that just because we have the space, doesn't mean we need to add more furniture. Can't argue with that.

Guess I better get some things done while I wait to see where I am watching the girls at.

Today H. fed the birds first thing for me. Let me sleep in for some extra rest and he cooked his own breakfast. Now I'm enjoying some tea after having cocoa coffee enjoying the new larger new coffee pot I got yesterday.

Trying to decide how and where to plant onion sets I got on sale yesterday! In the tomato pots for winter inside sounds like fun!

I will enjoy raking some leaves it's peaceful outside and not as cold now that the frost has melted. Not going to spread this around at church so taking it easy for a leisurely Sunday morning here is restful for me.

LO continues to get better, but not quite there yet. Was up again at 3:30am as he was hit by a wave of diarrhea and then sick to stomach. In the last 8 hours he has managed to hold all food and drinks down. Progress!

I sent 5 containers of food with DH for the church Thanksgiving meal. In the past, we have always had enough food left over to feed another 50+ people. However DH said today they ran out of food! The church had bought 5 hams, 5 turkeys and 3 briskets to go along with pot-luck dishes.......but it wasn't enough. DH said most people brought desserts today so there was an abundance of sweets left. I guess with any pot-luck there is always that chance that everyone will bring the same thing. :)

I spent a couple hours in the kitchen this morning arraigning items. My rule is - only items used everyday belong on the counter. Somehow items that are used weekly had worked their way into a spot on the counter. It felt crowded and cluttered looking. So - I enforced the rule and am enjoying seeing a much more spacious look as I walk into the kitchen. A side benefit of the arraigning was discovering some tools I haven't used recently and having new options. The bread maker is one of the unused tools/options. Fresh baked bread is in progress now!

We stopped on the way home from church to pick up things to put in the Christmas Child box. Crayons, coloring books, a mini tea set, some playing cards, puzzle and a stuffed teddy bear that says Now I Lay me down to Sleep.

I'm also searching the net for recipes and making grocery list for the next two weeks. We have two big pot lucks to go to - one next Sunday where I am bringing 10 cups of mashed sweet potatoes and one on Thanksgiving day where I am bringing cranberries and corn souffle.

I am also hostess on the Tday table. Each table of 10 has a hostess who coordinates the meal. Club furnishes turkey and gravy and everyone else brings dish. I am responsible for decor and plates. (Have them from last year).

Going to go work on grocery list. Have any of you had a mix for Chai Tea Latte? They make it at church and I just found the recipe. So those makings go the list. Also Russian tea made with Tang, tea and spices. Both are YUMM-O on cold days. Lots of sugar, however so I'm going to try it with Stevia or Spenda.

Blessed - I wish I could believe that... yet I always tend to think of myself as a sloth.

OKay - I am glad LO is on the mend, hopefully he will be over the hump soon.

MT - Please post the recipe for the Russian Tea? Go with Stevia rather than Splenda they are starting to link some nasty crap to Splenda. Mashed Sweet Potatoes sound really good, I might try that instead of regular Mashed Potatoes... or maybe in addition too.

I was just about to get up and get back to work when my BFF called, it was great to catch up with her. I have felt kinda cut off from her since our schedules don't match up anymore, of course I found out that she lurks here everyday and knows what is going on in my life... Yes I just called you out, Post already!!!
While we were on the phone DP/BFF called to figure out Thanksgiving plans. We will be going out the night before for Dinner at T opeka's (a steak place) to celebrate DS19's and my Birthday. DS19 was born 3 days after my 21st BDay. Then on Thanksgiving Dinner (Lunch) we will have at my place early since DP/BFF has to leave for work at 1:30pm. :D
