sunday - I finally washed the car.
today I have a list of things needing doing before I leave.
Dog to kennels. Overnight at a friends in Bris bane. then on to dd's by 9am. I'm hoping to be there at last 15' before then. So will probably leave around 7.30 to get into town and cross river diring peak hour.
I might need to transport someone from dd so vacuuming car is on the list.
A day of rest and peace Sunday

Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

Lynlee - Could you wash and vacuum my car too?
Be safe driving.
Dee - Please be careful with your BS!
Ivy - My BFF does have a great sense of humor, we "met" through a website (similar to this one) that I used to own/admin and when everyone got mad and mutinied (long story for MO... someday) she reached out via phone and supported me. We have been BFF's ever since (2007). We have only met IRL once but we constantly tease each other about moving closer (She lives outside Rochester).
Well, we emptied and moved everything off the Pantry shelves which are super large plastic Parsons Tables/Shelves Not sure what was spilled but the floor was disgusting. Mopped it and now have the worst spots soaking with S imple G reen. Need to get it done so I can eat and get to bed.

Re: A day of rest and peace Sunday
Getting ready for bed now.
Dinner was lovely. It was great to have extra time with the family.
After dinner, dh and I walked another 3/4 of a mile (each way) in order to get local ice cream. My total steps for the day is 16,579. Thus, I won't feel guilty about the ice cream!
Hopefully I won't be too sore tomorrow. My cough is still coming and going but in general is at bay. I had one bad spell during the funeral but managed to get by with only one or two coughs and the rest was struggling to strangle them until the peppermint took hold. Over dinner, I just drank lots and lots of water.
One neat thing about the reception after the funeral is they had takeout containers for people to take home leftover food. I was thrilled since these things have so much waste (and for something like a funeral, you never know how many you are planning for.) I'm going to file that idea away for the future. We have a container of cheese and crackers and another of veggies for our drive tomorrow.
Don't know how early we'll get off in the morning. There are a couple of shops in the area that I'd like to check out before leaving. We'd like to hit the border around lunch time and perhaps have fish & chips on the way home. I still haven't decided what to do about buying a food processor. The ones at Walmart are affordable but none have really great reviews. On the other hand, this is our chance to bring things across without charge since we've been out of the country for 2 days.

OKay - I am glad the cough is settling down. I love the idea of containers for leftovers, you could just purchase the disposable kind (have you seen G Lad's new ones that have the cup for salad dressing? It clicks into the top, I got some and they are fantastic!) Have you looked at any second hand stores? I know you are heading back but usually they have food processors that are in good as new condition for really cheap.
Nancy - sounds like a great afternoon.
We ran out of steam about half way through, so now I will have to come home tomorrow and finish the inventory rather than start on the next Zone. Managed to have enough curry leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Lunch is packed and ready to go. I also got my peer review done, so now I will finish watching "The Next Iron Chef" and then head to bed. Thankfully, I don't have to be to work until 8ish.

Re: A day of rest and peace Sunday
Thinking of ((those villagers not feeling so well.)) Kathryn's cough reminds me our pianist went into a muffled coughing fit during a prayer today and I was the closest woman to her who is not separated from her by the loft. I was completely unprepared and had not so much as a peppermint in my purse. Her daughter had to leave her seat on the other side of the church, cross in back, walk up past me to get to her mother and place some kind of wrapped candy/drop on the piano for her. Sigh. Now that's a fail.
I was also taking notes with dd's mechanical pencil. NOTE TO SELF - get with the pocketbook program and properly stock it with tissues, wrapped peppermints, more than one blue pen, a notepad, and other appropriate small items.
After church, dd and I went to WMart to finally deal with my unyielding worry over that wrapping paper they had (Thomas Kin kade benedictions), which I've been unable to find anywhere else and just KNEW would never be found again. I got the third-to-the-last and I'm going to be okay now.
Ahem. Did I need wrapping paper? That's totally beside the point.
A TaDa I neglected to mention from yesterday was that I had visited my colorist. This time, for the sake of disclosure to lucylee and others dealing with the surprise of gray hairs that have just got to be ahead of their time (smile), I tried Garn ier Herba shine and so far am pleased, had complements on my hair, especially from a lady working at WMart who actually asked me for hair advice.
Dd had found a pair of jeans to try on, so we found ourselves at the WMart fitting rooms where I waited outside with the very nice lady manning it. We talked about being the same age with many of the same complaints but she said the big difference she saw was that my hair looked thick and healthy and I was able to let it grow. She has many hair woes and I gave her my usual Evening Primrose Oil advice and also told her that after all, I still color my hair and she doesn't, which answers a lot of the differences. But she says she doesn't even think her hair could grow longer than earlobe length any more, much less allow curl or shine. I mentioned thyroid, but she is not aware of any hypothyroid tendencies. That would be my guess, though, as I listened.
I find that I can need to give my hair so much more attention these days. Today after yesterday's (probably high quality) conditioner from the coloring package, and putting into a scrunchie to curl overnight, my ends are pretty and healthy-looking, but give it time. They will do their imitation of broomsage grass soon.
I got photos back from my visit to my dear aunt of the daily aprons, and my hair looked like I was trying for a Halloween witch image. I remember that had been a spur-of-the-moment decision because my ddad felt so surprisingly well that day, and I think I just dragged a brush through and ran.
Lynlee, I hope your trip is safe and sound.
Dee, I hope you can get a handle on the BS readings.
Kathryn, your friend's ability to have some creativity in her life all along, though, was a blessing. It emphasizes to me Nancy and BookSaver's commitments to regular creativity and how healthy that aim is.
BookSaver, yes I always feel those seasonal aspects buoy me through the first part of winter, and then I can get through the second half by dreaming of spring. I used to start seeds indoors according to the calendar, 6, 8 or 10 weeks ahead of the last frost depending upon the type, and plan for them with the seed catalogs, so that I could feel I had a "toe" in spring already. That also works with baby chicks, but not for those of us with kittycats!
Still, I count January a favorite month because of the release from holiday stress while still having few outdoor chores and lots of imaginative planning for a new year.
