update at 12:36 -company will be here soon but dd just went to gd's hallway when I pointed. Some things scattered on the floor again. DD put it away and asked her to keep the bathroom clean for the next few hours anyway. Give us strength. Of course dsisil and her 2 sisters (who are also coming) see absolutely nothing wrong in her behavior. Albeit gd almost caught her house on fire last week. Mostly actions from her being bored. So praying that another year will make the golden difference! She will be 14 1/2 in 9 days.

Re: JANUARY 1, 2013
Have things ready to make "double corn casserole" and I'm just going to disappear for a bit. Find gd's subtly irritating me. (and her dmom!) Won't even go into it all. Just the little messes she's making when she knows company's coming and she just doesn't care! DD just picked up her (guest) bathroom again. Her room's a mess and she refuses to close her door (on the way to the bathroom). Grrrr.....I'm getting too old for this -not that dd's handling it much better.

Nancy - I'm so glad you feel good today
Blessed - I'm glad you like them, I love seeing them all done!
MT - I hope you can stay in front of the migraine
{{{Dee}}} - Sending you strength so that you &/or DD don't kill or maim DgD
Lilac - Happy New Year, hows Dgd doing?
INE - please call me when you get a moment...
Kathryn - Enjoy your Sabbath
Ugh it took me a long time to get motivated, but once I got moving and through the shower I am doing much better. Ended up doing a small moderate clean of the BathR, may or may not sweep up there today. I discovered that cloth diapers work great to clean the mirror, need to pick-up a pack next time I go shopping. Got DS13 up and had him gather his laundry, I had already gathered mine and the towels from the BathR, which I had put in a hamper outside his room. He then brought the hamper down and sorted the laundry so I need to just go in and get Bert & Ernie chewing. Then it will be time to start de-decorating the tree. When DS20 gets up he needs to run pick-up some Kerosene, I think I am going to have him pick-up either sausage or bacon and we will have Breakfast for dinner. Oh that reminds me I also pulled out some meat to thaw so I can start putting together meals for this week.
While I was reading my Meditations I loved the one for today in the book I bought at B&N so I thought I would share it with ya'll. The book is Meditations for Women Who DO TOO MUCH, by Anne Wilson Schaef.
Start the Day Routine (SDR)
s2s
coffee
meds & vitamins
prayer & meditation (DP gave me a cleaning flip calendar & I bought myself an inspirational daily readings at B&N)
something small to eat (I am not a breakfast person, it actually makes me ill if I eat to much in the morning... always been like that
)
swish & swipe BathR
ToDo/TaDa
SDR
Gather laundry
pull out meat to de-frost
feed Bert & Ernie w() d() f() p/a()
undecorate tree
pack tree in new box
pull boxes out of closet
go through boxes
check hidden closet for contents (I am rather scared to see what is in there)
Need to feed B&E and get my poop in a group.

Re: JANUARY 1, 2013
Happy New Year ya'll...
Up, fed doggies, had my coffee, picked up footprints and spent time clearing off my desk...yippie I found the bottom of the pile
Sweetie and I spent a quiet evening last night. We watched Avitar, which is still one of my favorite movies, and then listened to the Whistler ...an old timey radio show...after we went to bed. i spent all day yesterday reading, which is one of my favorite things to do.
Tomorrow I am having lunch with a bunch of my friends and I am really looking forward to that. I've enjoyed all of Nancy's tales about her chickens. As for strange Xmas gifts...this year Sweetie asked for all new underclothes...We're both to the point we have everything we need, so I was glad he made that request. Instead of buying them at a discount store like W Mart I headed for M acys. They were throwing a sale and I had a great coupon to go with it. Splurged and bought him the "good stuff". T-shirts are made with much better cotton thread....so are the underware. Best of all I was able to find premium Gold Toe white socks and I think the man is in 7th heaven. Sweeties daily uniform is colored jeans and a white t-shirt so I am glad he is finding everything to his liking.
I am determined to figure out my ancestry this year...the sooner the better. I've been working on it for the past several days and keep coming up with a dead end. Gonna go back to the beginning and start reviewing my research with new eyes. Already found some leads that I've over looked.
Forgot to tell ya'll I cracked a tooth two days before Xmas...They patched it on the 24th and then I went back in Friday for a temp cap. Have to have a crown up in a week from this Friday. The area is very sensitive to cold and sweets so I have had to be very guarded with what I eat. Be glad when this is over with.
Twins...I shared your Max eating story with my friend yesterday after she told my of her big adventure. She has a boxer and it seems that Emma ate her xmas gift. This dog will usually eat anything especially when my friend is not around. Last time Emma ate almost a whole 5 lb bag of natural fertilizer. This time my friend left Emma's rope toy WITH a squeaker on the kitchen counter. You know the rest of the story. My friend had to take Emma to the emergency vet. Her xray showed that the pieces of rope and the squeaker had passed through her stomach and small intestines so they sent my friend and Emma home. The next day after careful examination, my friend found the squeaker in Emma's poop.
Harmony...I can't believe you had that iron for 40 years. My mom has an ironing board that I want after she's gone. Its our inside joke. Its small and the legs are made of metal. I love it because of its size and the fact that the board is so stable. My great grandmother gave it to my mother as a shower gift before my mom was married...and that was 65 years ago.
Lucylee...Xmas is over and you know what that means...Half the school year is over and its time to get your retirement papers filled out and submitted.
Hope ya'll are starting your first day of the year with joy in your heart. Wondering how Elizabeth is doing in Mobile. They were hit with the worst tornadoes ever recorded on an Xmas day. All of my friends made it through, but I don't know where Elizabeth is staying so I don't know about how she is doing. Will be glad when she posts. Cya'll later...I have bills to pay and money to pay them with...like it when that happens

Lilac.....Happy New Year!!
Blessed.... Go ahead, Pretend the day away!!! Love it!!
Kathryn....not to be the bearer of bad news, but, its going to get alot colder this week. YUCK!!!!!
Dee....Breathe...and Good Luck!!!!!
Taking a break from the upstairs, had to take another pill for pain. Going to head back to the laundry when it kicks in. I am making good progress on the Christmas dumping room aka my bedroom tho. I can almst see the 'normal' again. I also had to find my long underwear pants for this week. Haven't needed them this winter yet but the forecasted temps for this week are saying I will need them now. At least in the mornings.
DD just called (she woke up and left immediately to go to dfiances house to say goodbye to his relatives) and we decided that the four of us ARE going out to dinner tonight. It will be an early one tho as I have to get back on my early early bedtime routine. 345a, comes REAL fast if I don't.
TADA's
up at a decent hour....630am
breakfast
meds
email and boards
reboot laundry by flipping and restarting
folded a load of darks
cleaned off desk and gathered all mail
took ibuprophen for pain....hoping to keep it at bay for at least half the day
put away clean dishes
reloaded dw
rehomed the perpetual clutter of strays that land in the kitchen
cleaned counters
opened kitchen blinds and let the gloom and doom in....hoping for a little sunshine today
fliped laundry
folded a HUGE load of dd's tee shirts. Lord only knows why the girl feels the need for so many tee shirts
attempt to wake Dh.....He's UP!!! Praise the Lord!
menu for the rest of the week
grocery list ..... someone MUST go grocery shopping today...Dh is going for me so as I dont get rammed with a cart or anything, lol. THAT would hurt!!!!
fliped and folded load
started another load to soak and wash (75minutes)
folded another load of Tee shirts
Fixed payment issue with Amazon so my Kindle purchases will go thru
Kindle charging so its good for the week (work has alot of downtime)
eat a sandwhich
head upstairs when Dh leaves
wash up and d2s
to put away clothes from the marathon
in progress work on/in bedroom

Re: JANUARY 1, 2013
Hi everyone! Happy New Year!
Dh & I watched about five minutes of TV coverage last night, just to see the ball drop. It was such a pretty one this year -- so sparkly. We completely forgot to have the champagne we bought
. Think I'll make myself a mimosa later as I've never had one. Looked up the ratio, & for anyone interested it is 3 parts OJ to one part champagne.
New calendars are up in the kitchen & office & all info is transfered. Cardfile & planner are waiting for me on the dining room table. I'll work on those after lunch. We are having a lazy day here. Slept in, had a late breakfast, dh is watching the parade, & I was puttering before getting online. Dinner is planned. Normally Tues is an errand day for me so there is nothing pressing to get done.
Sending feel better wishes to all who are under the weather, & ((hugs)) for all who need them. Thanks to Harriet for setting up 2013 threads, & thank you to all the admins & mods who keep our cozy little corner of the web up & running.
Hope you all have a wonderful day -- it's going to be a great year!

Re: JANUARY 1, 2013
Oh my goodness... y'all are on page 3 and I'm just waking up!!! Disappointed that once again I missed the Rose Bowl parade. I love to watch it, and I almost always sleep through it!!!
But I have eaten my breakfast... weighed/measured/recorded.
Happy to see that my overall measurements are slightly less than they were a year ago, and my weight was about a pound lower... and that is with virtually no effort on my part at all, at least after June 26.
So -- I'm thinking, if I put forth just a LITTLE effort, I should be able to see some real improvement, right?
And Cowinkie -- I KNOW!!! Ooohhh... hard to believe it is time to do this! Scared!
Excited!
Relieved!
Twenty more Mondays... (counting tomorrow as a Monday, LOL) and then I guess I'll sleep through EVERYTHING that happens before noon for the rest of my life. * sigh *
Waving to all! Sending lots of good wishes for a very happy first day of 2013!
Big ditto to Dove --

INE...
I have my long john top on right now. Bought 2 more tops just the other day. That brings my total up to 4. Usually I wear an undershirt, but found these tops keep me warmer cause of the full sleeves.
My mom and I get the giggles over this every winter. She's tiny and last year she couldn't find any undershirts that fit her. I took her to the Girls department and bought hers there. They fit my mom just perfectly. Isn't it funny how you spend the first 12-13 years of your life waiting to get rid of your undershirt so you can wear a bra and then after you get old you can't wait to start wearing them again???

Re: JANUARY 1, 2013
Scattered, I called as you ordered. YOU didn't answer. So there
I am just waiting for this load of wash to finish so I can flip then I am going back upstairs to work and get drewsed for dinner. We are going to a new steak house that just opened up that both Dh and I and DD and dfiance have gift cards to. Im looking forward to actually having a meal with my daughter with the chaos of the holidays. We are shooting for a 5 o'clock dinner.
When I get home I have to do a quick check that I have everything in order for morning. Being so early in the morning when I leave, I dont usually have the wherewithall do check everything, so it is much more prudent that I do it the night before. Then I can just get up and get ready to leave on autopilot. I have been off for eleven days, not looking real forward to going back, but at least its only a three day week. Oops, spoke to soon, i just remembered I have 'trips" ( which are extra work assignments out of my normal) on Thursday and Friday. I think Thursdays is during the day, and Fridays I think is evening. Oh well, its extra money, who cant use that?
Dh is on his way home from shopping, so I will probably have to put that stuff away too before I head upstairs.
If I can't check in before dinner, I'll pop in when we get back. Have a WONDERFUL afternoon all!!! Waves***

Cowinkie - Owie on the tooth! Let me know if you want any help with the Ancestry, it is my favorite hobby and I have access to Ancesty . com. I have been working on mine for almost 15 yrs now.
INE - If you don't call me by the time I am done with this post... I will call you. you called while I was sweeping & in laundry room
Dove - thanks for the reminder, I have a calendar sitting here next to me that I need to hang up.
Lucylee - WooHoo on the pending retirement!
I got sidetracked but in a good way, I swept the upstairs BathR, hallway, stairs, and downstairs hall.
Now I am going to call INE and use the Bluetooth to chat w/ her while I de-decorate (if she answers).
