Re: Wrought Wednesday
Thanks Kathrine...
My mom had photos in her safety deposit box as well. I started reading about what to do with her frozen documents. Because they were contaminated by unknowns in the water, the articles strongly recommend goggles, gloves and face masks when handing them. And since my mom isn't sure what is in the box, she is insisting that she try to examine them all.
I can help my mom get copies of all the important papers that I know were in there...will, deed, birth certificate, marriage certificate, and dad's death certificate, but she's afraid there is something of importance in there that she can't remember. While I was home at some point I suggested she make a list of everything that was in her safety deposit box, but I guess she didn't do it. And driving around the area and seeing all the destruction isn't helping her much either.
Off to the store...I have to go back to wally world, but I think I can just zip in and out.

Re: Wrought Wednesday
Good afternoon, everyone!
My surprise accomplishments for today are 2 lols completed and put away. Had a lovely time at the library. All my friends were there...in the books! Had to smile at seeing an Amish fellow come in wearing a bike helmet. No question that he was Amish with the haircut and beard down to middle of his chest. He promptly sat down to work at a computer.
Need to iron 2 shirts next. I quit ironing for about a year one time, so DH really appreciates any ironing that I do!
Cowinkie--It's hard to imagine safe deposit boxes underwater...what a mess.

Re: Wrought Wednesday
I am back from a couple of errands.
Got a pie for turkey dinner.
Christmas napkins & and lights for the wreath that do not flash!
Got coffee
Yea!
But it is only a 35 light string and a 50 light string would have been better! Sigh! Got light bulbs and replaced the ones in the dining room over the table that needed to be changed out.
check movies x none worth seeing this week here.
Next up I need to go check laundry and flip flop that.

Re: Wrought Wednesday
WTG to your dd, blessed!
sorry about the fit last night, Elizabeth. Maybe lunch tomorrow will be a good thing.
Sorry to hear about your mom's safety deposit box, Cowinkie.
((Lilac))
I'm not sure who is making what for our Tgiving meal. My Mom will not want to cook for the crowd, and we are coming in from out of town and staying in a hotel. My brother and I will coordinate a bit. I can bring some food cooked ahead of time in a cooler, but I can't bring the entire meal. There will be 9 of us.
Meeting up with ds was fun! It was just fun to be in a student food court. He seems to be doing well on all fronts. He has a test tonight, and he's figuring out what to take next semester,
Dfriend called, and they will not be eating with us after all. They will be arriving at our house around 9/9:30 tonight, so that gives me extra time to get everything set for them. I think the girls and I might just eat leftovers. I do have bread in the breadmaker too. . . . .
I have done odds and ends -- I've stripped the MBR bed, the bedding is washed, I've kept laundry going, have put away 2 lols so far. I've sent out an organizational moms group reminder email. I have wiped down the sill of the window above the kitchen sink, dusted a bit in the computer room, cleared several things of our hot spot island, wiped down the MW, wiped down the front of the dw and the fridge. . . . .
Next:
-switch laundry
-tidy and dust the MBR; I'm going to put friends in there and I will sleep in the twin bed in dd14's room -- dd14 sleeps in dd17's room which has a twin bed and a double? futon in it. It is a huge bedroom!
-dust/wipe down surfaces in the living room

Re: Wrought Wednesday
Helia just reminded me that I also changed bedsheets today...gotta give myself credit for that.
Need to get a small turkey breast for T-day. I have potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, and 2 pies. Also need cranberry sauce. Think I can skip the rolls with all those other carbs. This year will be simple...just 2 of us. Last year I cooked a 14-pound turkey. Happy to have a no-stress meal this year!

Re: Wrought Wednesday
dd is home now and I picked up a small decoration christmas present for older dd
time to work
dh has been crabby alllll day. I don't think he realizes it. He was upset that a bill quoted was 2000 more when the company asked for payment. Thank Goodness we had a copy of the statement. They under estimated the work and then made dh feel like our family is below the ability to pay more. So some of his day is explained

Re: Wrought Wednesday
I just sent Thanksgiving Plan #34 to Dson/DDIL. Our parameters keep changing so the plans do too. Plan #34 is to cook Thanksgiving meal at our home. As soon as I know there won't be a plan #35, I will buy groceries for TDay meal.
DH has come down with the stomach stuff that LO had.
He has spent the majority of the last 24 hours either in the bathroom or bundled up in bed.
I feel lousy but so far am keeping everything down.
