Sensational Saturday!!

Post by itneverends »

I am determined to feel Sensational about whatever I can get done today. Weather good or bad, I will view it as, any progress is Sensational. My wish for today is that all of us villagers feel Sensational about something, preferably everything, today

What can YOU do to make your day a Sensational Saturday?

Dh and I went out for a very nice dinner at Longhorn Steak House last night. I ordered prime rib,and altho it was probably the niceset cut of meat I had seen in ages, there was no way I could finish it. So fortunately I have a sweet lunch waiting for me in the fridge today 8-) . When we got home I quickly learned that the bank in town was robbed, thus explaining the extremely large number of sheriff deputies roaming the streets. We live in a very small village, so nothing stays quiet around here for long. Made for an intersting evening, but I can't help but think, is the world going CRAZY lately? I mean Aurora Colorado, Newton Conneticut, Webster NY? And we get a gunpoint robbery in our quiet very quiet sleepy village. Im tellin ya, things are getting out of control. Having said all that, I must focus on my ginormous todo list. ( I EASILY get distracted, lol)

I think I am going to post in blocks today....todo's in smaller increments might make this all seem not so overwhelming. Maybe....I hope....A girl can hope can't she?

AND SCATTERED....Call me when you get moving, Im not going to let you rest today, I need a partner with this big clean up, lol. And you are ITTTTTTT!

Tada's
did not sleep in too late. Up at 630
morning meds
weather check....3 to 5 MORE inches of snow Uugghhh
breakfast

Round TWO
wake DH as he has a mtg at 10 across town
wash up
d2s
downto the laundry room to sort the gazillion loads of laundry
start laundry

We'll see how that goes for now. Hopefully the blocks can get bigger and I can get much accomplished today. Including today, I have 4 more days off and a month of work around here, lol. I can do this!!!!!!!!

Thanks for starting us off today, INE. I need a sensational Saturday; yesterday was kind of a bust. My day ended up getting chopped into bits by errands, and I don't deal with that very well. I need to grow in dealing with small bits of time as my life often is pretty fragmented. Dfriend came here to walk instead of my going to her place; we walked and had lunch together - for 3 hours. Then, I took dd14 across town to buy swim goggles. Then, an hour later, I took her to the hs for synch. swim practice. Then, I called in an order of take out to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant here and stopped by the library to pick up the book on tape en route to picking up the food. I was home for an hour and then I picked up dd14 from synch. practice to be home for good around 8:30 pm.

The kids and I watched a movie on netflix last night -- and dd14 actually watched with us! Wow!! That is pretty amazing. Dd14 does not like movies and usually refuses to watch them at all, especially in theaters. Maybe b/c it was on dd17's laptop it was less bothersome to her. We watched The Italian Job, so it wasn't even a kid movie.

Checking weather. . . we may get another inch today but other than that, not much snow in our forecast.

I think I am going to post in blocks today....todo's in smaller increments might make this all seem not so overwhelming. Maybe....I hope....A girl can hope can't she?

I too like posting my todos in small blocks; it helps me stay focused.

My first block:
-s2s
-bed made
-kitchen reclaimed - it's not too bad.

Raining out this morning -but better than the snow up home I guess.

Oh no, gd is up -late, but up. Hope she's in a good mood today. Imagine her friend will go home sometime today.

We have a LOT of work to do to ready dd's house for company on Tuesday. Have about 10-12 others coming for dinner on New Year's Day. Hoping this is a good idea. It's very hard to clean here because gd undoes about everything -sometimes quite deliberately. "Pigpen" on Charlie Brown has absolutely nothing on her. I could write a book just on her microwave escapades. I've been 2 weeks getting the last 'burn' smell out of there. Tried everything -think it's finally dissipated. Last night I opened the door and she'd evidently placed a jar of apple butter precariously on the door -just piled it in. Fell out and smashed on the ceramic tile. DH and I finally got that cleaned up and mopped several times.

Guess I've ranted long enough. Now it's time to try to get some cleaning done.

Thanks for starting us this morning, INE.

Good morning Helia.....I dont do well with days like that either. I need a plan and stick to it. I also want to work ion that, being more open to changes to my "plan.'

Dee....i would go crazy if someone went behind me undoing my Tada's. Wouldn't deal well with that at all. God Bless you!

Well, i have d2s, washed up, woke up and got DH out the door to his mtg, and was about to do downstairs to start laundry when DD woke up and jumped in the shower. Thusly, postponing my laundry launch until she is done with the water. Old houses, what a joy! I tidied upo the kitchen (BONUS!) instead while I am waiting for her to finsh. I think she has to be at work in a half hour so she wont be much longer.

Waiting on scattered to get her butt up and play with me, but she is being silent lol. Im not going to let her sleep for much longer, lol.

Discussed taking down the tree and Xmas decorations with DH but he wanted no part of it today so Im guessing thats going to have to wait. He is at least going to pick up the ingrediants for tonights dinner, we are having Veggie lasagna, one of my favorites.

Ok moving on to launch the laundry marathon. Be back soon for round three.

Up and about here - I took Nyquill last night to sleep (after tossing and turning for awhile with a cough and stuffy nose) and I slept extremely well, and late. Dh is gone to Torah study and dkids still asleep, tho I hear someone's cell phone alarm going off periodically.

The two big to-dos for today are to go by alterations place, and get a BD present and cards for dh for tomorrow. We are going out to eat with a dfriend of his and his extended family tomorrow night. I also intend to work on accumulated papers today - starting with a small stack on the kitchen counter.

-s2s
-breakfast
-meds/vitamins
-hang delicates that are in dryer
-clear kitchen counters
-bonus - clear at least 10 pieces of paper

Good Morning!

INE - Thank you for the sensational start today! :)

I woke up refreshed and ready to go around 4:30am. I felt like I had slept well although my sleep monitor said I was awake 9 times during the night. I only remember a couple of them.....it just dawned on me.....wonder if I'm sleepwalking???

I cooked pigs-in-blanket and eggs for the guys breakfast and oatmeal/blueberry/yogurt for me. The kitchen is cleaned up and lunch (stuffed bell peppers) prep is started

I have a long "buy" list and 3 coupons that expire 12/31.....hum.....do I want to shop today or Monday? (the honest answer is NEITHER....but nevertheless it has to be done)

It is suppose to get above freezing today for the first time since ?Sunday?. MPB should be able to open up for about 5-6 hours this afternoon. We had someone come push the snow/ice off the concrete area yesterday so at least that part is done. DH is doing the long process of getting it ready to open up this morning. I expect it will have long lines during it's open hours.

Sensational: I have the hallway leading from the dining room to the laundry room cleaned! Also finished cleaning up the dining room. We brought several bags from W mart the other day that now have been sorted. Some for the top shelf of dd's closet for next Christmas and others in a box to go home for presents up home. I also picked up an electric candle (wax) warmer. So now have that plugged in as well.

Next up is getting the large entryway cleaned (again). No sense in doing the living room until Monday. :( Right now gd's things are pretty well scattered over the entire floor.

Setting my timer for the next 30 and diving in. Doing this while trying to be kind to my left leg/knee. Have a knee brace on but didn't put on my support stockings this morning. May have to before the day is over. Perhaps I'll take 20 minutes to put my toes up first. Sounds good. :P

I'm up but not doing much except surfing this am, so far. Today, DH decided that we are to empty boxes in the garage so we can pack up the house for construction. That doesn't seem constructive for me. I'd rather get new boxes and do garage when it is warmer. Oh! well! guess I have to do it his way once in awhile.

He did go grocery shopping yesterday for me and picked up some steaks for our dinner tonight. He knows how I hate to shop.

Sensational! Entryway done! (I'm not vacuuming until Monday & doing some dusting). That's 2 rooms done. DD says she's going to do the kitchen -so that means I can start on the living room -where is the "shudder" icon?

DH has been working on one of his smaller Christmas puzzles. I usually try to find him 1 or 2. Gives him something to do part of the winter anyway.

Need to go put my 'toes' up for 30 or so and then I'll start in again. Never takes as long as we think but it sure does look oppressive before we start.
