Congratulations on the new job, scattered.

Harriet, dgd16 will have her gall bladder out next Wednesday. She is doing pretty good, but ready for it to be over.

Today I went to the town 50 miles away to shop. I made a little progress. I guess I thought that I would have a better selection there, but that wasn't the case. When I got back to town, I picked up a Christmas apron and a cookie cutter for dd2. She has always loved the Christmas Story movie, so they were based on that. I told her on the phone that I had bought something for part of her Christmas but she needed it now. I took it down to the store for her and she was so excited. She always wears an apron at work, so she put it on immediately. The cookie cutter is the leg with the lampshade. She will be baking cut out cookies with the kids this weekend so she can use it then. Sometimes you see a perfect gift for someone. Before she seen it she kept protesting that now she wouldn't have a surprise at Christmas. I could have waited but then she wouldn't get to really use or enjoy them till next year. I have another gift that I bought today and the rest will be money. The adults will all have 1 gift to unwrap and the rest will be money. I would rather give them mostly money than to buy a bunch of stuff they don't want or need.

Tonight dd2 and I took the 2 little girls across the street from my house to the boys school for dgs6s Christmas program. When it was over we were waiting for the boys, their dad and his wife to come by so we could talk to the boys. She seen us standing there and turned the boys the other way, and walked off. Their dad was talking to some guy and dd2 told him that his wife had went the opposite way to avoid us. He went and got the youngest one. Dd2 always makes sure that they can see their dad after a program, game or whatever, but his wife continually tries to keep them away from their mother. Dd2 commented to me that she doesn't realize that if something happened to their dad, she would never see them again. Dd2 said she would feel different if his wife respected the fact that she is the mother and his wife is the stepmother. The boys would rather be with their mom and 3 sisters all the time, but their dad wants them 50% of the time and our state allows that.

Dd2 business is going well. Last week she made over 48% of what she projected for a month. Who knows what after Christmas will bring. She has said that if it gets too slow, she will close Monday and Tuesday and cut her hours from 1 to 7. Just have to wait and see, because it might not slow down.

Congratulations on your new job, Scattered! :!: :!: :!: :D

I'm a bit disappointed that our Ddil is in the hospital so they can get her amniotic levels up which will be better for the baby. I posted at J & C's.

I'm tired. Goodnight, Village people. Have a good sleep and nice morning, too. Tomorrow's another day! TTFN. :D l

Harriet - paper sizes have been changed here in the last 40 years or so.
A4 mostly replaces foolscap and is most commonly used in photocopyer/ printers etc. It measures 11.75 inches x 8.25 inches. A5 is 1.2 A4. A6 is 1/2 A5. A3 is twice as big as A4. And A2 twice as big again.
So A5 diary measures 8.25 x 5.75 inches - thats the hard cover size.
I like spiral A6 notebooks to write my daily prayers in.

my friday.
yoga - new instructor - I think I like him. Radient light yoga school/ style that uses blocks, straps, blankets/ cushions as props. My Wednesday teacher is from the same branch of yoga. It felt like a thorough workout - not fast - but he was good describing which muscles to use and how.
paid bills.
posted some christmas cards/calendars to family.
phone call from a friend - good to hear from her.
Just begin.
