Good Morning!

I had a good night sleep. I don't think I moved a muscle for 8 solid hours. Bring on the day!

I called 2 doctor offices yesterday and arraigned for paperwork to be ready to be picked up today. One paper is my lab results from last week blood test. One paper is prescription to be filled for LO antibodies. These are only good for 14 days so the prescription I had filled before his last scheduled surgery is out of date. .

I'll pull LO out of school at 10:00. That is the time he goes to recess which is then followed by lunch. I should be able to get doctor/nurse eyes on his owie and have him back at school before he misses too much class time.

I don't know the status of MPB or what time DH stopped working on it during the night. I was asleep when DH arrived home. I do know a 2 man crew will be onsite today to pump the pits. They are fairly self sufficient and accomplishes their job without too much interaction. They will be coming in/out our driveway to dump the mud into our pasture so the gate has to stay unlocked. Just need to monitor the livestock to make sure they don't get frisky and get themselves in trouble.

I'm hoping to fit in helping at the clothes closet this afternoon for a few hours. I enjoy this ministry and always come away with a good feeling of helping others.

Good morning!

Some of my day:
-8:45 - 12:15-ish, set up, Moms group, clean up
-4 - 5, Dd14's sewing/designing lesson?
- 6:30/7 - ? Thursday dinner crew here. Well, I only know A is coming; not sure about R. I know S can't make it.

Tonight is the 3rd night in a row having people over to our house. We also have something social to go to Friday and Saturday nights, then S and R usually eat at our house Sundays. Next possible evening w/ no social event: Monday. Last evening with no scheduled social activity: last Monday, which I spent driving dd14 to and from band rehearsal and going to the groc. store. This isn't even holiday related. :?

Actually, my schedule will be more open in Dec.; last moms group is this morning (party next Th. night) and last Heb class is next Monday. . .

Dh should be home this afternoon.

I really must exercise today! It takes an hour+ with drive time and stretching, but I have about 3 hours this afternoon (once I subtract driving time), so that should "work out." Sorry -- it just came out that way. I have less time-consuming alternatives which I need to explore. . . .I just know jogging gives me a great work out, and I enjoy it to some extent.

I need to leave early to gas the van this morning, so I'd better get moving!

Not sure about how much "fun" I am going to have today although most people who know me say that I usually make everything fun. I prefer to find the funny in everything. I was so busy yesterday that I did not have time to truly post about all that happened, and a lot happened.

At the dentist I found out that I need about $3000 - $5000 worth of work done. I need an upper partial, not because of gum disease but due to caries. My Mother was on tetracycline throughout her pregnancy with me, which as many of you probably know causes the child's teeth to be badly discolored and weakened. Due to the ugly green color while I was a teenager I didn't bother to brush them. By the time DS20 was born I had only rotten spikes for front teeth. I could not afford Dental work at that time and did not have insurance. I ended up finding a Dentist who was willing to take payments and rebuild my teeth with porcelain fillings. He said when he did them that they would only last 5 - 10 years. Well, they've lasted almost 20 yrs! My current dentist understands my financial situation and is willing to "patch and pray." As I was discussing this with Mother last night (it was her BDay) I realized that the two Dentist are actually very similar. Both run a small practice and their wife is the office manager/assistant, This wasn't weird in small town Alaska, but I now live in a large suburban area. Live and God is good.

I have four scheduled trips to the Airport today with the last one being at 10:30 pm, and then will have to be up early to be at the conference by 7:30 am. The one bad thing about the military is the early hours. I still need to pack and as I remembered at 1:00 this morning I forgot to go by the military surplus store to pick up a pair of dress shoes. Thankfully, I did print off my orders and finish my homework. I need to fluff the last lol and fold/hang them then I can pack.

ToDo/TaDa
 coffee
d2s (in uniform)
pack
gather all paperwork
Get DS20 to fill fluids
post homework
check email one last time
print off shuttle schedule
Have DS20 get kerosene for house and top off gas in van
Leave NLT 1100

Good morning all!

Skipping the treadmill today because it is my heavy housework day and I don't want to be too sore, especially after Tuesday when I was in agony for a while (rated my pain at 3 - 4 which is very unusual for me.)

DING! DING! DING!

Scattered mentioned last night aspartame causing her headaches (migraines) and bells went off in my head. Apologies to Harriet if she's mentioned this before but today my mind was in a spot to recognize the connection.

Since I was sick in the summer, I've been off aspartame and all other artificial sweeteners except stevia in very small amounts - the occasional Crystal Lite Pure and Tropicana 50. Btw I can taste stevia in things now and don't like it if it is the sole sweetener in something, but can tolerate it if it is used with sugar to reduce but not eliminate calories.

ANYWAY.... I've had way fewer headaches since I got through the withdrawal headaches. I think only 2 or 3 since I've been basically well, as opposed to at least 2 - 3 a month before. I wonder if there is a connection? This past TOM arrived without any headache. I know the one before did as well, although the one before that had a headache connected with it.

My headaches weren't migraines and, with ibuprofen only slowed me down slightly, but it is interesting they are so seldom now that aspartame is banished from my diet.

BTW: I accosted someone behind me in the lineup at Walmart who had diet Dr. Pepper in her cart and got her phone number. I'll be dropping off the 2.5 cases I have left from before I was sick at her place in the next week. I'm no longer tempted by the sight of the cases but it seems a shame to waste them so I've been looking for someone to give them to. I gave my senior friend all my diet coke and gingerale back in September but she doesn't like Dr. Pepper.

Kathryn - My past BFF had a very similar experience when she got away from aspartame which was very hard for her since she had a gastric bypass and could not do sugar. She switched to Splenda since Stevia was not as available before she died.

DS20 and I went out together to re-check and fill fluids, ended up that the Van actually didn't really need any. We checked the sedan since we were there and are very glad that we did, the oil was bone dry!!!   :o  Put in the quart I had bought last night and I will give him money to get more when he goes to the dentist today.

Got the lol folded/hung except the socks... will have to match when I get home Sunday. I have printed everything I need except the shuttle plan... waiting until last minute. Partially dressed (no combat boots or top blouse), need to put on a tad of make-up. Need to call dentist, check traffic report, and pack.

Sending DS20 out to check kerosene level now as he wants to get it later. Next up for me is to pack.

If there is fun in decluttering (and there is certainly fun in freeing up the space) then I had fun this morning. It's charity pickup day and I worked on my closet through the morning in advance of that to get ready. Reported in Decluttered Home forum.

Kathryn, we have all been suggesting so many things to try to help. We must love Cowinkie! :) But no, I believe artificial sweeteners were mentioned by scattered and Lynlee. Great results for you on giving up aspartame.

Btw I can taste stevia in things now and don't like it if it is the sole sweetener in something, but can tolerate it if it is used with sugar to reduce but not eliminate calories.

The lady at our local healthy foods place said something similar, Kathryn, and says she has discovered agave nectar works beautifully in tandem with stevia and lets her still skip the sugar. (She explained why agave nectar is better than sugar - I would say I see that it's true but it is not THAT much better. Worth research.) She says agave nectar has no aftertaste to her.

(Mr. OKay} (LO) Wow, I hope you can keep up the pace, OKay!

helia, what a busy household! You're amazing. If mine was still that busy (and probably never was, even with 2 near-age children, a part-time job for me and extensive church work) it wouldn't work for us now, because my ddad couldn't take that much input/activity. Enjoy the workout!

Harriet: I figured you might have mentioned something about that years ago, not in the recent conversations.

Booked ds' car into the local garage, he's dressed and ready for his doctor's appointment and I've printed off half the newsletters. Will start the second half and then head off. Dh will load ds' car with the tires while we are gone and he and I will drop the car off when I get back.

Making progress!

Finalized & printed LO status report for the judge and had DH proof it. Got it sent off to lawyer in digital & analog format.

Talked to 2 nurses at LO doctor office about his owie near surgery site. They think it will be okay. **PHEW** 22 hours until his surgery. Hopefully he can stay owie free and healthy so this can happen.

DDIL just txt that she ordered the Hello Kitty cake for DGD1 birthday party. DDIL is having the birthday party at our home so the Great Grandparents can attend. That reminded me that I had to throw away the birthday table cloth after the last birthday party and haven't replaced it. So I just jumped online and ordered a cheapie table birthday cloth for a one-time use at DGD1 upcoming party. I would like to find another birthday party table cloth like the one I used for years. Hum.....I inherited that table cloth from DMom who had used it for all of our parties when we were growing up. It had to be over 50 years old, so I suspect my chances of finding another one like it are slim.
