Good morning! :)

After running around so much recently it feels so good to be home & know I don't have to be anywhere today. Dh has an appointment & is taking care of two errands for me since they are on his way. Last night I wrote up a list of five things that really must get done today, & ended up writing five things for each day this week. My dfriend is coming to stay for a week on Saturday, so there are things I'd like to have done before she gets here.

I've been focusing on Christmas a little more than Thanksgiving, including going to some craft shows at local churchs & schools. I always enjoy looking for unique items & it is fun to socialize with friends at the same time.

Next up: place a phone order for a gift for dh while he is out of the house, then bake pies for tomorrow.

Waving ~~~~~ to everyone. Have a wonderful day! :)

Today I'm wondering when the floor will dry so I can use the dryer again it's almost there.

{{{EN}}}

Have done the first round of morning stuff now for the next few things on my mind I"ll be glad to have those done. You can't really tell that I raked any leaves yesterday b/c of the wind & rain in the night. I'm thankful for the rain for the bulbs I planted last week that the leaves give me great exercise for my back and arms!

Thinking of ((((you & dh, MT)))).

I posted this on Monday in response to Cowinkie's story.
Loved the story of the 'found ring', Cowinkie. Still hope that my 'anniversary' necklace will be found. DH asked me the other day if I ever found it. I, too, never lose jewelry so this is confounding me. DH had it made for me with the birthstones of all our grandchildren & step grandchildren, so it ended up being several $100's $$$. I also have checked every pocket and anything it might have hung from. When the time is right I will also have the miracle of finding it.
Ta-Ta-Da! Ta-Ta-Da! I was looking for my Disney pass (have no idea where I might have placed that -it's not where I would think). So am listing the places I have looked so I don't go back there again. In the bottom right hand drawer of my desk I found the bag of dimes I was missing (I was sure I'd packed it to go north in the spring -we give all our dimes to the 'chaplain' at the WKA events for her orphanage in Africa). But with the sandwich bag of dimes was another small plastic bag. WooHoo!!!! There was that necklace and a couple of rings (one being an emerald & diamonds  ) I was missing. So, once again my anniversary necklace and I have become united.

Now dh wants to take the necklace in to put our newest grandchildren (dgbaby born in July & his sister, Zoe, who passed away April. 2011). He also wants to put the rest of our dstepgk's. Yikes that's a lot of stones! -well 5 more. I feel very elated that I found it -and there's my wondrous event for today and miracle from Monday!

Hello, friends!

Very noisy here...hunting season is upon us. Hearing gunshots that sound very close.

Made potato salad to have with Italian sausages for supper. That should be good before we begin eating turkey for days and days! :)

Wishing everyone safe travel and happy family gatherings!!

Hope Mr. MT's stress test is very unstressful.

Wasted the morning except for ordering one Christmas gift (plus a video for myself and a video to add to our Christmas collection) and picking up two books for my Senior Friend from the library. She tends to buy books but this Walk series is not worth buying - a quick read. Turns out this third book doesn't complete the series and the next book won't be released until next summer. Since she'll be left hanging, I picked up a Christmas book by the same author to add to her reading material. She reads these books in a day or two since she can't do much more (and is up a lot at night with physical, emotional and mental discomfort.)

Ah-ha! Found my Disney pass and Florida resident card!! Looked through my cabinet (which we lock while we're gone). Forgot all about this little over the body purse I bought last winter. Have all pertinent stuff for Disney in there. I know I need to write these things down as I forget from one trip to the next. Things such as clothes I leave here or in NY, knowing I don't need to take them. By the time I make a return trip I forget what's in the other place. :| I only have 1 more thing to find. I have a brown card wallet that I put all our FL cards in. I'm sure I brought it, but haven't come across that yet, either. :( ;) I will.

Did discover my Disney pass expires Dec. 26th so have to decide if I want to renew it. Have to look to see if there's any specials for short-term paDDsses coming up. Last year they had one for $99 for 3 days to any park at Disney. DH used all of those. Hoping there'll be another this year. With my pass, there's no parking fee (which was at $14 last spring).

DD and I have been looking at freezers. She really does need one. Thinking we could split the cost for a fair size.

Happy Birthing Day to you, Scattered, and Happy Birthday to your DS, too! They grow up so fast! :!:

MT Good luck to your DH on his stress test, too! (((((MT & your DH)))))

(((((Twins))))) I hope you'll get well soon. It's not a fun thing to have hit us. Maybe with rest you'll be able to recuperate today.

Dee, This is super news that you found your pass card and resident card, both! :D

Kathryn, You might think you wasted the morning, but you did productive things and how nice to get 2 books for your Senior Friend, too. :D

Elly, It's noisy here from gunshots, sometimes, too, on the bay where they go duck hunting. But right now, it's noisy from falling rain! It's black outdoors and is pouring rain in buckets, it seems like! :o Glad you made potato salad and are busy preparing, too! You have a save happy family gathering, too!

Waving to Nancy, Dove, Helia, Blessed, Harriet, Harmony, and others!

My PODA:
1- Make DD-40.5 an off-white slouch hat
2- Help DH clean house
3- Stay OUT of the Reece's Mini PB Cups!
4- To read

I'm behind in my reading. I have magazines to read for my work, for pleasure, paperback and hardback books and Nook Books. DH said last night, "Why don't you quit buying books and READ them!" I said, "I AM!" Oooooooh. He made me so angry! So I had one downloaded with 2,033 pages and I read it ALL last night! Yeah! :!: :D

Everyone, have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving! Enjoy preparing for it, too. :D

Making progress. It still feels slow. Dh should be home in about an hour and we hope to leave within an hour after he gets home.

Done:
-a.m. routine
-laundry
-bread bought at WF; thank goodness I could just walk over. The parking lot was packed.
-packing started
-dd14's dfriend driven home
-ds picked up

The kids are supposed to take Pepper to the dog-o-mat, but there is no movement that direction. :?

I'm going to fold the last lol, do the vacuuming I need to do, and finish washing up dishes used for cooking.

Talked to the secretary at temple earlier and she was able to explain to rabbi that I didn't feel like having a guest. We rescheduled for Friday a.m. and the secretary did give me a heads up as to what changes he wants in the contract. (Need a pulling-out-the-hair smilie here - I thought we agreed on all that last week?)

Also tried to call restaurant for reservation for tomorrow and they are booked up.

Ds and dd are skyping and they are jabbering away with each other - makes a mother's heart happy.

Heading for my nap now.

Dh and I walked to the store for the mail. It is a lovely, sunny, day, bordering on warm (50*F).

Dh: We shouldn't leave now (1:20) in case there's a parcel to pick up. We can go in 30 minutes and get there after the post office reopens.
Me: Are you expecting a parcel?
Dh: No.
Me: Me neither - I want to go now while I have energy.
<Walk to store>
Dh: Oh, look. A parcel pick up card!
<I glance at the clock in the store - 1:50, a 10 minute wait>
Me: Do you want a snack?
Dh: sure!

So we buy a snack and sit on the porch in the sun, enjoying the warmth and watching the village go by.

Turns out dh had ordered fresh license plates for the new car - his old ones were bent and rusting and he felt they looked awful on the new car. That was the parcel.
