What is your motivation today?

Mine is just trying to get through the week... that may sound gloomy but I have a long week in front of me. Work today & Tomorrow 12's, off Wednesday with a Dental appt, and then I am out of town for a 4 day conference.

Managed to also get my bills figured out on bill pay for the month before I went to bed last night. Now I need to get my coffee and lunch and head out the door.

My motivation is the calm(er) :D nearly-four-weeks ahead until I have another big social deal (firstinlaws' party). I want to use this time between holidays to get back to healthy habits and good scheduling/calendaring.

helia, I was just asking myself that same question (how to best use the accountability in H and F).
Dee used to keep a running post sometimes when she was working on one healthy habit, which she would edit daily.
But I'm working on several, so I will probably transcribe my daily records very briefly each evening, with thoughts.

Mystery, nice to see you!

Morning Daily Card of one hour is up for me so I'll be back at TOTH!
blessed's room-by-room isn't a bad idea for me today either!

I'm at work today - will work in office two days this week and then have another day of continuing education that is local instead of out of town. I have an appt with dermatologist tomorrow - follow up on the melanoma but I may also get him to take off a spot on my face. He has assured me many times that it is a blood vein that is closes to the skin, but it looks very dark and people do ask me about it as it looks almost like a big mole.

This is actually a pretty quiet week for me, which is nice.

I got to back my car out of the garage this morning - I bet there's not 3 inches on either side of the side mirrors but I was successful! :D

Slept very poorly last night as hips and back were aching and I was anxious about not getting my bulletin stuff ready yesterday. I'll be tired tonight, I'm sure.

Good Morning!

We arriving home yesterday from a wonderful weekend with DSon and family. They talked us into staying an extra day. It made the hours spent driving there/back a minor part of the weekend.

<skippable technology rambling>
I managed to fit in several hours of cool stuff this weekend. In the early morning hours....late at night.....and during nap time....when my arms were not full of DGD1 or DGS6 .....then I was playing with new technology. My head is full of ideas of useful ways to put it to work. From my view point, there seems to be multiple major players that do the same things that I use. Deciding to move among them take consideration of several factors (not the least being hardware) and ease of use. I've been a BIG google user for years and currently have an Android smartphone that I love..... but I have reached a wall where google can't (don't) support some of my needs. Microsoft can support my software needs but they have been lax on the hardware aspect. The latest Apple technology were also available this weekend to test, but it didn't make the cut in several categories that are important to me. Sooo....after eliminating two of the biggest contenders.........I've been testing Microsoft hardware to see if it can do everything I want. I'm impressed. I'm not ready to jump ship.....but I'm definitely being draw away from my long time google addiction. I'm also in process of testing the pro/cons of switching my primary daily go-to cloud storage from dropbox to skydrive.
</skippable>

We arrived home just in time for the MPB to have a major equipment failure. Along with the sewer in the house being completely plugged up (thanks to LO washrag) Welcome back to our life.

We are in waiiting mode right now.....
DH is waiting for MPB equipment manufacture place to open up so he can get some help troubleshoooting the equipment failure.
I am waiting for plumbers to show up at home. They are booked today, but said they would try to fit us in.

Good morning! a.m. routine is underway. I ordered myself a wool sweater online this a.m. since I need more wool -- it is the only thing that keeps me warm in the winter months, and one of my old ones is looking ratty enough I'm thinking of getting rid of it.

Did I miss Mystery?

I have a pretty normal week ahead of me, though there are some extra (but fun!) social gatherings happening. Tuesday night, I am hosting my book club meeting. Wednesday, I am having coffee with a dfriend (one of the moms group teachers, the church's children's director) in the morning, and then taking dfriend B out for her bday lunch! I'm going to stop by her house first to see her newly remodeled kitchen, about which she is very excited. Granite counters, new appliances. . . .I bet it is beautiful. :) And, I do need to drive dd14 somewhere every afternoon/evening this week -- band rehearsal tonight, synchro. practice W, F, and Sa (she has to skip tonight b/c of band), sewing/design lesson Thursday. Dh is out until Thursday afternoon. Hmm...... now that I'm writing this all down, I guess the week isn't that "normal" after all. LOL! No Dr. appts., though dd17 is due to have her bloodwork checked again (thyroid). There is no significant prep for moms group either.

Cmas is sort of approaching my radar. I don't do Cmas cards, really; I will send a handful out to some local friends. We do a New Year letter and New Year photo cards. That takes some of the pressure off of the Cmas busyness.

I have a small start on Cmas, have one gift so far for dmom, ddad, dbro, and dniece. I have ideas for dh and dd14. I'm clueless re: ds18, dd17, R, S, and other friends we buy for.

Today - first order of business is to finish the a.m. routine. Other goals: Hebrew translation, groc. store, exercise of some sort, progress on Steinbeck novel for book club tomorrow. Fortunately, I had translated so far ahead in Hebrew last week that I only have about 1/2 a chapter to do today.

BBL with some progress to report!

CI -
** Three different kinds of breakfasts made/served and kitchen is restored to MM.
** LO delivered to school.
** Visited with DMom on phone.
** Found and ordered DGD1 Christmas gift. HARD to find! Last year on one of his oversea trips, DSon got a stuffed animal at airport gift shop for DGD1. That is her sleep buddy. it is worn out. She won't have anything to do with other variations of it. I managed to find/order her a new one exactly like the one she has. I rarely need to order from overseas, but this was one of those exceptions.

Next up -
** update SHE cards
** process MPB daily gross bags
** Harvest/clean/prep vegetables for today

Good job finding the lovey rabbit, OKay.

Well, it's more like BOTH than TOTH. Because my ddad napped, I realized it was best for me to go ahead and add on my brunch after MDCard. I made myself an small omelet and watched a bit of tv. My fav Dick Van Dyke was on and I got most of it recorded. I want dd to see.

Play subject - my dmother was dead set against tickling, and my kids could play and tease all day at her house, even roughhouse to a point, but would get in trouble with her if they dared to tickle. She thought tickling was too close to a form of bullying, with the pretense of acceptability. She had had to break it up on school grounds too often.

Reading with interest OKay's technology thoughts. We have a Kindle Fire and dd32 talked at length with dd14 this visit about whether it's important to stick with devices that run the same apps. Dd14 really wants a tablet specifically for art, all of which are out of our price range anyway, probably. But she's considering a phone. Her friends at school are in contact with the parents picking up, for instance, and don't even walk out into the weather until they hear that the car is near the door! Dd32 says think carefully before buying a phone that doesn't run the same apps as the Kindle, but don't let the Kindle dictate years of buying, either.

Time for some of those room-by-room moves with blessed. Also Desk Day.

If HRH is back by the time of pick up at school, I'll keep traveling and take dd with me by the vitamin store. If not, I'll keep that errand on the back burner but try to get by there sometime later today. They sent a coupon for 15 percent off, which is enough to get my attention since we need several things.
