Re: Marvelous Monday
I have to work today but I'm off tomorrow. I am d2s, working on my coffee, and finally figured out how to log into my work email.
I still need to put on some make-up, pack my lunch, and fill my coffee cups. I have a visit at 8:30 and then plan to make several stops before I head into the office. Then it will be home to spend a quiet evening and tomorrow with the DS's.
ToDo/TaDa's
d2s
coffee
log in to email
make-up
pack lunch & coffee cups
Work
Home to figure out dinner
Have a great day Villagers

Re: Marvelous Monday
Oooooh, scattered, we are going to friends' party this evening. Fairly large, multi generational so there are kids/young adults and a little of all. The trouble is....we can't stay up that late. Last year we were out of town, but I fell asleep with out of town friends' ddog before midnight. The year before I think we were invited to the friends who are having the party this year, and I think we called at 9 p.m. to say we weren't going to make it. I half way hope we don't go somehow; dh is usually asleep on the couch well before 9 p.m. and I'm usually asleep early too.
Lots to do this last day of the year. I am heading to SSA office this morning on behalf of dsis so we'll see how far I can get with that. Also I need to go to alterations place with pants for me and dmom and I'd like to get by the Honda dealership - I think I have a headlight/foglight out. (I know that dh could probably take care of it if he had the time and if he were motivated but often his "projects" involve a lot going wrong and him frustrated...so I'll just deal with this.
) And I have a li&t of phone calls to make for appointments, etc. later in the week or next week. (Haircut/color, dog bath, dog vet visits for ckups, pedicure with dd, what else?)
Email early this morning that member of congregation previously on life support passed away last night, with probably funeral tomorrow.
Dsis' Xdh just emailed me some bills that hadn't been forwarded by PO and I paid electric bill for her house online - cut off date was Wednesday.
I need to get rolling here - dcleaning lady will be here today and I need to get out of the house...
-clear kitchen counters/kitchen table
-empty dishwasher
-straighten up MBR and get out fresh sheets
-breakfast
-s2s
I am trying not to get sidetracked...trying not to get sidetracked, not to get sidetracked...

Re: Marvelous Monday
Sidetracked? Really, Twins?? You think any of us would possibly get SIDETRACKED?
In actuality I'm fighting it too. Just being here is starting that sidetracked train this morning. But everyone else just got up. DD just said how nice and quiet it is here this morning without gd. She's still at her friends. Sure they'll be ready to send her home by this afternoon.
Have to take dd to an eye specialist this afternoon. She got her glasses ordered the other day from the regular eye dr. Then we'll go to A ldi's for a few needed things.
Going to finish doing our l&&t of things we can get done today and this evening in prep for our houseful of company tomorrow. Thought of 1/2 & 1/2 this morning at 4am.
for dsisil. I'll buy a quart and then use the remainder in scalloped potatoes later this week.
Will try not to get sidetracked watching the funeral events for the second fireman this morning. I can watch this evening when I'm past doing anything else.

Re: Marvelous Monday
Good Morning!
New Year Eve celebration will be done during the daytime. Being the wild people that we are......we are celebrating by eating JUNK FOOD today.
Tomorrow we will return to eating our vegetables, fruits & healthy grains. We used to celebrate New Years by having a party and doing the countdown to midnight. For well over 40 years those parties varied but always included the same couple. However, now we are both raising young grandchildren so our celebrating has changed. With 4 under the age of 7 years old, it is MUCH EASIER to celebrate together with a junk food meal during daylight hours and maintain the same bedtime.
Yesterday i worked on updating financial accounts for several hours. I was able to do 374 transactions. I wish I could say I am 1/2 done.....but I don't think so Today i will continue the effort as time allows.

waving from the last 20 min of 2012.
any good ideas for today went out the window as I finished reading a book.
I'll just go wash my dishes so all are clean for the new year.
Wishing you all the best for last day of 2012.

Re: Marvelous Monday
We are getting the snow as predicted. The wind is not blowing and it looks so pretty out. It is really piling up. I need to get showered after breakfast, meds, etc. I don't know how we are going to proceed today with the babysitting. I do not want to get out on the highway and drive to their house. On the other hand, I hate for her to have to get all the kids out. This is one of those times when I wish they had not moved out there. There was a head-on fatality on Christmas Day between here and there. There was no where near this amount of snow. It was on a bridge, so was slick. I am hoping her dh will stay home with the kids until after the procedure or else that he was up early and out to the farm so he could get back and watch them. I need to hit it, so I am ready for whatever.

Re: Marvelous Monday
Lilac can I play the tough love card and point out that she chose to move there and so she has to accept the consequences the move brings?
I'm up.
Feel like I've been hit by a truck.
Part of it will be the snowshoeing (ds was really, really, hard hit by that and it never occurred to me it would be too much for him.)
Part of it is my TOM and the cramps and heavy bleeding I'm going through (no wonder I craved a burger last night.)
Part of it is general exhaustion now that I can take a day off after a dozen high energy days.
Part of it is my sore throat. I may be coming down with something.
I was in bed for almost 10 hours (except for up and down to deal with TOM.) The sore throat kept me from having a restful night's sleep.
I'm up now and puttering. Tidied my room a bit but it desperately needs vacuuming and dusting before I feel it is back in order.
The laundry is piling up. I'll do one or two loads tonight and the rest tomorrow since tomorrow is a cheap electricity day all day.
The recycling is piling up. I'll take that out to the garage when I get a moment. I've been wearing my new moccasins in the house instead of shoes, partly because they are warm and comfy and partly because they aren't lace up so getting in and out of them to switch to boots or at nap time is easy. On the other hand, I won't step into the garage with them on (too much salt and sand) so I haven't been able to take the recycle out.
The dishes are almost up to date, just the sausage pan from brunch and a couple of glasses. But I do have to empty the dishwasher. Dd put away the good china, crystal and silver yesterday so that isn't a chore wearing me down.
In my tradition, the tree stays up until at least tomorrow so I don't have to worry about that for now. I'll do most of the undecorating over the next week. It is a long process.
Dh is going out today to a movie. I don't want to go see it but I might go into the city with him and get more errands run. Or wait until things quiet down a bit. I have enough fresh veggies and milk to last through until the second and until the 8th to return dh's camera (we bought the same one again at Costco because it came with a waterproof case and dh will be in the rainforest for part of his trip so keeping humidity out of the camera is important.)
I guess I'll start by making my tea and emptying the dishwasher. If that goes well, I'll move on to s2s.
(Dd's godparents called last night and asked if we were heading their way could we bring their son? Normally I would have jumped at the chance to spend New Years with them, but decided I was too tired. So it will just be dh and I since ds has to work.)

Re: Marvelous Monday
CUOP through yesterday
and waving to Lisa.
Cathy
scattered, how does ds13's hair look after the extra work? I'm not surprised at the mayo. I'm just surprised he put up with Mom messing with his hair.
Emptynester, it would be hard on me to lose boxes without getting them to their intended purpose, too.
I've made an appt to get car inspected after HRH gets home today, so we can drop it off. There should be time to make sure that's done, then drop the annual fee into the mail before 5. (If you pay the silly Dept of Trans before your car is inspected they throw a hissy fit, send your check back and scold you.
You have to do it in order.)

I got the spare bedroom (dd's old room) cleared up. Took all the clean laundry out and put it away.
I got 10 loads of laundry washed, dried, and put away.
I cleaned the bathroom.
I don't think I can take any more of this. There is a pile of books beside the bed, so I didn't actually lose total control of myself.
