Finished with lunch. I'm going to prep the chicken for dinner tonight before heading out the door for haircut, groc. store, and honeybaked ham store.

Happy for your good news, OK!

Sounds like you've been busy, nancy.

Impressive - 2 miles in 2 hours, and all that garbage, MT. WTG to you and your friends! What a fun way to build community.

Back from the grocery store. They had one turkey breast , but I couldn't bring myself to pay the inflated price (more than I paid a few weeks ago). So we have an 11 pound turkey, which I hope will thaw before Thursday.

Just received a Thanksgiving card in the mail from DD. It's the same card that I sent her (which she should receive today)! As DH always says, "That nut didn't fall far from the tree!" She doesn't look like me, but we do think alike!

Okay--glad you found a new song! :)

MT--Can you believe the things people will throw out the car window? I am constantly cleaning up the road in front of our house. Sounds like fun to do the cleanup with a group like that.

Helia--2 headlights are a very good thing!

Nancy--WTG with the shredding. That's one of my favorite things to do.
How you do your work is a portrait of yourself.

Good Morning, Villagers! :D

I love Josh Groban's CD "Noel" album.

I love "O' Holy Night", because Dmom sang the solo at church, just after seeing HER dmom and step-dad in a minor car accident, which could have been worst. Dmom walked over in the field, where the sheriff was, an ambulance for step-grpa (pelvis) and Dmom asked Grandma, "Is there anything I can do?" Grandma said, "Oh, no. You go on ahead. You have a solo to do tonight!" (Grandma was unhurt.) We all went to church, I was a teenager and Dmom and I didn't get along, (like some teens don't) but when MY Dmom got up there, in front of the church, after just seeing her parents in an accident, and she sang it so beautifully, Dmom was MY HERO that night! I was impressed and proud that MY mom pulled it off and this is why "O' Holy Night" is so special to me.

Off subject, I had a comical situation occur to me when I went to the eye clinic. I'm a youngster, 60, compared to most of the other patients, who are in their 70's on up, I'd guess. I was sitting in the waiting room with several other patients. The nurse came out of the hall, opened the door and asked, "Dorian Gray? Is Dorian Gray here?" I looked at this little old man, his eyes twinkled back at mine, he and I grinned. We were both thinking of, "The Picture of Dorian Gray," by Oscar Wilde.  I guess you had to be there to get the full affect of the comedy in it. ;)

OKay, You have a LOT of CFO cards to do! You're going to be so busy! :!:

Glad your DMom called you. :D

Nancy, You've been so busy. :D

MT, WTG doing that Road Clean-up! I think people who do that should get a medal! Really! :!: It beautifies our roads. DH and I noticed, while traveling in Montana, how pristine the roads were. No little! 2 miles in 2 hours is so good!

Helia, I'm glad you have 2 headlights again. It sounds like your routine this morning is "different" compared to the usual. Oh, yes! :!:  Aggressive drivers are not good ones. :(

Booksaver, Trading Tuesday for you sounds like you'll be getting in a lot of movement and exercise. :D

Ellyphant, I hope you'll be able to find a turkey breast today! :D Good luck on that.

Blessed, I'll be praying for your eldest DD.

Kathryn, I hope your Dson gets well soon and it's great you found your credit card. People who sing for others have a kind soul. :D I think so anyway. It's a gift they share from their heart.

I was ill this morning, so don't feel 100%, and I'm stressing out about getting the house in order and Christmas gifts done. I know I'm being silly because DH cleans toilets, I've dumped the trash. All I need to do is:
- run the tablecloth through de-wrinkle, put it on the table, and put the place mats and my Thanksgiving angel back on the table.
- I need to clean mirrors, counters, and sinks in the bathroom.
- Need to sweep the utility room.
- Need to do some light dusting and dust mopping.
- Need to clean the kitchen counters under small counter appliances and the dish drainer pad.
- Dust inside the china cabinet, which is a short cut.

So why am I stressed about that, when today's Tues. a.m. and I have until bedtime, ALL day Wed. and Thurs. until 1 p.m.? DH says I put pressure on myself, he doesn't know why I do that and he says, "Cut it out!" :lol:I'm crocheting a gift for Dson, want to make DD another slouch hat, to give her on Thanksgiving, and then I'm super excited about :!: making a dfriend/a man a hat for Christmas and his wife, my BFF some facial scalloped edge wipes, a little basket to put them in with some face cloths. It will be such fun to give her something different for a change. :D

Now, I don't feel stressed about getting ready for Thanksgiving! Just by telling you, was cathartic and I feel so MUCH BETTER! :D I'll relax, do baby steps, and remember, "Progress- not Perfection!"

I get a worm hole sometimes, which is a tune we get into our heads that we cannot get rid of and right now, my tune in my head is "Off to work we go!" and I'm wondering if it was the elves' song from Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. :?: ;)

Have a Terrific Tunes Tuesday, Everyone! :D Thank you for making me feel so at home here. I love you ALL! :D

Kidney stones, round 2

This morning I have had body aches and some nausea. I showered, etc. and was ready for the day. I started having sharp pains on the left side, below my waist. Dd2 called and she was suppose to go eat lunch with the 2 little girls and her morning guy had texted and said he would be late. She wanted to know if I wanted to go have lunch with them or watch the shop. I said I would watch the shop. The pains continued. Before she got left, her helper came in. I headed home. Dd2 called dd1 and then she called me. She told me to call the urologists office to see if I could get in. I did and they want me there at 1:10. I am not suppose to eat or drink anything before I come. I have taken my bs and it is 127. I don't know if it will bottom out or go high with this pain, but I hope it goes up. I called dh because last week I didn't and he told me if it happened again, I better call. He is coming home to take me to the dr. With the bs situation, I am glad.

I had intended to go buy groceries and run errands today, so that I could mess with my baking tomorrow. Guess all plans are on hold.

Ever since that nurse nicked my sciatic nerve last week, I have just felt like my body is coming unhinged. Everything pops and cracks. I never noticed that before.

I need to go to the bathroom but if I do, then I won't have anything when they do a UA. Ughhh.

Quick check in from volunteering.

I spend the day super cleaning out the desk and supply cabinet. Tossed tons, found some things we can sell and moved the excess supplies over to the main supply cabinet for this office.

I wrote a letter for the in-charge minister to send back some stock to the distribution centre. She called them and we need a return authorization so when she gets that, we'll send stuff back. She also had me look through the accounting system for a few answers to her questions.

Each week when I come in, another item has been taken. This week it is a large old tv and a bookcase. So each week this place looks better and better. They put a little sitting area where the book stacks used to be and that nicely fills in the space.

I still have shelves of videos to organize (they belong to the next level up of Church governance but are 'my problem' for now while they decide if they want to get rid of them or not. I knicked one of their sets of shelves for the library so need to reorganize the shelves.

After that, there will be little for me to do unless I get involved with the last of the accounting stuff. I stepped back to let the former resource person do it (I figured it was easier than having her train me) but she's left things in such a mess I may offer my services.

Next off is for me to head out for some lunch. Then a bit of grocery shopping and then home for my nap. I'm started to feel tired now that I've stopped working full-out with the organizing.

Lilac, I'm so sorry that you're going through this right before Thanksgiving. It's painful and also, it's a shame the nurse nicked your sciatic nerve. Having sciatica his not fun at all, either! :( Oh, dear. When it rains it pours.

If you're unable to buy groceries and run errands, is there someone else who could do it? If you need to bake tomorrow, is there any way that you could take a short cut and buy pre-baked items? They have frozen dinner roll dough, they have frozen pies, and things.

DH is taking short-cuts with Thanksgiving this year, buying things pre-made, and has frozen dinner rolls to make, too.

Now, you need to go to the bathroom, they want a specimen for the UA and I struggle with that. An "on demand" sample is hard to do because a woman needs to relax before giving a sample. I've been there. If they'll let you drink while you're there, maybe that will help.

I'll be keeping you in my prayers, Lilac. You hang in there today.

My bs is dropping. I called dd1 and she said the reason they don't want me eating or drinking is because he'll probably do surgery. PLEASE pray for me. She told me to put honey under my tongue. I'll check in when I can.

Lilac, I feel so bad for you going through this, especially now. I am praying for you.

Super super busy around here. I'm so thankful I am feeling better. If I couldn't get this stuff done, knowing people are coming I would be so miserable.

I am so behind on everything around here that it is taking me excessive amounts of time to do even the littlest things. Yesterday I planned our menu for T'Day; and of course first I had to go through and file the piles of recipes stacked all over and around my recipe box in the china closet. Got that done and found the 2 recipes I needed and planned menu and grocery list.

Trip out was fairly successful but it took all afternoon way up to the middle of the evening. I have 3 birthdays that fall around this holiday, dsil is the day after, DGS was last week, other DGS is a couple weeks later, so I take care of all that too. I did find those gifts and while I was looking around for that I picked up whatever I saw for Christmas. Grocery shopping was a huge chore, with an overstuffed basket of everything imaginable. Brought that home and had to stop & clean out refrigerator...

I am behinder than behind. Had to clean off dresser, fold clothes, dust, just so I could get all christmas gifts into bags and stacked there... and of all things I had to organize the closet so I could get to air mattresses and put the rest of the christmas gifts there...and stacked the quilts I'm making up on a shelf.

You get the picture I guess. We're having 9 adults and 6 kids here, with 2 of the families coming Wed night, so that is snacks, breakfast, lunch, then food for one family all weekend (the kids are staying)...and it goes on and on...

Tomorrow I will be cooking, today is the cleaning......wish me luck I am getting a bit tired.... every eve. late I worked on the quilt and got it ready for binding so I could put the rack and rails away...

Whew!
Sunny I saw your light on here...what are you doing Thurs?
