Re: Get into the Act Wednesday
Hi everybody!
Dh and I are home. I've done 8 loads of laundry today. Some of it is hung up. A lot of it is on the bed in the MBR. I have to be back at work tomorrow and I have stuff planned for Saturday and Sunday. But at least all 4 bags are unpacked and almost everything is away.
Other than the fact that Mike only had 4 pairs of underwear for 21 days, we didn't lose or forget anything else. I just had to wash underwear for him every 3 days. No big deal.
The fish that we had at the fish store getting "boarded" died, but we were expecting that.
None of the other fish died and both reef tanks are doing well.
It's nice to be home.

Yummmmm....
All these cookies sound so good
I opened my new xmas tree box and found it was made completely of plastic. OK, I can do artificial trees, but not plastic
So it was off to the stores again. Came home with one from Kmart and now I'm going to start putting it together.
Sunny...I have seen some good results with change of diet for ADHD, but it is really hard to control. Preservatives and dyes are in every thing...red seems to be a particular problem. I have had students who use Mountain Dew and other high caffeine drinks to help come them down and keep focused. There is an entire community who feels that this is the natural way to control ADHD. There are many studies that are trying to link the increase of autism to the increase of preservatives, pollutants and vaccinations. Personally if I had a ADHD child and was on meds, I'd also be watching out for excess sugar and such.
Your GD's complaints are valid. I had a very hyper boy once that I loved dearly...so did the school nurse. He had me for homeroom and even the other kids in the class could tell by his behavior whether he had taken his meds before school. I kept an eye out for that because without his meds, he got into so much trouble later on in the day .Every once in while he would slip by me...the kids always told on him cause they didn't want to see him get into trouble. I would track him down somewhere in the school and take him to the nurse. We'd have to call his mom to make sure he hadn't had it. He used to tell me that he hated the way the meds made him feel. When I would catch up to him after class I would say...Did you escape from jail today??? He would just grin at me and say...sometimes I just gotta do it. Talk about a kid who stole my heart

Re: Get into the Act Wednesday
Home again. First round out 10:45 - 1:45 was - friend B's home to admire her remodeled kitchen, downtown restaurant for her bday lunch, post office box b/c I missed the mail today, TJ for another pork chop and odds and ends, pet shop for g. pig supplies.
Second round 4:15 - 5:40 - take dd14 to specialty swim and ski store on the other side of town to buy some swim gear for synchr. swimming, drop her off at the high school for synchr. swim practice.
I got the pork chops and potatoes in the oven before I left for the above errands with dd14.
Dfriend A should be here in the next 15 minutes. . .I am tired, praying and hoping I get more energy. Dfriend A can be quite intense, esp. if we start talking about her issues. . . .
3rd round out to come: pick up dd14 at 7:40, gas the van. Maybe pick up supplies for moms group -- I'm not sure if that is needed or not.
Next:
-make a salad
-set the table

Good luck with finding what you need, Okay. I'm sure you will.
Got my hair cut and I love it! Don't know just what she did but (IMHO) it really looks cute. Hope I can mimic it!
Have to take gd to Youth Group in about 1/2 hour. Just warming baked potatoes for dinner. Not sure what I'll have with them. But whatever it is, I'd better go do it!

Re: Get into the Act Wednesday
Hello again, Villagers!
From my a.m. listed PODA I've enjoyed the rain when it came, have been crocheting on the stuffed cat, and walked 1/2 hour.
My Ta Da:
- put out hot spots
- got out the stuffed cat materials
- put dirty clothes in the laundry basket in the utility room
- Talked to DD on the phone
- Made our bed
- Did coffee, prayers, wrote in my journal
- Had breakfast, meds/supps
- Walked 30 min.
- Crocheted on the cat toy
- Put a garbage trash bag into the kitchen trash can
- Put a paper bag out for recycle in the walk-in pantry
- Set my dawn simulator
- Wrote my a.m. to do list
- Put a calendar on the wall, for 2013, underneath the 2012 one. The new calendar has the Bible books/verses to look up. The printing was too small to put it on a wall where the calendar is further away, so I put it on a wall, close to the doorway, so I can read it easier and do my Bible reading right there in the recliner of the bunny/craft room.
- I sorted the mail
- I got out some dark purple and dusky purple yarns for the other grson's stuffed dog.
- I ordered some long johns, top and bottom, because I'm cold!
Cowinkie, I hope you like your tree!
CathyS, You've done a lot of laundry! Wow!
But it's so nice to get it all done and away!
Twins' Mom, You've been productive and that idea of going to a massage school is good, too!
Hi Sadie! Yes, the holiday shopping can be stressful, too.
But it's so satisfying when it's done!
Scattered, I both, brush and floss before I go to get my teeth cleaned so it makes their job easier. I don't want them to have to work around fresh food in my teeth spaces.
You're productive, too!
OKay, Oh, poor LO! I hope the ice pack will make that swelling go down fast. Good luck on awaiting the countdown on his surgery, too.
Hello Sunny!
I'm glad you have a Kindle and love it, too! Can you make shelves on it or archive books on it, too?
I'm thinking about archiving several books I've read, to re-read later again. But this will need to wait for another day. I ate healthy today, but had a slice of key lime pie at lunch because I was hungry for something sweet and had just walked 1/2 hour and ate a healthy breakfast and lunch. This means no unhealthy snacking after dinner, too, now!
I didn't write letters, because I would love to finish dgrson's stuffed cat today, but it's 3:02 p.m. so that's doubtful, too.
But I did re-address a holiday card. I wrote DH's cousin's address down on a 3 x 5 card, trimmed it down and used packaging tape to tape it just below her name. This way, it let the design of trees and the cardinal on the envelope still show, too. 3 x 5's are a life-saver in many ways, aren't they?
I'd better get back to the cat toy since I just finished coffee cup #2, which is my last 1 for the day.
Have a great afternoon and evening, Everybody!
Waving to those I left out.

Hi everyone! Today's plan is to work on my resume and check my job search email. Anything else is a bonus.
ETA: To work on the resume, I will also need to put ink in the printer!

Re: Get into the Act Wednesday
CUOPing from yesterday only. Sorry, just can't keep up with life well right now.
Full moon - wow, it was gorgeous here this a.m. whether that was the full or the nearly. I just wish someone had been with me to share.
Elizabeth, do all you can to encourage church with dd, very cool.
lucylee, I have a friend like that who bewilders me. No reason at all to cut ties but they seem to have been cut and I am just not mobile these days - can't possibly visit, so if other means are out, then the friendship is out. I, too, am down to sending Christmas cards but no response.
Happy for Mr. Sunny and his good dr's report.
Amused to hear of burger-joint homeless fellow who won't eat that stuff. I suppose the fine dining restaurants won't let him stay.
Cowinkie, I've had "migraine" on the brain thinking of you I guess because I'm hearing the word everywhere. This early a.m. tv advertising show for the "NutriBullet" (magic bullet on steroids) had testimonials from long-term migraine sufferers who got some relief from greater nutrition from it since all the items are so pulverized they assimilate better. Still, as Harmony mentioned, that would still have to mean certain nutrient(s) were needed, and a shame not to pinpoint which ones. I just remember you suffering with these so long. Yuck. Re: medicating - my dmother who fought migraines until after both menopause and retirement used to say that pain is a cycle that can be broken. Stopping one part of the cycle results in more help than you would think. So I hope if a specialist sees that as an option for you, it will work well, and could send you into another one of those periods without the headaches for a while.
((Kathryn's ds))
Hurried all morning, fell into a nap, hurried all afternoon/evening.
One notable TaDa -
Returned package through UPS place. 4 of 6 catalog clothing items for me had to be returned, so that's not very good odds, since last order was all returned. Did keep one reasonable pair of nice jeans and a pack of socks! At this rate, I'll clothe myself by this time next year. Did LEARN, however, in all this, how to buy a correct pair of jeans for myself online, which is valuable. Did REASSESS a few items already owned and pinned on notes about mending, hemming, altering that could get them back into wardrobe.
In the morning, the Kidney Foundation truck comes, so reassessing has probably put more in their bag as well.
