Happy Thanksgiving, SHEville!

Normal day here but we have booked a trip to the Seaway to get the oil changed in the car. I wanted it done by 1500 miles so they booked me for December 13. We crossed 1500 on Nov 12 and knew we would but couldn't get an appointment for that day (we were driving by from Ithaca then.) I suspect oil changes will happen in the city from now on because I don't want to book weeks in advance for them. Possibly the same for other service although they did say for major appointments they'd drive up with a loaner and take my car back (it is a 45 minutes drive so that seems amazing to me.)

Dh has to work today mainly because the rest of the weekend is busy. So we are scaling back our Christmas shopping day. Hopefully we can do some major planning while driving and waiting for the car at the dealership. They have free wifi so we can do online searches for stuff while we wait.

Time to get off the treadmill and start my day. S2s, breakfast and then heavy housework.

Good Morning!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The house is quiet. Everyone is sleeping late. I have 2 large cookie sheets of biscuits raising. Each cookie sheet is a different kind of biscuit. One is a homemade sourdough biscuit recipe. The other is store bought frozen biscuit dough that comes in a bag. I'm looking forward to comparing them for taste & texture preference.

Good morning! Peeking in from central IL. It looks like a gorgeous day today, clear and sunny!

We left yesterday at 4:50, later than planned (4:00) but not awful. Pepper never got bathed. But she and Lily both got t heir anti-flea meds. We arrived here around 10:30 local time, CT. Dd17 conveniently forgot her license, so dh, myself, and ds shared the driving. That timing isn't bad considering we went to dfriends' home first to drop off Pepper, and we stopped by a Pan era to get some dinner at some point.

I'm not sure when the meal will be today. I'll make phone calls in a bit.

Dh and I decided to go for a jog/run this afternoon rather than first thing this a.m.

Dh is in the shower right now. I don't know what the kids are doing. I imagine some (dd17) are still asleep and some are morning people (ds) and likely awake. Dd14 could go either direction. . .

Happy Thanksgiving all US SHEs!!!

Good morning, villagers ~
Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm finishing some fruit juice with Emergen-C added because my throat and sinuses feel like the beginnings of a cold. I have a plain graham cracker. There's a cup of coffee left from yesterday so I'll drink that with some milk. That's going to be enough for breakfast, since we'll be having an early lunch at my sister's.

I will cut up fudge while I drink the coffee. Then I can s2s.

It should be a nice, easy day. The drive is only 45 minutes and the roads are clear. DSis is super organized and everyone is bringing something for the meal. We'll all do dishes together and play with the kids. The sky is supposed to be partly cloudy but dry, so the older kids can run around outside for awhile.

DSis has to be at work by 3:30 and we haven't been invited anywhere to DH's family, so DH will be very happy that we can come on home early.

I am thankful for this village. I hope all of you have a fun day, too.

Everybody is here mainly due to intervention from me. DS20's bedroom is off the kitchen and has no door, I put up with as much pop music (he sleeps with the radio on) when I finally told him to either turn it off or change it to Classic Rock (music we both enjoy), then I realized I was going to need his help to get the bird in the oven on time. DS13 woke-up about a half hour later due to loud color expletives emanating from the kitchen. I have told you all that I am a sailor right? They are going to have to run to W al-mart (if open) to get a butter dish, because I remembered that mine has disappeared... (DS13 has a vague memory of it breaking).

OKay - good luck with the biscuits, the only edible ones I can make come from the freezer section.

Helia - glad ya'll made it safe.

Kathryn - enjoy your "normal" day and oil change

Blessed - Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Books - feel better and safe trip

We never made reservations anywhere - both places I called were already full so I think we're eating pork barbeque at home today! We are invited out for dessert early this evening, and I think we'll also go to a movie this afternoon. In between I'll do some laundry and stuff around here. Dd has two invitations to eat Thanksgiving dinner with friends so she can go where she wants.

DD went to pick up a dfriend last night and we all had a good evening together. I felt like eating by then and my tummy seems normal today. DD and dfriend and I cooked dinner together and I think we all had a really nice evening. We sat on the back covered porch for awhile as the sun was going down - very enjoyable.

DDogs not walked yet and they are antsy. Dh says he'll go with us when he finishes looking through the advertisements.

I'm going to:
-get dressed
-clear kitchen counters
-reboot laundry
-make the bed

I'll see how far I can get on this list while dh finishes the paper.

Done with that round....dd talked to me while I made the bed and folded laundry. Dh and I walked a mile with the ddogs; they were trotting along feelin' good so it was a good walk for us all.

-reboot laundry
-15 minute clean up of DR table (someday I will have it cleared!)
-brush teeth, wash face, etc.
-15 minutes clean up of a stack of stuff I have on breakfast bar counter (We are drowning in paper!)
