Yay! Dishes done and kitchen 'sort of' reclaimed. GD is doing a fantastic job of cleaning the living room -to the point of vacuuming & trying to remove a couple of stains. I'd mentioned it would be nice if she cleaned up the living room a little (especially since any messes are hers) before we left, telling her I knew what a good job she does organizing! :D Taking her to lunch at O Garden about 40 minutes from now. She loves OG.

Our room is pretty neat now. At least good enough for skype view. :?

Need to call A T & T and have dh's costs for dh's individual texts taken off for the last two months -since we added unlimited text for him. He didn't have texting and it was cheaper to pay for the few he ever had per message. BUT then the fire department started digital text messages (as well as their pagers) to print out any calls. Partly so they can individually respond if they're on the way to a call. So, now that we're in FL he will continue to get those updates and know when DS-A is out and about. Perhaps it's not always good to know................ :|

Think I'll try to do something with my hair and get ready to go.

Thought of DLucyLee yesterday. DD brought me a thank-you note she received in July from the recipient of the scholarship (set up in DbabyZoe's memory). It was supposed to go to DS-A and DDIL#2 as a tangible symbol of this remembrance for Zoe. So have written them a note and am sending the note on to them. In dd's defense this did come after she came to NY and who knows where all the mail ended up -DSIL doesn't sort or look at it. (Sometimes with not very good results  ) The administration at school up home probably recorded dd's address as she set up the fund for us. DS had requested that anyone wishing to give funds, might give it instead for the forseeable future to the Memorial Garden instead. But we will continue the scholarship fund this coming year as there is nearly enough left in there for a second year. We're kind of hoping it will be given to DGD17 as she graduates this year. But only if she's going on to college and pursuing something to do with special needs children. Otherwise it'll be given to someone else.

Back from working in the park garden. Wasn't watching and when I bent over to pull a weed - I backed into a cactus. It is one with little thread like spines so I couldn't pull them out - had to come home and change. After we were done, I used duct tape to get them out. Could have been worse - one of my friends got tangled with a cholla.

Lots of dishes to do today and then I want to get some stuff transplanted. A friend would like some mesquite trees and I have 4 baby volunteers to dig for her. Then I picked up some desert iris this weekend so I would like to plant them.

Also sewing to do. I picked up some pillow forms to replace some that I made with just fiber fill. So that is on my radar. Lots to do - but no oomph.

Dee... :) @ the thank you note situation.
I haven't mentioned notes again to ds/ddil in over a week... just HOPING that the sight of those on the tv table means they ARE working on them. The pediatrician is settled, the christening date is settled, MAYBE the thank you notes will be settled before Christmas!
More (((BIG HUGS))) for your situation w/dgd... I just can't imagine the tension and stress y'all are under.

Dgs should be coming over around 2:00 and he will have to go to Wmart w/us today. DH is sorta dreading that, but I don't think it will be that big a deal.

Kinda aggravated that we have not heard from ds since Thursday night, and would not have heard from ddil, except I called her yesterday!
Offered to take dgs for a couple of hours, but she said no, they'd just stay in. SHE may be aggravated that we didn't call her earlier... she'd been on her own w/dgs since Friday morning when she came in from work... and I know after a long series of weekends w/ds gone, she is a little stir-crazy...
OTOH, they knew what they were signing up for when this all started, and after coming in around 2:00 a.m. Sunday, dh & I needed OUR rest, too!
So anyway... they never have a weekend, it seems, but they usually have M-F at home together during the day... so, that's not too bad a trade-off is it? They will be spending Thanksgiving week M-Sunday at her parents, so I'm sure she'll enjoy that. Actually, ds is coming back home Friday after Tgiving to go to the big ballgame w/dh, them returning to get her & dgs on Sunday.
Anyway, they have a pretty big "date night" planned tonight and will be driving to Nashville, so that's good.

Speaking of not talking to parents... I haven't talked to MINE since Thursday.
Must remedy THAT situation NOW.
BBL. ;)

Hello everybody! I haven't been around here much, it's been a busy couple of days, but I did cuop and talked to you all in my thoughts!

Kathryn, I did notice your note about the HFCS in cereal. I guess manufacturers are changing some things due to consumer pressure. My friend who said there were none without HFCS told me that a couple years ago. We specifically buy the one brand of rais in br an because it states no HFCS right on the front!

Saturday was the memorial service for DBiL, which went ok. Sunday was church and in between everything I kept on sewing. House is fairly neat. Lots of desk chores are in limbo due to the holiday, I will get to them later in prep for tomorrow when I will catch up.

Sunday afternoon we took a bike ride. Both of us are a bit rusty...no stiff...I should say. Boy, that was a chore! I'm very out of shape now.

Dinner's in the crockpot and I need to go add some things. Oh, I stopped at a store on the way home from church and got christmas present for 1 person done. Babysteps this year.

I'm feeling productive did the front and side yard leaves. The still need to be bagged up but got my hour of ex. in for now. Chicken run has been delt with chickens got out early so I could do that before granny duty they high tailed it for under the deck as it was raining just a bit.

Now I can think about some inside stuff but I'd rather not. I think I"m in denial about turkey day. Just trying to keep putting one foot in front of the other to get through this bout of cold / flu.

I've been doing a LOT of that lately, Harmony!

Dmom & dad are okay... but not great. Dmom suspects he will need platelets again today... seems like they do not "last" as long as they used to... and the prospect of what looms ahead is really nerve-wracking... but dmom said, like Scarlett, I can't think about all that NOW... I just have to get through one day at a time.

I must s2s now. This day is quickly slipping away from me!
Tomorrow is another day.

Waving hello to y'all
MT ... Thank you for the giggles. When I first moved here sweetie took a picture of me standing by a giant catus. I did the same thing and backed up right into it. I have also kneeled down on the ground while taking a close up picture of a catus flower and put my hand on some under sprouts while trying to steady myself. When I walk off road with my pups I try to remember to bring tweezers with me.

We are being lazy today watching movies on tv. By request I made Sweetie pancakes for lunch. Now I have to figure out something for dinner.

Dee...what a nice treat for your dgd. Nothing like a little girl time. Scattered...I hate headaches!!!! And I love hearing about your chickens Nancy...

Hello Ladies,

I know I've not been around since the last time I posted......Unfortunately some life situations have gotten in the way......I apologise for not being around.

That said, some news, is that I will possibly be becoming a grandmother in June next year. There is a matter of a paternity test to be done once the baby is born.

I've fallen off the wagon so to speak about my home.......what, I actually admitted it here  ........We are taking baby steps to get back on track at the moment.

I've not even followed any of the plans this year for christmas.

I think I am going to head off now and tomorrow some time to the focus area, reprint for me the zones that DIndiana did in there as I've had water leaks in the roof and some of my stuff got spoiled and so we threw it out.

Hopefully, with things calming down now, I can check in here more often (at least I hope so).
