Good morning everyone! Sunday was an interesting day. We had a special adoption clinic and I had to get 3 cat crates into my rental car. Poor Iris had to ride in the back of the hatchback. It felt like putting her in the trunk. None of my cats were adopted, but two others in the org were. (I got my station wagone back Monday YEAH!) I actually remembered to get the white elephant gift wrapped and put in the car for church. Only when I got there, no one knew anything about an exchange. I am left wondering where I got the idea there was! My cruise travelling companion is in town and I had dinner with her. I had to tell her that I cannot make Hawaii this year due to the uncertainty in my job situation. It is just as well because the other travelling companion is having problems with internal bleeding right now, and I am not sure if she will be well enough for the trip.

Monday was the extra day for me to have DD10 and take her to the River of Lights. We hunted for dragon's eggs at the RoL and she took pictures and a good time was had by all. Her school day was not so good. I found out that one of the CT shooting victims went to her school last year. She was not able to get on the swings at recess. AND she is dreading and having nightmares about visiting her father's parents and having to deal with the cousins there. (They were mean to her on the last family vacation). AND she had trouble completing her work in class and had to take it home. AND she has a nasty cough. After the RoL, we stayed up until 11:00 getting that homework done.

Surprisingly, DD got up ok this morning. She had a nebulizer treatment for the cough, too. I had to get her to school, which I am not used to doing. That went well, except that I forgot my lunch! I am treating myself to lunch out today. Tonight is Girls' Night Out, which will undoubtably be Chinese food followed by Chuck E Cheese. I hope there is no homework tonight. If there is, it will be done at the restaurant.

My must do tasks tonight are laundry for my Christmas trip, wash hair, put trash out, reserve airport parking.

Elizabeth - I glad that DD is doing okay, and that you got your car back, sorry you didn't get any of the DCats adopted but I also know that would be a mixed blessing.

Blessed - I am sure they will appreciate the gifts even if they don't get there in time.

Helia - Don't feel bad I have to pull teeth to get DS20 to strip his bed and he lives here.

I posted my call to Acts of Kindness to my FB page also and so far only my DSis1 has shared my call to join.

I got the ironing done, but am now feeling rather bad, nauseated and fatigued... it came on suddenly. My first day is tomorrow so I think I may go lay down for an hour. I have agreed to meet a DFriend at the meeting tonight so I have got to get to feeling better. :(

I have had two calls about the chickens today from h. this last one was to see how many eggs I got today. I'm not the only one excited around here! LOL! The guys are clamoring for eggs to buy at work. The plastic eggs are now in the other nest box and hen is sitting in the other one.
So I'm unsure how many eggs have been laid today so far but some were not there until two-ish yesterday. So too soon to collect them. At least they have the hen door figured out so we are making progress around here.

Dgd has the sniffles so she is here and did not go to preschool today.

Hello Dear Ladies,

It a sunny day here, in the 50's. So thankful for the warmer weather again. I walked yesterday and today. Just slowly getting back into the exercise stuff.

Yesterday was a long day for me, the water got shut off right after I loaded the washer and dishwasher. :o It did come back on but put me really behind with laundry. Was still doing it after 10 P.M.

Had plans of attacking the house today, but I just feel tired after yesterday and decided the house doesn't look so bad.

Maybe after a nap, I'll putter and get some things done.

Yes, we do have guns here too. There have been a few times it felt reassuring to have them, including the time we had a very angry possum in our yard. But I'm not adamant about them.

Going to cuop and then take a nap.

Great day to all!

Back from the dr with gd. She IS NOT speaking to her mother (dd). But it'll pass. Have no idea what the dr. told dd -know she'll tell me later. I only know what the outcome is going to be (sort of) if gd doesn't shape up a bit. Sometimes thinking of her behaviors and attitudes going into adulthood are 'scary'.

I was going to go to W mart as soon as I got back but dh and dsonil are not here. Generally (unwritten rule) can't leave gd on her own. Sad at nearly 15. Going to a concert at dd's school about 6.

Figured I'd stop on my way back from store and pick up supper ( T bell tonight). Won't have time to do much else.

Support stockings feel good today. I'll wear them a few days and see if this problem goes away. It's not bad, just a tad uncomfortable and I know it should not be happening. (I broke this leg badly several years ago and a vein was removed when I had open heart 18 years ago. So it does act up occasionally.)
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Happy Happy!! DMom got a wonderful report from doctor today. At her last appt, the doctor said if her kidneys got any worse we were looking at possible dialysis. However, DMom kidneys are greatly improved after giving up aspirin products she was taking for arthritis pain. She is taking some Tylenol for the pain and is about to test the gin/raisin treatment. (doctor gave his approval for DMom to try it.)

My ddogs make me as happy as the hens make Nancy. A neighbor's garbage can had been raided overnight and not quite cleaned up. When we headed out to walk tonight, dMoses (the very smart Golden Retriever) grabbed some kind of tidbit which was apparently too big to chew up in front of Macs. Mose would have had to drop it to get a smaller bite, and that would have drawn Macs' attention. Mose was determined he was not going to drop it. All the walk (approx 2/3 mile) he played it cool, staying enough away from Macs that Macs didn't realize there was food at play. When we walked in the front door, Macs went straight ahead, but then circled back toward the kitchen and DR. Mose had started toward the DR/kitchen as a circle route outside, but had to double back to the front door and make a straight shot toward the patio door. I shut the door behind him and let him enjoy whatever it was; I hope it doesn't make him sick, lol.

Dd is out for the evening, ds upstairs. Haven't heard from dh, but I ate leftovers soon after I got home. Finally resolved the client issue, but they wanted to meet at 1 p.m. so I skipped lunch to be ready and I was hungry when I came through the door.

I am so happy to be not going back to work until Jan 7!

Tomorrow I need to call new hospital for dsis back as they did not call me today. Also have a temple board meeting tomorrow night.

After 2 days of trying to tie up loose ends I am done except for 3 stocking stuffers. I had bought dgs7 a Sky lander Giant W ii game for his birthday. There are all kinds of little creatures to go with it. Tonight after school I asked them which ones they might want and they gave me the names of some. Dd1 and I are going later and we're each buying them one for a stocking stuffer. So that will give them 4. Then I need to buy dgd16 a stocking stuffer and I will be done, done, DONE.

Tomorrow is dgd16 gall bladder surgery. They told dd2 they may need to keep her overnight. Dd2 will not repeat that to dgd16 or she will make sure they keep her. Dd2 says she has never seen anyone so excited to have surgery. Dd2 is hoping her ex will spend the day at the hospital with his daughter. He took the day off for her surgery. Dd2 says she doesn't want to spend all day with him, so if he will stay after she is out of recovery and in a room, then dd2 can work for awhile. They plan to keep her until evening because of her age and then she may or may not go home.

They are forecasting a blizzard for here tomorrow. Dd2 received a call today about a birthday party that is scheduled for tomorrow night. They are coming from almost an hour away and wanted to make sure she would be open, even if there was a blizzard. Dd2 said she guessed so, but commented to me that she sure wouldn't let her kids travel in a blizzard to a party.

I need to start on a grocery list for our Christmas dinner.

Dh recently took the concealed weapon class. Then he bought a small revolver. We really felt like it was necessary because he likes to take motorcyle trips and sometimes he goes alone. At 60 years old, he might look vulnerable to the wrong kind of people. Of course, he will have to know each states gun laws. He wanted me to take the class but I don't want to. He says he hopes to never need to use it.

When our dd2 was in basic training for the A ir F orce, she had to learn to shoot. She had never shot a gun and she did extremely well and got a marksman award for it. She saved the paper that she shot at, to show us. To say they least, we were surprised.
