If I knew that I for sure won't be able to leave home, I would have a cup of tea. But if I do get to run errands, I don't want to have to run to a public restroom. Once I drink a cup of hot tea, I have a diuretic for the day.
Wed. am the boys stayed home with dgd16, while dd2 worked. They asked her if she would get them into the YMCA holiday daycare. She was able to get them in and after lunch on Wed. they went to the Y. Yesterday they were there for the whole day. When she picked them up, they were starving. Lunch was beef stew and they don't like it and won't eat it. They are 7 and 8, but the "little kids" were served hot dogs and they didn't qualify as little kids. As much as they charge, you would think that they would at least have a choice between the 2 foods. The thing is most kids don't like beef stew. Anyway after that, they are more than glad to stay home with their dsis today until their ddad picks them up at 3, to begin another week with him. Dd2 laughed and said that from now on when they have days off of school and she is working, she will remind them of the beef stew and won't have any problem getting them to stay with their sister AND like it.

Re: Conga Friday!
Have been to church and helped get the bulletin done for Sunday. Secretary asked me today if I'd stay till mid-May to do the bulletins as she's going to MI for a couple of weeks. Have to check the calendar first because I definitely want to be home in time for our Church Council meeting in May (2nd Monday), so not sure that will work. But dd might do the bulletin -albeit it on Saturday.
Now I'm working on Annual Reports.
Trying to do it methodically from the start. Need to check my email again to see if anything else has come in. I'm nervous about getting it done -and only other secretaries realize the amount of time all this takes. ("You want it WHEN?!?!?!)) Especially when everything (mostly) has to be redone. Figure most of the day today, all day tomorrow and whatever I need on Sunday, then Monday. Our Pastor up home won't be in the office until Tuesday so have till then. Know the financial reports will be the biggest load.
DD was reading today that in the town that lost firemen Christmas Eve, that the town has waived building permits, architechts and builders are all donating their time to help rebuild the 7-8 homes that were destroyed. They have an online petition to the White House to give the 4 firemen who were killed or injured the "Medal of Freedom". They only needed 25,000 signatures and are nearly to that now (deadline is Jan 27th).
Back to work>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>My "conga" is in a chair today!

** 2 accounts brought up-to-date
** Sidetracked with info about our soldiers overseas not being feed any breakfast. (effective 1/1/2013) I spent time checking to make sure it was the truth. Yup. I am outraged.
Next up - outside chores cards

Okay, I join you in your outrage that our soldiers overseas are not being fed breakfast. How can they do that to them?

Re: Conga Friday!
Wow. I hadn't heard about that. If true, that is outrageous. Of all people that need to eat breakfast, I think our soldiers are the ones.
As usual, my day is not going as planned. I wonder if I should just stop making "plans" each day.
It started when I overslept -- b/c I hadn't turned my alarm on. I did weigh in at WW first thing this a.m. but couldn't stay for the meeting b/c I had to pick up dd14 and friend from the sleepover across town. I was home from pick up and then dropping off the dfriend by 10:30. Then, dh started going through boxes from storage in the basement -- and creating more piles of things for me to go through. Not only am I not getting to my own goals this break, but dh is now giving me new goals.
And he is very handy throwing things away, which is both helpful and non-helpful. It means that I can't just let him go through the boxes on his own. He is pretty good now about leaving my stuff alone, but he still throws out mementos that I would probably save. The silver lining in all this is that he may have just found those 4 years worth of photos that I couldn't find for ds' grad party; we previously thought we had no photos of ds between ages 3 months and 4 -- and no photos of dd17 younger than age 2.5. I'm hoping. . . dh is still going through the box of photos. He is throwing out all doubles of photos as well as all negatives, which I'm now rethinking -- maybe we should save doubles to give to our kids. Or, I suppose we could just digitize the photos too. . .
I am not at home as I'm writing -- I'm at the cafe near dd14's oboe lesson. She is at her lesson, yes. When we get home, we'll have maybe 15 minutes before we leave again for her rehearsal with her accompanist. I'm hoping to be home from that by 3 pm. Then, ds wants to go winter coat shopping with me. That was one of my Cmas presents to him. We will need to be home by 5:30 so I can take dd14 to her synchro practice. . .and we go out to eat every Friday night, which is fine with me. R may join us for dinner; he often does on Fridays. So, I will be out and about most of today. Monday is coming, though. . .
We have sunshine and temps are heading above freezing here early next week!
I hope everyone is having a great afternoon.

Living room tree is down. I'm still tidying, dusting, vacuuming and rearranging stuff. And the boxes still have to be arranged in the basement. But there is some progress.
I stopped for lunch because my mind was running in circles. Will start back up in a few minutes.

** compost to garden
** birds and dogs feed/watered
** tried not to get sidetracked watched them cut cedar trees down across the road from me. I love watching heavy equipment work. The ease of massive amounts of work done in quick time fascinates me.
** made vegetable stir fry for lunch. Served it with buffalo chicken. YUM!
** enjoyed eating and visiting with DH....alone....just the 2 of us. No interruptions. No messes to clean. Such a different way of eating than we are used to.
** kitchen cleaned up and DW running.
Next up - kick back and toes up time.
