Re: Monday Magic
Ugh, last night I kept waking up about every hour or so until about 1:30, now my right hand is numb which, is due to all the scrubbing and then I must have slept on it wrong. I had a partial Bursectomy on my shoulder about a year and a half ago and need to build back up my scrubbing muscles. At the rate I'm going with my home I should be in good shape by the new year.
Have to go in today to do some admin work for the upcoming week (have 8 people starting orientation w/ me tomorrow) and work on my yearly re-orientation which is due by the end of the month. Plan on working 8-3 hopefully less, since I have a lot to get done today.
Need to go get ready and head out of here.
ToDo/TaDa
s2s
Coffee
Fill to-go cups & grab lunch
Work
finish pantry inventory
Sweep Kitchen Floor
Scrub Kitchen Floor
Mop Kitchen Floor
Dinner
Have a great day villagers.

Re: Monday Magic
Good morning, villagers ~
I wasn't even going to turn on the computer this morning, but remembered an Email that I promised to forward to a friend. Now I need to organize my thoughts, which is difficult without breakfast!
First goals for the day:
* make coffee for thermos
* pack breakfast for car
* at least 1 more cup of water
* hair & makeup & winter coat
* post office
* cash from ATM
* drive to The Big City for annual blood draw -- fasting blood sugar & thyroid
* clothing consignment store near blood lab
* try to remember where else I'm supposed to be this morning
I decided to take breakfast with me so I can eat immediately after the fasting blood draw, without having to resort to fast food. The only 2 restaurants I can think of that would be open for a healthy breakfast are several miles out of the way, and would take more time than I'm willing to give up this morning.
Just checked the weather forecast, and it will be "unusually cold with strong wind." That changes how many times I'll be willing to get out of the car.

Re: Monday Magic
Just lost a post due to the internet here. I keep getting errors "no post selected" on these boards but since you all aren't commenting on it, it must be the internet at the hotel. Which is almost beyond pathetic (Macy's, and Bed Bath Beyond, Google were among the websites that didn't exist last night.)
I'm up.
I'm s2s. I'm researching where to go for a food processor. The best one is also expensive and isn't available online in Canada (or I can't get to a website that will tell me that due to this lousy internet) and so I have to make a decision about buying it here and finding it out I could buy it locally for less. There are some 50% off sales that come close to the Walmart price on the low-range ones but otherwise they seem more expensive, in general, in Canada.

Re: Monday Magic
DH & DD left for school well over an hour to 1 1/2 hours ago. I have my day broken down into 1/2 hour slots and so far: I'm BEHIND! I'm s2s through breakfast & meds now. At least the bed is made.
Want to do some sprucing up in here today -have church council (here via Skype) at 8pm. Hopefully we have the bugs worked out now.
GD14 doesn't have school today (most schools are in session -know they have today off for Veterans Day up home). But DD has school. I've asked GD to go to lunch. After that we'll go to dd's school to pick up dh. He's working on the Christmas float with another gentleman today. Know he's hoping to get a lot done this week. Believe dd & gd are both off all next week for Thanksgiving break. They haven't been able to work on the float during that break because everything is shut down/locked up tight for that week (to save on $$ mostly). The Christmas parade is December 6th this year. Know dd has a meeting for that some night this week.
Better get on with my day -have several odds & ends to accomplish today and think I have them li**ed.

Re: Monday Magic
Good morning! I'm behind too. I did not get up early as planned b/c I was awake for an hour in the middle of the night. No particular reason -- I was just awake. . . I think the weekend happenings were on my mind. There was a small crisis this weekend when an older girl from church returned from a missions trip to Haiti and usurped dd17's Monday night tutoree child. Dd17 was extremely upset about this, countered the girl's original proposition that dd17 find a new child to tutor with the proposal of sharing, doing joint-tutoring sessions with the girl -- but capitulated in the end when this proposal was not accepted by the older girl. Dd17 does not have the emotional strength right now to fight it out. This girl is older than dd17 (graduated Sr. taking a gap year) and is the "star of the youth group" and a bit of a darling in the church, and dd17 also felt she couldn't really counter her b/c of her reputation. Dh is going to let things cool down and then call the other girls father to let him know what happened and how it came across here and to see if there is more to the story than we can currently understand. We need to talk to them b/c our view of this church "darling" is very much not very "darling"-like at the moment. This older girl is off to France in January, so she won't even be around consistently this year and won't be here at all next year when she goes off to college -- well, we hope. She has tutored this girl in the past and wants to continue that whenever she is around. Meanwhile, dd17 took the girl on this fall. And this all sounds off kilter; no one is thinking in terms of what is best for the child. . .. . .
I took dd14 in for bloodwork first thing this a.m. Have taken care of emails - dfriends staying here Wed. night, visiting my family over Tgiving (our family finally decided), book club organization, and a moms group email. Have navigated phone calls from dd17 and then dh re: a drawing dd17 needs for school but left at home. I think dh is going to take it to her when he goes to his office; the school is close to N. Campus (Engineering campus here).
OK, I'm off now to s2s and dig into Hebrew. I only have until 2:30 to work; then, I leave to pick up dd14 from school and take her to her dermat. appt.

Re: Monday Magic
Done breakfast. Overate again but we've decided we are skipping lunch today (I have veggies to eat while driving along.) We may or may not have fish and chips when we get back to the Seaway. Depends on timing.
I've done all the searching on food processors and have decided not to buy one. The best of the cheap ones is available at Walmart so I can always do a short border run and pick one up if I feel I need. Mainly I need it for shredding cabbage for coleslaw so I think I'll just either refuse to do that work for the church or find a source of pre-shredded cabbage. The only other thing I use it for is making breadcrumbs and my blender can do that too, just not as well.
I think I'll look over the attachments for my KitchenAid mixer and see if there are any that will improve my life. Adding onto that workhorse makes more sense than buying a cheap appliance. Besides, I'm supposed to be cutting down on our 'stuff' not adding to it.
I'm off now to check out a couple of stores that looked interesting from their windows. Then we'll head on the road.

Re: Monday Magic
Enjoy the rest of your morning there, Kathryn and a safe trip home!
Helia,
GD here is getting anxious for lunch. I'm going to do dishes and then we'll get ready to go. Has to be pretty boring here for her much of the time. Nothing to do outside and no friends nearby. She doesn't really have that many friends anyway. The one she does have sounds on again/off again much of the time. Think (hope) she'll be much happier as an adult.
Had a perm less than 3 weeks ago. The perm has been 'gone' for nearly 2 weeks. Just trying to decide what to do with my hair at the moment. Perhaps just get it trimmed for now and wait for a while to do another perm.
No idea if it's because I'm on a new med or what in the world is happening. Dfriend who does my hair will not like hearing this perm 'did not take'.
Have a meeting at church tomorrow (here) and our church council from up home via computer tonight. Wednesday we have Thanksgiving dinner at church. Thursday we have Thanksgiving 'lunch' at school with gd14 and Friday I promised the church secretary I'd come help do the Sunday bulletin. This will be a regular Friday morning occurrence. So this week has something every day too. No grass growing under our feet!
Off to do the kitchen>>>>>>>>>>>>
