TIMELINE TUESDAY

Do you have a timeline for the holidays? Think I'm doing a great job of ignoring mine. Must get at it though. Today will be focusing on church council minutes -if I can find a few hours to be here. Was gone all day yesterday, due to dh's timeline. We took gd to school, went to dbil/dsil's till it was time for us to go load the car at the Sr. Orphans center. We all went to lunch and then to the Lake Mirror center in town and unloaded. By then it was nearly time to go get gd again. Came home and took a snooze. Meantime gd kept asking for phone to call her Mom (dd). Then she and her dad evidently 'got into it'. Sure she was asking to go to a friend's from school. Her school is madeup from kids from a very, very wide area -so that's never easy.

Time to grab a bite of breakfast. Sugar was up this morning -stress I do believe!

Here's hoping dh has no place he wants/needs to be this morning.

Am spending this morning planning Dec. 30th. It is dh's birthday, I'm preaching, and dd and dsil need to move on to Toronto. I think ds is working that day too. Oh, and the church I'll be working for emailed this morning asking if dh can do their music that day. This is complicated but will work and I'm thrilled because I can now do whatever I want with the music (including allowing dh to use the tambourine during the reading of the scripture - something he learned last weekend at the workshop.)

Today is up in the air as I think ds needs a doctor appointment. I'll be phoning to book something in a couple of minutes.

Kathryn - I hope DS is feeling better, and I am sure you will still find a way to make DH's Birthday special.

As far as timeline, I am way behind mine. I wanted to put up Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving and it still isn't up. Hopefully we can get it up today.

I have a ton of admin stuff to get done, and mainly it is computer stuff. I am going to try and get going on it now and see if I can get it done by early this afternoon. I also have to go to the college to do my final which is really no big deal.

Total side note here; I have been watching the news about Kate & William and I just love the way that the Brits say "In Hospital" rather than us here in the states saying "In the Hospital."

Up early and have last night's dishes done. Have supplies ready for French Toast.

Don't know if friends are up yet or not - probably having breakfast in their rig.

Will probably go for a walk soon, so I'd better jump in the shower.

Ds will be seen by my doctor (same practice) at 10:40 so I canceled my volunteering in the city for the day. There's a grocery store next to doctor's office and I'll pick up ice cream for him.

He doesn't like any hot drinks, smoothies, or honey so traditional sore throat relief options are few. I tried warmed gingerale, something my mom gave me when I was little, but he didn't like the taste. I'm hoping we'll get a script for codeine and that she'll check for strep. He has white things hanging off his tonsils so even inexperienced me could tell his throat must be killing him.

He's had an orange (!) and a croissant for breakfast. So swallowing isn't as bad as it is for some people. I've also given him a hint for ways to reduce his swallowing of pit, aside from drooling or spitting into a cup.

Now to eat my breakfast and s2s. I did get my treadmill in before the call.

Just a thought about Indiana's recipe website. It was last archived in August 2010 by the web.archive.org project but hasn't been archived since then. I'll add this to my long, much neglected and unacted-upon list of things to take care of. We can't force an update of it but we might be able to mirror the site so if Wordpress removes it, we'll still have a copy.

In the meantime, you might want to look over the site and copy anything you are interested in. If one SHE wants to start copying the information over to a thread in our recipes section, that would be fine with me.

Thanks for the info yesterday on the ancestry forum! dd younger is the one interested in family history research - she loves history anyway and our family history on my mom's side is so real and current as my dmom lived life during the war and I believed sparked her interest.

won't be here today and tomorrow as they are varnishing the floors - we put the floors in when we first came as our outside animals became inside animals when we moved from the country

Good Morning!

Yesterday was spent with 4 generations of females from DH side of the family. We spent the day together shopping and enjoying each other company. I treasure these time together.

LO is still doing awesome. I've scheduled him a post-op hearing test for Dec 20th.

DMom has fallen twice in the last 3 days. Thankfully she is okay! The last time she couldn't get up so crawled across the yard to the gas meter to use as support so she could stand up. This morning I gently mentioned using walking sticks when she is out working in the yard/garden/gathering pecans/etc. That suggestion went over like a lead balloon. She told me "I refuse to act like I am 80 years old"

I used a shovel as a leaning/balancing stick while I was in the garden a couple days ago. It helped a little. I was off balance because there is almost nowhere to put my feet, the plants are so close.

Been helping DH fill out papers and I did my minutes from Nov 6...yes I left that project that long...it's been busy with Thanksgiving and all. Our meeting is tonight. Now that that's done I feel I have a handle on my day.

One always hopes!

ERGH!!! Just realized that the site ate my last post!!! Either that or I previewed it and forgot to hit submit.

Kathryn - Does DS like apple juice? Make him an AJ Slushie with super crushed ice, the pectin in the AJ and cold of the ice will help with the swelling and pain. Try Sorbet's rather than Ice Cream, much better for his throat then the dairy products. I maybe able to C&P some of Indiana's recipes but not this week.

OKay - Glad LO is doing so well. Would DMom be willing to use one of those beautiful jaunty walking sticks?

Harmony - glad to see I'm not the only procrastinator around.

Blessed - glad to help. Have you thought of getting her Ancestry Software for Christmas? I can make some suggestions.

I have now completed 2 rounds (my vanishing post was between the last rounds) I have gotten a lot done, well it feels like it at least since there were a ton of names to add for the distribution list.
