It's cool when teens learn the confidence to speak distinctly and clearly to a crowd, lucylee. They probably really enjoyed the play as well. Dd14 showed me the ornament you mentioned in Hallmark and thought it was great. I missed it lighting up - she was telling me about it.
Walked with my ddad outside. He has been enjoying his food again. He may have gotten overtired walking, but I think in general it was good for him. Weather has kept him in too long. He has still been struggling with memory today and hyper-focusing, but does come back to reality with me when I explain logically. For instance, no the lost item couldn't be in the car, because you had it yesterday and you haven't traveled anywhere.
Today I decorated the tree while letting the satellite station choose Christmas music for me. Two selections were so compelling I took notes in case I'd like to purchase. The tree is done and the tree skirt is underneath. So the lights box and an ornament box can be put away now. For any actually empty space in them, I'll store decorative mantel or table items that are about to be replaced by Christmas ones.
helia, can't you read her mind and know what to give? Several people in my world must believe I can. So glad to hear so much good news for your children.

Helia - Unfortunately I am dealing with the community college, as Mother pointed out I may just have to wait until I am accepted into a University to continue, hopefully this will be in the fall.

Ugh, as I just posted to Kathryn I am all of a sudden extremely tired. I know that I really need to work on my sewing, but I am so tired... I guess I will be sewing this evening. I also have a slight headache... maybe it is due to Aunt Flo or maybe it is let down from the anxiety. DS20 just grabbed my coffee cup (without being asked :p )I asked him to bring me a couple of N aproxyn as well. Think I will finish watching Criminal Minds then take a nap.

emptied most of the 3 season room of boxes now i need to pick up dd younger and take her to piano. dd olders anxiety is high today (finals, job applications, and girl drama and a lot of self doubt - which comes with stress for her). Stress can do that.
I still have to: do 3 baskets of put away from the 3 season room and sweep that room to be complete until after the holidays.
boxes for crawl space still need to be brought downstairs.
went to go pick up present for d brother and they hadn't started on it yet. It was supposed to be done yesterday but I could see she (employee) was on her own and killing herself to get items done. She told me to come back tomorrow but I told her I would go back saturday. New owner doesn't do the work but hires this poor woman to do all the orders herself.
Baby Boy is born and all is well!! Pictures of newborn are already on FB. We have 2 other DNeices due to give birth in the next 2-3 weeks, so the newborn excitement will continue. All 3 of them having been showing pictures & telling how they are ready to give birth ASAP, One of the DNeices has been in bed for the past 3 weeks.
How things have changed over the last 50 years...... I've heard DMom tell how her generation used to keep pregnancies a secret as long as possible. They would not appear in public very much and/or wear clothing to disguise the pregnancy as much as possible. That is a looooonnnnggg way from the way this generation treats pregnancies. This generation takes pictures of their pregnant bellies and post them on FB. I've seen several pictures by professional photo shots that include the siblings....the father.....all hugging/kissing/hands on bare PG belly. I've seen several bare PG bellies at the mall, grocery store, etc. Wonder what it will be like in another 50 years??
Change of plans. It's a good thing I'm pretty flexible. I spent some time going through the stack of my old letters from the attic. Dh has been wanting me to get that done soon. I cleaned the main bathroom for guests tonight. Then, dfriend in Calif. called. This is a friend who was here about 4/5 years ago while her dh was getting his MBA, and we were kind of like mentors to them. We chatted for about 40 minutes. So, no trip downtown. I can do that tomorrow. Now, I only have about 15 minutes before I need to leave; dd14 doesn't like me to be late.

WTG to Harriet's dd14!! It is nice when our kids are thriving in their school environment. My, we SHES have the most accomplished children - and grandchildren.
My girls are more or less thriving; dd14 has one quack-ish teacher, but she's doing very well in the class(biology) and seems to be learning some things regardless. And dd17's Latin teacher is not the pillar of the Latin dept. (dd14 has that teacher!) so I hope she is not too bored and will make enough progress this year to fit in with the Latin Vs next year, if she chooses to do that.
All "A"s for the girls so far here too. I hope dd14 can keep up with her coursework with all her extracurriculars going on. I think the swimming practices really wipe her out. Dd17 wants to graduate with a 4.0 like her brother. (Our highs school doesn't weight AP classes, etc. above a 4.0. I know some high schools do.) I'm glad she has high goals, but I don't want her to feel like she has to prove something or keep up with ds18 who is quite different from her. Our semester ends mid/late January so there's still time for grades to drop. . . .
I was afraid my energy spurt from the last few days would go poof - and it did. I have accomplished a few things. Part of closet cleaned and material found.
Set up new table for my computer as I had to sit sideways at the desk and it made a permanent crick in my neck. This one is great and I still face the window so I can see the world go by.
I now have more papers on the floor - but like Scarlett I will worry about that tomorrow.
The high here is only 64 compared to the 80's we've had up to this, brrrrrr. Plus it is cloudy and supposed to rain.
