Quiet day here at home. Got routine done this morning, then relaxed this afternoon. Printed out the Focus 2013 schedule and cut to fit on 3 x 5's. So I'm all ready for a good start to a band new year. Not sure if we will have any company tomorrow or Tues. We haven't heard from dsons for a couple of days.

****Posted above earlier and went back to finish cuop from today. Lilac I was sorry to read that your dgd is still in hospital. I hope they find out what is wrong soon! ((Hugs)) for your family!

Happy birthday to the bday boys!

Today was a much more peaceful day here with only one roo. I mixed up feed to combine smaller amounts in various sacks to make room for the new sacks of feed I got yesterday.

Then later in the afternoon we got the coop rigged up moved the cord to the other light I changed out the bulb and closed the door to the run & the chicken door to the run figured; glad I out how to get them in the coop for a couple nights tonight is sort of a practice before Wed. it's going to be the coldest we've had here down to 11* [but so far the forecast has not been as low as they predicted].

I rigged up a roost of course h. had to look and had a better idea for what he is now calling "our" chickens they used to be mine or "your" chickens! I guess he is enjoying having them as much as I am. One beige egg today found inside the coop! Yea! for them using the new nest box!

The two sisters are sharing a nest box inside, three are in the upper loft area a couple are are on the rail above the loft, others are on the roosting area we rigged up so they fit barely.

I'm back home again and heading off to bed after I eat some vegetables. I've only had one serving so far today. I'll have some juice, too, but all that will only bring up the count to four.

I'm feeling really fluish or coldish plus my period arrived today, so you can throw in cramps too. A winning combination!

I kept taking ibuprofen and we took the kids to the train, then went to watch The Silver Lining Playbook (very good but a bit dark since it is about mental illness and dysfunctional families.) We grabbed burgers on the way home and then I picked up milk and bags of salad. Plus Christmas cards for the business next year (got 128 deluxe quality ones for $13.20) Oh, and I bought a pocket calendar. Wrong size for my holder but I've been shopping for one for 8 weeks now and couldn't find anything that was perfect so decided half price was better than nothing.

We managed to leave around 4:45, there was a line at the donation truck, but I got it donated and have receipt to proof it. Stopped by WM for ingredients to make Tzatiki sauce, went looking for spray bottles (couldn't find them) so I went over to the Christmas Section to look to see if they had a Christmas Tree Storage Bin (the website had said out of stock). They actually had one that was much better than any on the internet. Actually forgot to pick-up several things we need but oh well. Then we went to B&N and DS13 spent his gift cards, one of the books I will probably read when he is done... in a couple of days.

The recipe for the Gyro said to put it in a pan in another pan with water in the oven for 1.5 - 2 hrs, I knew that I was not going to want to wait that long when we got home. So I put the meat in a coring ware casserole dish in the large crock-pot with water and turned it on to high. By the time we got home it was almost done, so I transferred it to the oven. I then made the Tzatiki and diced the onions and tomatoes, put tater-tots in the oven and called it dinner. Yummy but very filling.

Need to sign refinance paperwork and figure out route for tomorrow (I like to map out my route of patient visits so I am not backtracking) and then go to bed at a decent hour.

Haven't even cuop for today. Maybe I'll go back and read AFTER I post. Never got a chance today.

DD and I went to Hollywood Studios at D isney last night -mainly to see the Osborne Family Christmas. But neither of us wanted to get up this morning. I woke up at 8:20 and had to be out of here for church before 9. Didn't get much done during the day. Then I cleaned the refrigerator -dd ended up helping take out the shelves and drawers and washing them. I did up the dishes and several containers from the fridge. Looks really nice now and was ready to receive the groceries we got at W mart tonight.

We watched the funeral service (streaming from TV up home) for the first firefighter today. DDIL#1 stood as Honor Guard last night and was completely drained today. There were 1,000's who filed by last night to pay their respects to both firemen. It was snowy, windy and cold there last night. There were random acts of kindness as several cups of coffee and hand warmers were handed out. Fire departments from all over the country paid their respects. Another act of kindness is that individuals and companies paid for hotel rooms for firemen coming to this village. The first funeral was today and the first hour and a half (at least) was simply firemen/policemen filing past the casket. Many will do it all over again tomorrow for the 2nd fireman. Know our DS-A was among those who went today and again tomorrow. DSGD22 was there last night and I'm sure tomorrow. I know firemen face tragedy every time they venture out for a call, but rarely would anyone think this would happen.

One company from Long Island, who were helped for several days by the older of these 2 firemen, after Hurricane Sandy -came to pay their respect to one they had come to know quite well in a short time. There are so many stories coming out of this as I know there are out of Sandy Hook. If only we could do something for all of them.

GD14 has gone to spend a couple of days with the girl who was here for a couple of days. Of course she's usually on very good behavior while she's gone like this -until she becomes too 'familiar'. Then she starts showing her 'true' colors. Kinda nice with only we 4 adults here though.

We're having a bunch of dsonil's family and our family over for New Years for dinner. Have everything out to prepare dishes and we've even made a list of everything we can get done ahead of time tomorrow -such as peeling potatoes, getting out dishes, baking some things. We're up for this. DD cleaned gd's bathroom (guest bathroom) and hallway today. I mean, you could in no way walk down that hall. Now to get it to last if she comes back tomorrow night.

Oh boy have I ever messed up here! Wanted to get here to wish Ken and Twins Dad Happy Birthday today. But in doing that I notice I missed wishing Mr & Mrs MT a Happy Anniversary yesterday and Mr. & Mrs. Norma - a Happy Anniversary on Friday!
So please consider this a great big blanket wish to all of you!!

Dd has concluded she has the worst travel luck ever. She purposefully took the train to avoid delays due to weather. The natives have barricaded the rail line so she'll be getting into Toronto 6 hours late (and missing her ride to Waterloo unless that couple agree to wait until the middle of the night to leave.)

So far 3/3 segments of her trip have been delayed more than 4 hours.

I should be in bed now but dh's aunt called and talked to us. Longer than she has ever talked to us in our lives. (His uncle has dementia and she was bringing us up to date with the situation.)

We celebrated Christmas with DD & Dgrson-16 today and DD's b-day, too. I'm pooped, and need to go rest now.

I spent a little time today planning schedules for 2013. Pulled out my SHE planner, & decided to go back to that this year. I have been using a spiral notebook to list all of my Off My Mind & To Do lists, but then I don't always remember to schedule those things into my days. A month or so later I'll open the notebook to add more things & find that I can cross off many of the entries. I think using the planner makes me more efficient, & I'm all about getting more done this year .

I haven't taken any Christmas decorations down yet. Dh likes to keep everything up through the first week of January, while I would rather take it all down before Jan 1st. Since this is one of the few things he pouts about , I usually let him have his way. Last year I insisted on putting everything away by Dec 31st, so this year it is his turn to enjoy the decorations into January.

Hi everybody!

This morning I did something I've never done in 13 years. I actually spilled c oca- c ola in my keyboard.

I decided to turn off the computer and let the keyboard "dry out" as best as possible. I actually did some work around here instead.


I got the spare bedroom (dd's old room) cleared up. Took all the clean laundry out and put it away.

I got 10 loads of laundry washed, dried, and put away.

I cleaned the bathroom.

I don't think I can take any more of this. There is a pile of books beside the bed, so I didn't actually lose total control of myself.

IF I don't get back tomorrow (working from 6 a.m until ?) Happy New Year everybody!!
