That's my wish for Saturday for the village - a life well lived, whether that is working around the house, a family fun day or a day of rest for Shabbat or a mix of all those things.

I've been up since early. I have been watching something on ebay all week - a very quirky purchase that will surely make dh believe I'm bat-stuff crazy, LOL. Anyway, I was up early and won the auction - a tobacco basket that is from the area where my ddad's ancestors lived about 150 years ago. Forty inches by forty inches, will go on one of our walls up high.

They called me that my car was ready about the time that dh walked in, so I am picking my car up this morning before noon. We had Shabbat dinner last night - pan fried small steaks, baked sweet potato, salad and challah.

Today I need to get my car, and dh wants to go to a local festival this afternoon. Tonight he's watching FL State football with the local booster club, and I get an evening in. Tomorrow afternoon late is the big temple meeting....still need to do some prep for that.

I do need to "get on with it", Twins. Have a very long l**t of things for today. I'm sure not all of them will get done.

I was feeling badly because I've been so remiss in checking our "Special Dates Calendar". However there were only 2 for November, so I'm feeling a little better. This does remind me to ask if there are any of you who have not shared your special dates with us. If you'd like those added to our calendar, please simply jot me a PM and I'd be more than glad to add them.

DH and DD have left for school to work on the Christmas float. I'm sure everyone will be very glad for this parade (Thursday) to be done. So much time is devoted to this project from the time we get here every fall. They can't go on school property at all during the 9 days off for Thanksgiving recess, so they eliminates over a week right off.

I'm trying to figure out how to scan pictures to a particular file. Have a box dsisil gave me to copy for our dks.

Time to get at that PODA. Spent a good deal of time formulating a PODA for December this morning. Just don't want to 'forget' anything. Like that could happen.

good morning d dee! Good morning d twins and all that come

today is Separating and putting away Saturday for me as I work on the things taken out of cabinets for the sanding of the floors. Thanks for the help all. I think I was looking at my papers etc. as a forest instead of separating into trees. (in other words thinking too broad rather than breaking what I needed to do into bits)

I will keep one drawer with one set lined papers, a stapler, etc. and the extras in a see through box in the basement or hall closet for easy refilling.
dh well dh will find his way but I am going to insist more that the clutter goes away and doesn't build - same with dd younger and her music. It's not working (keeping everything out) so we need a new plan other wise the clutter grows and not just a little.

it is very hard for dh and dd younger to let go of things which I understand being a SHE but I want the things put away and not out all the time. Dh has been upset by this even though I am not expecting anything tossed; I just don't want the papers out all the time. He wants to see them but gets upset if someone accidentally grabs a paper with homework or it gets misplaced. I have taken all the serving dishes for parties out the dining room hutch and will leave them in my closet until we have a party so I can put away his stuff in there instead. He gets to keep his stuff near by and I get some of the clutter off the dining room table (crabby session done )

I am dressed and going to go after my car right now. When I get back, I'll walk ddogs - will be a little warmer by then, too. They are almost apoplectic right now that I don't have walking shoes on. (DH keeps reminding me, YOU are the human, You are in charge. )

Just remembered that I also have an a.m. meeting tomorrow and need to do some prep for that...

I'm up. Woke up at 6:30 and lazed in bed until 8. Bed is made and my treadmill time is almost over.

It was nice to wake up knowing I got so many tiny chores done last night.

Today is heavy housekeeping since I've avoided it two days in a row. The upstairs is done so it is just the main floor dusting and vacuuming, mopping floors and vacuuming and dusting the basement. Maybe 2.5 hours of work in total. If I can get that all done, I'll reward myself with 2 or more episodes of Downton Abbey.

Good Morning!!

I got up twice during the night to check on LO and give him pain med. He slept soundly and woke up this morning with a big smile & full of energy. I have nothing but PRAISE for the past 24 hours.

This morning I will be baking a big pan of baked beans and a large batch of oatmeal/raisin cookies to deliver to church by 11am for a funeral lunch for local family. I don't plan on staying to help unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. LO care and funeral support aren't the best combinations.

Good morning! It is gray here today.

I woke up very late and got up even later. I didn't get to bed until midnight last night; dh and I went for coffee after his talk and so didn't get home until 11:30. Our town is having midnight madness with the downtown shops open until midnight weekend (or just Fridays?) nights until Cmas so downtown was crazy packed. Also, there was special entertainment (a St. Nicholas parade for the children) and food, apparently, earlier in the evening. We have a thriving vibrant downtown w/ art stores, specialty stores, restaurants -- downtown is one thing we love about our little city.

Um, there's a lot I'd like to get done today. Getting up late was not helpful. Neither is the fact that ds would like us to see his class group's project presentation. the projects are on display at 11:30 and the presentations start at 12:30?? Ds' group is the last one. . .. . Not sure we can stay to see it since I need to pick up dd14 from synch. swim at 1:40 and dh is meeting a friend at 2. We will see.

Next: I'm going to run out to get the maple syrup I didn't get yesterday (traffic was awful at that point) and try to put a couple items in the mail.

I am needing to take a break between the chaos - dh has put all of his papers in our bedroom while the floors get sanded as he doesn't want his library to look bad. Just trying to roll with it.

decided I need to have a separate area for my papers but not sure where I want it as the basement even though carpeted doesn't have sunshine which I love

OKay actually, to my mind, LO and funeral prep do go hand in hand. Often to have such a little bundle of joy around during a sombre time is just the tonic people need.

I've got half the dusting done. That's it. Really nothing to show for the past hour but, honestly, I did work steadily.

Oh, I did program the timer and hook up the outside lights to it. So we'll finally have Christmas lights and not be the only dark house on the block.
